Miracle

Miracle is a 1-year-old Labrador Mix in Huntington, WV, who needs $2,000 for Hit By A Car, Severe Injuries, Gunshot, And Possibly Pregnant.

Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates

Miracle is a luckless one-year-old lab mix, who suffered a traumatic car accident. Her owners didn't have the money for her emergency care and sadly surrendered her to the animal hospital in hopes that someone else could provide the financial means to save her life. That is when One by One Animal Advocates, 2 hours away generously stepped in. "We were told that she had been hit by a car and suffered probable broken bones in her leg or pelvis, broken ribs, severe road rash, and possibly even pregnancy." Heather tell Waggle. "As experienced animal advocates, our hearts broke for this brave dog and we were determined to do whatever it took to ensure her safety." X-rays at the emergency room didn't show any broken bones, but Miracle's hip was out of socket, requiring surgery to be put back in place - with the risk of amputation if it didn't stay in place. To complicate matters further, anesthesia posed a concern due to possible pregnancy and discovering she had been shot. "Our orthopedic vet was out of town, but time was of the essence. The longer her hip was out of the socket, the less likely it would stay in place because of muscle contracture. Miracle was stabilized at the emergency room and then driven to another hospital over four hours away from us." Miracle is a thankful dog with an ever-wagging tail - despite her obvious pain. Her surgery is an urgent matter, and it requires the help of generous individuals to make it happen. A donation towards her care would be an immense relief for One By One Animal Advocates so they never have to say no to animal in need. Can you help save Miracle?

Elliot

Elliot is a 10-month-old Mixed Breed Puppy in Huntington, WV, who needs $2,000 for Gunshot to the Head-Surgery to Reconstruct Shattered Jaw.

Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates

This is how Elliott was found, abandoned on the side of a road in rural KY. A person tried to brutally kill him and left him to die. Initially, it was assumed he had been hit by a car. Animal control came to the scene and alerted us at One by One Animal Advocated as soon as they noticed a bullet wound - he had been shot. And, not only shot accidentally, the vet said it was execution style. The bullet entered at close range in the top of Elliott’s head, travelled through his jaw, and exited out his neck. He suffered extensive bruising of his eye, vision loss, and a section of his jaw was left with shattered bone fragments. Elliot has now undergone two emergency surgeries to remove these fragments, to clean out severe infection, and close the hole in his jaw. It doesn't stop there. His third surgery is scheduled where synthetic bone will be used to try to reconstruct his jaw. The synthetic bone is expensive, but the hands-on, loving care is priceless. Unfathomable. Heartbreaking. Angry. A few of the words to describe how we felt about Elliott’s situation. Our heart breaks when an animal is mistreated … not enough food, left out in the cold, or lack of basic care. We truly cannot understand how anyone could walk up to an innocent 10-month old pup, hold a gun to his head, and pull the trigger. Once again we ask if you will come together for an innocent dog who has already overcome so much, and help us right the wrongs he has suffered so he can enjoy a normal loving life. Elliott is a miracle boy and has had many guardian angels help him get to where he is today. Can you help us raise the money for this costly, but beneficial, synthetic bone?

Monroe

Monroe is a 2-year-old Hound in Huntington, WV, who needs $2,000 for emergency surgery.

Huntington, WV • One by One Animal Advocates

Monroe cheated death -- twice! First, a car going more than 70 miles per hour struck Monroe. "It tossed his body like a rag doll," Heather A., with One By One Animal Advocates, tells Waggle. "The driver never slowed down, leaving Monroe's lifeless body to be hit again and possibly killed." A good Samaritan spotted Monroe, scooped him up, and raced him to an animal hospital. It was a miracle he survived! But without someone to pay for his care, he faced being euthanized. That's when One By One got a phone call they'll never forget. "The ER said Monroe's pelvis, hind legs, and a joint were all broken. He had severe bruising in his lungs and was in excruciating pain," Heather says. Monroe needed several expensive surgeries to save him, and One By One had a tough decision: Can they afford his care? That's when Monroe got another miracle. A renowned orthopedic veterinarian offered to do all Monroe's surgeries and rehab at cost -- without making any money. Now the nonprofit group is hoping for one last miracle: to raise the money to pay for Monroe's care. "We are tired and emotional messes after thinking we may have to euthanize Monroe, only for this angel to open his arms, heart, and veterinary practice," Heather says. "Monroe is worth every penny!" Please give so Monroe can get the miracle he needs.
