Salvador has been my #1 boy since 2015, when I adopted him from a friend who fostered kittens. Since then, he has become a beloved member of our family. He is cherished by his current sister Puar, a black cat, and has a “Garfield and Odie” relationship with our dachshund, Londo. He was also deeply attached to our calico cat Ash, who has since passed over the Rainbow Bridge. Salvador loves a good nap in a sunbeam on a comfy bed, but his true love is an empty cardboard box to roll around in! He is subdued, but loves to play with feathered toys and chew on boxes. Salvador’s favorite snacks are lunch meats, grilled chicken, and baked salmon. He is my nighttime protector, and sleeps right on my pillow to keep me safe. My kitten boy never ceases to make me smile when I find him tucked away, half asleep in a cozy corner of the house. He likes to talk to me back and forth with his grumbly meows, especially when it’s dinner time. And it wouldn’t be home if I didn’t hear him and Puar scrambling down the hallway and changing each other at 3AM! My Salvador has been struggling with poor dental health due to unlucky genetics. He has to have the majority of his teeth removed ASAP, as they are essentially rotting out of his mouth. I was able to take him to Lake Anna Veterinary Hospital to see Dr. Slovis, who diagnosed him. As of late, he’s huddled in a corner, not eating or drinking, and drooling heavily. I am unspeakably worried about him. I work in the autism department at a school, but I don't make enough to cover all of his urgent needs. Along with struggling to pay for food to eat and gas for work, I have to choose between his care and rent if I am unable to find a solution soon.
Sassy

Sassy came into my life on the fourth of July in 2010. A young couple had passed by with her and I complimented saying she was a beautiful dog. The couple explained to me that they could no longer take care of her and needed to find her a new home. Sassy was only 6 moths old but I told the couple I would take her in, and ever since my life has changed for the better. Sassy greets everyone that comes through our door with a smile and a tail that wags so hard her whole body wags with her. She is playful and energetic and loves to get people to play tug of war with her. She gets along well with every human and dog we meet, and is always looking to play and show them love. She is very well behaved and is treated like a princess in our home. Sassy is special just by being herself. She senses when we are happy, sad, afraid and is willing to do everything in our power to help us be a shoulder to lean on when we need it. She can hear us coming home from a mile away, recognizing the sound our car makes. Sassy also looks out for us in everything that we do. if the fire alarm goes off, she checks every room to make sure we are okay Sassy started to bleed out of her right nostril earlier this year and it gave me a bad feeling. After many visits to the veterinarian, emergency room and many tests later we found that she has carcinoma cancer in her sinus glands in the right nostril. Unfortunately, I do not have the money to afford care for her and I must seek help in order to save my beloved family member When the pandemic hit it became a struggle for me just to stay afloat. When Sassy's condition started it made everything worse. In order to help with some of the costs I have had to sell some of my belongings to get her help. She is my whole world and I want to help her
