Wesley horrifically injured his back leg, leaving a large gash so deep his bone was exposed. He was at a boarding facility that could not afford his veterinary care, so they planned to euthanize him. Luckily, Gabby’s Animal Rescue was informed and immediately intervened. Wesley was taken to Lone Oak Large Animal where the veterinarians examined his horrible injury. They were not confident that Wesley would make it through surgery and rehab, much less ever be able to be ridden again. The damage was so severe that it cut all the way to the ligament and bone. There was a potential that the ligament could be severed beyond repair and the bone could die, but Gabby’s Animal Rescue wanted to give him a fighting chance. Wesley made it very evident that he did not want to give up. He is the gentlest horse and revels in the attention he receives, especially from the kids. He is showered with love, attention, and treats. This 10-year-old thoroughbred gelding deserves a chance at a bright future. Wesley’s veterinary expenses are currently around $6,000. This is a high cost, but Gabby’s Animal Rescue will not shy away and know he is worth fighting for. Please consider donating to Wesley to help him receive the medical attention he desperately needs.
