Rocky
Rocky is a 2.5 year old Mix-Breed in Hazel Park, MI, who needs $4,000 for Cruciate (TPLO)-B16.
Hazel Park, MI
Rocky is a rescue I adopted from my local animal shelter on Valentine’s Day after losing my previous dog in a hit and run. He’s brought healing and joy back into my home. I also have a female dog in the household. We’ve been together since adoption. His name just fit him—strong but sweet, like a true “Rocky.” Rocky has a completely torn cranial cruciate ligament (ACL equivalent) that will not heal on its own and is causing him constant pain and trouble walking. He is scheduled for TPLO surgery on June 4th to give him a chance at a normal, pain-free life. It breaks my heart seeing him struggle—he’s still so loving and happy, and I just want him to run and play again without hurting. Rocky is very loving but has a stubborn streak in the sweetest way. He loves being outside, running and playing with my other dog, and just being part of whatever the family is doing. He’s very food-motivated and always excited for treats. He’s also protective in a gentle way, always alerting us like a good boy. His personality has brought so much joy and laughter into our home. This is an unexpected major expense. I’m a single mom caring for my household and also my mother, who has physical limitations. I handle all finances on my own. I tried CareCredit, but it doesn’t cover the full surgery cost. I’m doing my best to stay positive for Rocky.

Molly
Molly is a 10 year old Mix-Breed in Troy, MI, who needs $1,500 for MRIT Surgery Due to Age and Activity Level.
Troy, MI
Molly is a rescue who came to Michigan from Texas. She was timid and submissive when we first adopted her, but after a lot of work she came out of her shell! She is truly a mixed-breed and has over 17 types in her DNA results! Molly needs a growth removed that cytology could not determine alone if it was benign. We noticed it right before she had a scheduled dental cleaning so they were able to do a biopsy while she was under. Less than a week after her cleaning, she chased a poor opossum in our yard and tore her ACL/CCL. Molly has had a rough go of it. She came to us heartworm positive, has had to have a polyp removed from her butt (really!), has had eye lash correction surgery, cysts removed, and digestive issues. She is our special "lemon" pup. She is incredibly sweet, everyone who meets her always tells us how sweet she is. In the last five years, between the two of us, we have lost 6 jobs due to closures and covid. We have exhausted any financial avenue we had access to.

Kaisa
Kaisa is a 3-year-old Rottweiler Mix who needs $2,000 for TPLO surgery.
Kaisa was found down in Georgia in 2018 on the side of a highway. She was skin and bones, terrified of life and clearly thrown away. I drove down to Georgia and picked her up, drove her back to MI where she resides now and has for the last 2 years. She lives with two other dog friends and has come so far from the life she once knew. Kaisa has come out of her shell each year passing. Kaisa is a very goofy girl, she’s also very lazy but loves to chase anything willing to run from her. Kaisa will snuggle all day or hike in the woods anytime. She likes to make sure the house stays quiet and the other dogs behave so we call her the doggie referee. Not a single aggressive none in her body! Kaisa is very special to me because the same year I got her I lost my Mom. After losing my Mom that’s when someone had posted her and something drew me in, so I packed the car and brought her home. She’s needed me like I’ve needed her, she’s put her trust into me and she’s always there when I’m upset or crying. She makes a great emotional support dog Kaisa needs TPLO surgery, which in the human world is a torn ACL She has been evaluated by a few Drs. We tried crate rest, medications, therapy but unfortunately the leg is damaged pretty badly so she needs a full surgery to repair the leg. She will need some physical therapy after and atleast 3 months of crate rest after Since losing my Mom I had to take on the responsibility of taking care of my younger siblings. I do work full time and currently picked up a part time job but it never seems like enough. I would sell everything I own to save my animals, I always put them above myself
