Nikko is a 5 year old American Bulldog in Oxford, CT, who needs $10,000 for Intestinal Blockage Surgery.

Oxford, CT

My dog came into my life as a loving companion during a difficult time and quickly became family. We’ve been together for years, and he’s brought constant comfort, joy, and loyalty into our home. He’s playful, gentle, and deeply bonded with everyone in our household, making every day brighter. My dog is currently experiencing a serious medical emergency due to a suspected intestinal blockage. This condition requires immediate veterinary attention, including diagnostic imaging and likely surgery, to prevent life-threatening complications. We are working with our veterinary hospital to get him the care he urgently needs, but the cost is more than we can manage alone. He is deeply loved an My dog is more than a pet he’s family. He has a gentle, loving personality and always knows how to comfort us, whether it’s with a wagging tail, sitting close, or just being there when we need him most. He loves playing, being around people, and bringing joy into our home every single day. His bond with us is truly special, and he has a way of making even the hardest days feel a little lighter. We My husband and I both work hard to support our family, and I currently work two jobs while raising our five children. Life has been challenging, and while we do everything we can to stay afloat, this sudden emergency has put us in a position we simply weren’t prepared for.

Gus

Gus is a 3 month old Old English Bulldog in Ansonia, CT, who needs $10,000 for Kidney Stone Removal & Portosystemic Shunt.

Ansonia, CT

We got Gus on 4/6/2026 from a breeder in OK that specialize in old English bulldogs. He was flown here and was doing extremely well. He lives with my husband and I in our apartment and gets to socialize with our family and go on outings. Gus stopped drinking and was unable to urinate. We learned from the Newtown Emergency Animal Hospital that he has kidney stones that are blocking his bladder. He has to have multiple tests and scans done as well as eventually having the stones removed. Gus is the sweetest little potato. He loves to play and snuggle with everyone. He is incredible with kids ages 3-11 so far. He also interacts great with our other family members dogs. He is a calm loving presence that captivates everyone’s heart. We recently got married, and soon after my mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I have been taking her to chemo appointments and dr visits which has been costly in gas. Gus has always been my dream dog I’ve, & is now also a sense of support and strength for my mother

Smoochie

Smoochie is a 11.5 year old Mix-Breed in Danbury, CT, who needs $15,000 for Vincristine IV/Cytoxan Combination Chemotherapy.

Danbury, CT

I’m Shawn, and my partner Tyler and I are proud dog dads to our sweet Jack Russell/Terrier mix - Smoochie. Some dogs come into your life by chance. Smoochie came into Tyler's life because of a promise. He was left to Tyler by his mentor, Violet, when she sadly passed in October 2015 after a battle with arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease — a gift that Tyler and I cherish every single day. Back in January our world was turned upside down when Smoochie was diagnosed with colon cancer. We began treatment with the incredible team at Newtown Veterinary Specialists in Newtown, CT. This team is led by the fearless Dr. Christine Merrick who gaveour precious pup a fighting chance. Thanks to the efforts of her and her team, Smoochie has started his chemotherapy journey with such bravery. Smoochie is special to us because he is the most affectionate, cuddly pup with eyes that instantly melt your heart and he loves to shower the people he loves with kisses (hence the name). I, sadly, am between jobs at the moment and the financial commitment of funding this treatment has fallen squarely on Tyler's shoulders at the moment. We are struggling to make ends meet and the cost of the treatment has grown beyond our means to keep up with.

Beans

Beans is a 8 year old Mix-Breed in Wolcott, CT, who needs $1,500 for Diagnosis and Treatment.

Wolcott, CT

We took Beans in from a old coworker who kept her in her crate in a closet 6 years ago. Beans was about 6/7lbs when we got her, skittish and untrusting. Now she is an outgoing 10lb dog who is the definition of mans best friend Beans has always been relatively healthy even when we got her from an abuse situation. Her eye recently started turning fray and within the last 24hrs she cant keep food and water down. If we can get her medical bills covered, she will be going to wolcott vet in wolcott ct or NVS in newtown ct She is special because she filled the whole in our hearts when her dog sister passed away unexpectedly and tragically 5 years ago right before Christmas. She makes our son laugh when she plays with her toys and is the definition of a mans best friend Unexpected job loss caused a lot of financial stress and relying on 1 income barely and sometimes doesn't pay the bills, so an unexpected vet bill is something we cannot afford

Ellie

Ellie is a 3 month old Great Dane in Burlington, CT, who needs $2,000 for Hospitalization and Prednisone.

Burlington, CT

Three years ago, I adopted my sweet Great Dane mix, Ellie, from KC Pet Rescue. She was just 11 weeks old at the time — a shy, leggy puppy with big paws and curious eyes that hinted at how large she might grow one day. Ellie had been part of a litter that came to KC Pet Rescue after being found in need of safe homes. The rescue volunteers cared for her until she was healthy and ready for adoption. After a series of tests, the veterinarians diagnosed Ellie with Addison’s disease (hypoadrenocorticism) — a condition where her adrenal glands don’t produce enough essential hormones, especially cortisol and aldosterone. This can cause extreme fatigue, dehydration, low blood pressure, and even collapse if untreated. Now, three years later, Ellie has grown into a beautiful, tall, and graceful girl — but in her mind, she’s still that little puppy who wants to curl up in your lap. She has a soft, calm presence that fills the house with warmth. No matter how big she gets, she’s happiest when she’s right next to us — leaning her head on a knee, resting a paw on a shoulder, or just quietly following us everywhere Our financial situation is extremely tight right now. My husband recently underwent back surgery and is still on disability, which limits our household income. Between his recovery and Ellie’s medical needs — including Percorten-V injections, daily prednisone, and antibiotic

Nibbles

Nibbles is a 13 year old Mix-Breed in Danbury, CT, who needs $2,000 for Diagnosis and Treatment.

Danbury, CT

Nibbles jumped through my sunroof one day & decided I was his. I found out that he was the only survivor of his litter. That the others all died from some kind of fever. He has stuck by my side ever since & has helped me with many of my physical & mental health issues without any prior training. Sadly, we have been homeless for over 6 months now. & I desperately need to get him to the doctor. Nibbles has always been a fairly healthy cat. He was already neutered when I rescued him. He does have asthma, so I do what I can when he starts to wheeze. Almost a month ago, he began to lose a lot of weight. I took him to the vet, & they thought it might be hyperglycemia so they did bloodwork & found his sugar was high. Before his first shot, his pupils became strange & now his eyes are worse. Nibbles has 2 brothers, Mr. Steve & Mr. Ramses. They are all the same age & all rescues. Nibbles is a service cat for both myself, our daughter who is special needs, & our son. Nibbles has helped children get over their fear of cats, doesn’t mind other animals (including dogs), adores attention, & always knows when he is needed. There is not enough room to explain the marvel that he is. In 2023, I left a VERY toxic salon. My partner & I opened our own salon, & brought my student with us. The situation ended with us almost losing the salon,& a lost friendship. We lost our home, my vehicle, & almost the salon. We live day to day in a single room at a hotel.

SNOOPY is a 7 month old Mix-Breed in Waterbury, CT, who needs $2,000 for Tibial Fracture Repair.

Waterbury, CT

Hi, my name is Angelika and I am Snoopy's auntie. My brother adopted/rescued snoopy when he was 4 months. Since then, he has been the joy of their house. They live in a second floor but that does not stop Snoopy from having fun by running all over the house and play with every single toy around. Snoopy has always get very excited everytime my brother gets home from work. He would run up to the balcony to bark and say hello and then run back to the stairs o meet my brother ay the door. Unfortunately, this time, Snoopy fell from our balcony while greeting my brother as usual. We believe that he slipped. We took him to Vet ER (Newton Veterinary Specialist Hospital) right away. Snoopy loves outdoor activities like being at the park and play catch. He also loves when his sister (my niece) Em takes him out for a walk. He loves when hos cousins (my kids and my sisters) visit. He always welcome every single one of us by jumping a lot and barking and bringing every toy he finds. He is the best with kids and with everyone overall, the best loving dog. My brother has always had dogs in the past when he was a kid. Him and his wife cannot conceive a baby and they decided to adopt a dog. They immediately fell in love with Snoopy but definitely did not count on something like that would happen so fast. They live by paychecks.

Sugar

Sugar is a 10 year old Mix-Breed in Seymour, CT, who needs $2,000 for Regional Masectomy.

SEYMOUR, CT

Sugar came to us from a cousin living in Bronx NY. She is about 10 years and is a Yorkie mix. She has lived with us for 6 years in a one family home with her younger brother Berkley. She's very popular with the kids in the neighborhood who frequently volunteer to walk her. Sugar has lump near her mammary chain which could be cancer. The doctor has recommended a mastectomy and testing to determine if it is in fact cancer. We pray that it isn't cancer but cannot know for sure until the lump is removed. Her primary veterinarian is Seymour Veterinary Clinic. Sugar believes she is still a puppy. She loves people especially children. She has a really bad carrot problem. She sleeps with my Mom on a her own pillow. She's been with us for the last 6 years and she's the queen of everything. She happily plays with our other dog who is 3x her size. She's nuts but we love her. This an unexpected major expense that we're unable to pay for without some assistance. We are able to pay most of the expense and just need a little help with the rest.

Dozer

Dozer is a 8 year old Old English Bulldog in Ansonia, CT, who needs $2,000 for Total Ear Canal Ablation (TECA).

Ansonia, CT

Dozer came into my life 5 years ago. I took him in when his previous owners wife became pregnant, and they didnt want Dozer any longer. I took him in without hesitation. They had him not even sleeping in the house. He was sleeping in an outside porch. I knew financially it was going to be difficult because of his breed but i knew i had to give him a home dull of love. Dozer has been suffering with Chronic ear infections in both of his ears for the last 5 years. His right ear being the worst one. He has been on many antibiotics. I tried changing his diet numerous times to see if that would help but nothing has given him relief. Temporary maybe but not anything significant. His right ear canal has exploded about 2 weeks ago. The infection wont budge. Dozer is like no other furbaby i have had before, and I have had dogs my entire life. His personality is one of a kind, silly, funny, goofy and always hungry. He is a cuddler, loves belly rubs, and loves giving or hitting you with his paw. That is his high five. Through all the suffering he has been through especially over the last two weeks he is trying his hardest to get back to himself. I work full-time, I am single so the financial responsibility of rent, bills, food is on me. The cost of Dozers care is astronomical. So far his care has cost about 5500.00. The surgery can range from 8700-120000. I am doing the best i can but i need help. I cant afford that

Waterbury, CT

Nino came to us when he was less than a year old. Our aunt had to move so we took him in despite my parents always being opposed to having an animal. My parents, two siblings, me, and Nino all live in together in a 3 bedroom home in Connecticut. Nino is the sweetest, most laid back dog I’ve ever met. He loves people and, when he could see, would roll over on his belly for tummy rubs the second he met you. He loves to lounge, cuddle, and play tug-of- war with his little lamby toys Nino loves treats and loves to smell whatever we’re cooking. When he wants a taste he’ll stomp his feet and attempt a howl which always makes us laugh. He loves to be held like a baby too and will flop over our arms… almost like a ragdoll kitten Nino was diagnosed by an urgent care vet in November with diabetes. We are working diligently to get that controlled with Novolin but he developed cataracts and then glaucoma due to his diabetes. A primary vet recommended he see an ophthalmologist. Dr. Shari Greenberg at Newtown Veterinary Specialist recommended we remove Nino’s left eye for his comfort Nino has been perfectly healthy up until this point. In the 3 month since his diabetes diagnosis we have spent $5,000 in treatment and have completely drained our savings for Nino. We do not have the lump-sum required for the surgery at this moment.

Luna is a 2-year-old Mixed Breed in Beacon Falls, CT, who needs $2,000 for Bilateral TPLO (Both Left and Right Knees).

Beacon Falls, CT

Luna was a rescue puppy and born on Valentine's day. The rescue found her and her siblings in the woods without their mom. Luna was the runt of the bunch. My daughter was in college home at the time due to Covid and Luna became her therapy dog. When my daughter walked in the rescue and saw Luna that was it a match made in heaven. Pure love. Luna is very active loves to go on hikes with us. When she sees us putting on our sneakers she knows where we are going and gets so excited. She greets everyone like she's meeting you for the first time. So happy and wags her tail so fast it's like a whip. Loves our cat and my older son's dog Diesel! Luna is definitely part of our family. After our hike we go to her favorite spot Dunkin Donuts where they give her a pup cup with whip cream and a plain donut she gets so excited in the drive through. My favorite thing is to watch Luna's reaction when my daughter comes home from work or school. Brings a smile to my face watching my daughter so happy. Luna needs surgery on both of her knees so her hiking days are over for now. She also has hip dysplasia the joint should be round and it's flat. Saddens to see her struggle to get up. She's only 2 yrs old. You can tell when she's in pain but she still gets up to greet my daughter. Our vet - Newtown Vet Specialists plans on doing both knees together. This is an unexpected expense. It's extremely costly but needs this to be able to hike and run again pain free. We cannot watch her lay around in pain. She's only 2 yrs. old. With college and the cost to replace our furnace this year it's very hard.

Mac

Mac is a 1-year-old Domestic Short Hair in New Haven, CT, who needs $2,000 for Ventral Bulla Osteotomy.

New Haven, CT

My partner and I rescued this baby from an Amish puppy mill last summer. We named her Mac and her birthday is June 19, 2020. She is the sweetest kitten ever and she has another cat sister that we got from another location! Now, the four of us live in our own apartment in a city in CT. They are very loved and very happy despite Mac’s medical condition that is worsening. Mac lives a spoiled life with her cat sister Pickle. Everyday they play, cuddle and run around knocking things over and making messes. Before we moved to our own apartment, Mac spent time with my grandfather and was always getting in his way, stealing his pens, laying on his keyboard. She is cuddly and loves to give love bites and knows how to ask for her 5am breakfast treats! My partner & I paid for past treatments, my grandparents helped pay for $3k CT scan. They are retired & can’t afford more, & we are in college full time. We are upset that we can’t pay to fix her as she is clearly in worsening pain & want her to get back to her happy self. When we first got Mac, she had some goop in her eye and a stuffy nose. We took her to an emergency vet one night and were told she had an URI. A few months later we noticed her ear smelled horrible and there were crusty pieces coming out. We took her to her primary vet multiple times and no medicine ever helped. After trying to fix it and nothing working, we took her to a Cat Clinic. Although Mac is a lovey, she is crazy! She has energy that she exudes veeeery early in the morning. 3-5am! She meows for treats, rather loudly, and loves to instigate a play fight with our other cat. Her favorite toy is a cat laser which she chases like a mad woman. When boxes are opened, she hops in no matter how small and will stay inside of them for as long as she can.

Roxy is a 12-year-old Pit Bull Mix in Kingston, NY, who needs $2,000 for Lung Cancer Surgery.

Kingston, NY

My name is Dawn and I adopted Roxy in October 2019. She is 12 yrs old. I wanted a senior dog because they are filled with so much love and unfortunately are hard to get adopted. I've had cats all my life but Roxy is my first dog as an adult. She was in foster care for a month when I adopted her. The moment we met, our eyes locked, and we knew it was meant to be. Having cats for so long, I wondered how they would react to Roxy and vice versa. But now, they really love each other. They love Roxy's big, wet kisses. She even chases around my one cat, and loves playing with cat toys. My other cat always wants to be by her side, making sure that she is ok. Sometimes they all snuggle into my bed together. I just started working again & was about to get pet insurance when they found the mass. Now I need to find a way to pay for this expensive surgery.I know adopting an older pet comes with a shorter life span, but I hope, with your help, to provide Roxy a life far beyond 12yrs. This past Fall, when taking xrays of her right elbow, the Vet found a mass on her right lung. I consulted with two oncologists, both suggesting surgery was the best option and was assured it's a routine surgery. A ct scan will be needed first, followed by surgery. The majority of animals live a long life, adding years. Newtown Veterinary Specialists in Connecticut will be doing the surgery. Despite her severe arthritis, Roxy loves going on walks and just laying in the warm sun. She is always happy and smiling. She waits patiently during meal times and never begs for food that I am eating. After the Vet, she gets special treats from McDonalds:) She loves whip cream!!!She can be goofy and playful. Most of all, she inspires me to never give up.
