We adopted Jethro 2 years ago, he was too thin & terrified of everything. He didn't know how to dog! Now after being in doggy daycare weekly, which has helped him TREMENDOUSLY socialize due to aggression issues with other dogs at first, more from being scared than anything. It is just my husband, myself, Jethro & his sis Abby. We know he is 1/2 Shar-Pei which causes majority of his health issues His #1 toy a stuffed squirrel & he loves “protecting” his sis from the vacuum. He LOVES playing w/his sis, nipping at her ears until she agrees to play, Then it’s WWE time! He's a BIG cheese lover, but who isn’t. He hears that wrapper & goes crazy! He is also such a love bug & has to be as close to us as he can get. He's a great support dog for my husband who has severe PTSD from 27 yrs military. 2019 was lost jobs, then Jethro had his ER visit, maxing credit cards/savings. Husband broke foot & workman's comp is ignoring him. We're stretched thin til hubby can go back to work. Credit scores so low we dont qual for carecredit. Need help for Jethro's and our hearts! When we got him, his hair was 1/2 gone, severe allergies,so he has rx meds daily or he loses hair, had entropic eyelids. 2019 he had a severe allergic reaction to something. Very fast/bad,we got him to ER w/in 15 mins. Then,we learned he had heart worms. We give him monthly chews, vet says he prob had it before we got him & was just dormant til now. Fast kill is the only way to make it survivable When he wants your attention he places his paws on you til you pay attention or sit right on top of you. At first we always had him in bow-ties and he looked quite dapper, however since his sis came, no more bow-ties, because his sis is the destroyer of MOST toys. He has a squirrel who lives around us that is his arch-nemesis and will challenge him to staring contests lol, squirrel usually wins!
