Mufasa
Mufasa is a 8 month old American Pit Bull Terrier in TRAVERSE CITY, MI, who needs $3,000 for Shoulder Surgery.
TRAVERSE CITY, MI
Moo is 8 months old and is a huge part of our family. We have had him since he was about 6 weeks old. He lives with myself and my 6 year old son. He means the world to us. We had Moo on his tie out to go potty. Somehow he broke free, ran in the road and got hit by a car. We rushed him to the emergency vet that has already cost over $3000. He now needs to be transported to a vet that can do a surgery to save his leg and his life. The cost is approx $10000. We simply cannot afford that. We have pooled our resources and have managed to get together about $4500. Our baby Moo means everything to our family. He is my emotional support dog and also is wonderful with my son. We are just absolutely wrecked. We need our boy home safe. Please help any way you can. I am a single mom and just don't have the funds but I refuse to put euthanize him. Hevm is our family We cannot lose him. My son and I need him more than you know

Ollie
Ollie is a 6 year old American Shorthair in Birmingham , MI, who needs $5,000 for Acute Urinary Obstruction with Renal Evaluation.
Birmingham, MI
Ollie came into my life at the start of the COVID lockdown in 2020 after I rescued him and his adopted brother Flynn from New Beginnings Animal Rescue in Royal Oak, MI when they were kittens. Ollie lives with me as a beloved indoor pet in a safe, stable home. He came into my life near the anniversary of my mom’s passing and has been a constant source of comfort, love, and companionship ever since. Ollie was a healthy, playful 6-year-old until last Thursday morning when we woke to distressed cries, litter box straining, and vomiting. We rushed him to the vet, and he was transferred to Oakland Veterinary Referral Services (OVRS) in Bloomfield Hills for an emergency urinary blockage. While recovering, vets discovered likely underlying kidney disease despite previously normal labs and behavior. Ollie is the weirdest, most lovable little guy-we joke he’s an alien in a cat suit. He spins and flips chasing his own tail, chirps at sparrows on YouTube (but ignores real birds), and almost never meows. Instead he “honks” and squeaks. Every night at 9pm he waits in the kitchen with his happy shaky tail. He loves hunting his brother Flynn, butt pats, and belly rubs. I truly can’t imagine life wit Ollie has been hospitalized since Thursday, and his care is nearing $10,000. If his suspected CKD is confirmed, ongoing treatment may be $500+ monthly. After a year of unexpected medical bills, a totaled car, and job loss, support would mean everything to us and to Ollie.

Deke
Deke is a 5 year old Labrador Retriever in Burton , MI, who needs $2,000 for Transfusions.
Burton, MI
Deke (aka lizard) was 8 weeks old when we picked him up for my husband. Deke received his nickname due to the fact everyone he meets he has to slobber with his long tongue. This boy is the most loving dog ever. He follows me everywhere including the bathroom! Our favorite place to lay and hide! He is a healthy 6yr old besides this situation. Deke was diagnosed with Autoimmune Anemia yesterday which caused him to get deadly sick extremely fast, which was an unexpected expense for us. This will be a ongoing problem but we can handle that later. Now is the problem Oakland Veterinary Referral Services is currently where Deke is located. This is thousands of dollars for several transfusions. Deke has 3 special kids at home that we adopted 2 yrs ago. One of them is his hunting buddy. Wherever Linkyn goes Deke is right there with him. When my daughters read to him, he lays down. These kids are his life and he is theirs. My husband and I have to have our boy in our bed at night to sleep. He obeys on hand command, he loves his duck decoy toy and his favorite stuffy is his pink elephant. I currently am on short term disability which is 60% of my normal income, we have 3 kids and my husband works very hard to support us. We want our household whole again and without our lizard here it's completely empty and sad. Anything will help. Thank you so much.

Aurora
Aurora is a 8 year old Mix-Breed in Pontiac, , who needs $2,000 for CHOP.
Pontiac
I got aurora when she was 8 weeks old and she’s turned 8 this year. She has been my best friend, my shadow, my heart in a dogs’ body ever since. She’s a German Shepard/Husky mix and yes, she howls! She loves pumpkin and tug a way and she her sister Stella — my 9 year old cat. It’s always been us against the world and I’m not ready to say goodbye, and I know she’s not either. Aurora was diagnosed at Banfield Pet Hospital with lymphoma, and she needs to have a chance at a healthy life. She’s been my reason, my comfort, and my joy through every hardship. I can’t imagine my days without her, and I want to do everything I can to keep her safe and happy for the time we still have together. She loves rope toys, being spooned, and howls along with sirens. Grass is her happy place, but water and the vacuum are sworn enemies. She lets my cat Stella clean her face and ears, adores cuddles and butt scratches, and has never met an animal she didn’t love. Her heart is as big as her bark. I just spent my savings on emergency care for my cat, and now my sweet girl needs help too. I’m stretched thin, but I’m not out of love or fight for her. She’s been my constant through every hardship, and helping her heal means giving her the happy life she deserves.

Max
Max is a 9 year old Maltese in Brighton, MI, who needs $8,000 for Prorttsystem Shunt, Cryptorchidism, Cystolith.
Brighton, MI
We acquired Max from a senior who no longer was able to care for him. Max was with her for 9 years, every since he was a puppy. Max hasn't lived a "normal" life. He was kept in a small condo. He was very loved, but due to mobility issues with his owner, he was never put outside for any length of time, or has had the training any dog deserves. His world was very small. Max has a possible shunt in his liver, which is suspected to have caused a bladder stone. He has a cryptorchidism, or undescended testicle, which has grown a mass on it. Dr Clark from Oakland Veterinary Referral Service has helped to identifie the situation. Max will need a specialist to help resolve his situations. Dr Clark has said with this surgery he will lead a normal, healthy life span. We have had Max for a week and a half. We are teaching him to walk on a leash, allowing him to play in the grass, potty in the grass and he is excited in meeting other animals. He is excelling in his new world. He loves to be outside, exploring everything. He is leaning recall and doing fantastic. We also are teaching him to feel safe with other people, he's very frighten around men and children. We are determine to give Max a life he has deserved, but the cost of his medical treatment/surgery w/pre-op cost is est. $8000 or more. Our hearts sank after hearing this because it's beyond our means. Max is learning quickly, his world is getting so big. He is so loved.

Leonidas
Leonidas is a 13 year old Mix-Breed in Troy, , who needs $800 for Echocardiogram.
Troy
This is Leonidas. He is 13 years old. I've had him since was about 8 weeks old. I was a Veterinary Technician for many many years. He was rescued from a car engine. As he's gotten older he has developed severe IBD, he is in stage 2 kidney failure and now his heart murmur has gotten worse with the use of steroids for his gut. He needs an echocardiogram to see what Damage has been done to his heart. I need to get him in for an echocardiogram with a board certified cardiologist his regular vet Dr Tate of Troy Veterinary Hospital in Troy Michigan has informed me that his grade 1 murmur is now a 2 and the vet filling in in November heard changes but I didn't find out until yesterday It is in his best interest to have an echocardiogram done to look at the structures of his heart. Leonidas is my small dog in a.cats body. He LOVES his dog even if the dog doesn't like him that much back. He is the sweetest boy most chill cat I've ever had I am now a retired Veterinary Technician on SSDI I don't bring in very.much money per month. Definitely not enough to keep up with regular bills and have anything left. The cost of the echocardiogram has risen quite a bit. I was shocked how much it is now.

Brownie
Brownie is a 7 year old Mix-Breed in Melvindale, MI, who needs $2,000 for Surgery.
Melvindale, MI
Brownie was adopted. We’ve had him for 7 years. He's a boxer lab mix that thinks he's the size of a Chihuahua and wants to sit on your lap. But since he's been sick.. he cant climb the stairs, walking is hard. The doctor said the mass and his stomach is a ticking time bomb After going to two different hospitals three different times without any answers and spending thousands of dollars...We decided to try one last time. OVRS diagnosed brownie with a mass in his abdomen the size of a basketball... In order to save his life. We need almost $10,000 for the surgery. Brownie is not your typical dog.. This boy loves to sit on your lap. He thinks he’s the size of a Chihuahua, but in an elephant sized body. He always wants to be close to us. He does not like being alone. One day he saved my daughter from a wild animal attack. It’s funny though…he’s such a big baby but then on the other hand he’s so protective and emotionally supportive. My daughter was murdered, I lost my job, Brownie has been helping me through it. I want to save him. But in order to do that, I need help. It took three veterinarians and maxing out my credit to find a diagnosis. Now we need to save his life.

Rocky is 11 years old and he came into my life when he was first born I knew he was going to be my everything when I first saw him. rocky was gifted to me when I was just 19 years old!! Hello, my name is Jewell Jones and this is my baby, Rocky Theadore Jones. Make sure when we are upset that he is always there for us and gives us the best cuddles all times. beyond the best baby on this earth. I might not ever have children but he is everything I need. Lily
Lily is a 7 year old Mix-Breed in Flushing, MI, who needs $2,000 for Diagnosis and Treatment.
Flushing, MI
Lily rescued us 7 years ago from a local animal rescue. I looked at those crossed eyes and fell in love. She lives a humble life with my husband, daughter, myself, a 16- year old cat sibling and a 6- year old dog sibling. Lily has a”fever of unknown origin” (107 currently). Our veterinarian is not able to find the reason, so Lily is now at OVR in Bloomfield Hills. They are hoping to find the reason and resolve it within a few days. Our current bills (between the original emergency vet, our vet, and the current emergency vet) are close to $10,000 so far. An additional $3,000 if she needs to stay longer. Lily is a spunky, full of life baby, which is why seeing her like this is devastating. She is an important family member, not a “pet”. She is definitely the leader in our household. She has a tough exterior, but is a lover at heart. I am not one to ask for help and am embarrassed to have to do so, but am in a position of great need to save my baby. I hope to be able to return the favor in the future.

Kimber
Kimber is a 7-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier in Swartz Creek, MI, who needs $2,000 for Biopsy.
swartz creek, MI
My husband and I picked Kimber out when she was 3 weeks old. We picked her up a week after moving into our first house together. She is now 7 and a pivotal part of our family. She’s sweet, sassy, lazy, cuddly and gives the best kisses. She’s our couch potato, blanket and pillow stealing sweet blue nose pitbull. Kimber loves her pittie sister Misty and her human sister Regan. She loves playing and wrestling with Misty and she loves cuddling and giving Regan kisses. When Kimber gets really excited, she howls. She refuses to go outside when it’s raining. She really takes to her dad, but she loves her mom too. Kimber likes to sleep in bed with us under our blankets and head on our pillows. As mentioned before, Kimber howls when she’s excited or you ask her to speak. She loves stealing socks, hats and stuffed animals, in which she does not eat, but wants you to chase her around when she steals them. If she’s REALLY happy to see you when you come into the house, she will steal your shoes and run around with them Kimber has been in the animal hospital for more than a week now, with prior visits to the vet. She is having chronic diarrhea and food refusal. Many X-rays, an Untrasound and tests have been ran, and so far they cannot find what it wrong with her. We had a biopsy done of her GI tract on 1/23, we are awaiting the results. We are hoping to have answers soon so we can move forward with treatment Our bill has increased astronomically over the course of Kimber’s stay at the animal hospital. We will soon not be able to afford to keep her there and get her treated. It would mean the entire universe to us to get Kimber the treatment and diagnosis that she deserves

Sparky
Sparky is a 2-year-old Bernedoodle in Canton, MI, who needs $2,000 for Wound Debride and Closure and Neuter.
Canton, MI
Sparky is only 2 years old but it feels like he’s been with us forever. He’s so smart he knows the names of his toys and everyone in the family. He’s an emotional support dog for my granddaughter and immediately knows when she’s had a tough day. I can’t imagine life without him. He’s gentle and loving Sparky came into our lives when he was 9 weeks old. We were all excited because we had waited for months. Sparky immediately bonded with my 10 year old granddaughter and they have been inseparable ever since. Sparky knows the sound of the school bus and runs to the front window watching and whining for Sophia. Once he gets a glimpse of her he runs to the door. He is a vital member of the family Sparky is a Velcro dog. You may think he’s sleeping so you get up to use the bathroom and when you look up there he is. Being with his family is what makes him happy and us too. Life wouldn’t be the same without him he brings a calm over everyone that meets him He can even count, he gets 3 treats after dinner and he will stare you down if he’s shorted them. Sparky was accidentally knicked with the clippers at the groomer and in no time the Knick got infected his belly and between his legs. The vet put him on strong antibiotics. But 3 days later we noticed his testicular area was now very swollen and purple. The vet added a second antibiotic and wash. now everything is black and the ER vet says ER surgery is the only way to save him My husband passed away during COVID so the past 2 years have been rough. It was sudden and unexpected and drastically changed finances. Sparky has brought joy back to the home. My granddaughter pleaded with me to not let sparky die like grandpa did.

Cooper
Cooper is a 5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier in Fenton, MI, who needs $2,000 for a blood transfusion.
Fenton, MI
Cooper a five year old staffordshire terrier, formerly known as Rider, is a rescue from the Genesee County animal shelter. He was frightened by the kennel, refusing to eat and scared. My husband and I adopted him right before Christmas in 2018. Since we do not have children of our own, Cooper is considered our fur baby and he is the love of our lives. Cooper is friendly to everyone he meets and he’s always getting compliments from people passing by on how handsome he is. He greets everyone at the door with an excessive wagging, whip of a tail. Cooper is very kid friendly. He listens so well to my sweet young niece when she tells him to stay so she can play hide and seek with him and his ball. Cooper is full of energy, sometimes too much! In the summer Cooper plays outside usually three times a day and goes on long runs with me to get ice cream down town. He loves the winter too, nothing could slow this pup down. Unfortunately, Cooper has fell Ill and is now too lethargic to play. He will go outside excited and turn around because he is too tired. It breaks my heart to see him this way. At the beginning of November Cooper received three vaccines. He received his rabies, influenza, and distemperment vaccine. Days following the vaccines Cooper was sluggish, but we thought it was a normal side effect post vaccines. Cooper continued to be lethargic for two weeks and we decided to take him to the vet. The vet had stated his red blood cell count was low and everything else was normal. Coopers hematocrit has continued to decline and he is not producing his own red RBCs at this time. We are seeing a specialist next week for more answers, and options for treatment. Cooper is inevitably in need of a blood transfusion which can cost upwards of $2000.

Coco
Coco is a 2-year-old Labrador in Fenton, MI, who needs $2,000 for TPLO surgery.
Fenton, MI
We bought Coco when she was about 5 months. She is a pure bred Chocolate Labrador who is 95 lbs of pure love. She lives with my husband, our 3 little daughters and myself. We live in a small neighborhood and have a small yard with no fence so Coco only gets to be outside on a leash or chain. However, she loves going for walks, playing in the deep snow, and even relaxing outside in the sun. Coco is a great guard dog but knows how to be gentle when playing with our girls. She lets our daughters climb all over her and even snuggle. Coco is a very loving and gentle dog, especially around children. She loves to wrestle with my husband and play tug of war. Coco loves running around outside with her best dog friend Winston. My husband is currently a 4th year medical student and I am a stay at home mom. Our only income is through student loans until my husband graduates from medical school. We need help paying for potentially surgery on both hind legs so we can get Coco running around again. Coco fell in a grate that was under a snow drift. She was unable to put any weight on her right hind leg. We found out she tore a ligament in her knee. From having all her weight on the left hind leg, the veterinarian believes that ligament tore too. She is being seen at Oakland Veterinary Referral Services in Bloomfield Hills, MI. Coco loves running around the house in the dark with our daughters while they scream and pretend like she is a monster. Coco plays fetch with herself by throwing a ball up in the air and chasing it after it bounces. She also tries to do it with her bones. When coco naps, she often lays on her back with all her feet in the air.

Red
Red is a 3-year-old Chow Chow in St. Clair Shores, MI, who needs $2,000 for TPLO surgery.
st clair shores, MI
Red is our everything. Having adopted her from a rescue we have made it our mission to make her an ambassador for her breed. We have dedicated the first 3 years of her life to training and socializing, where she has excelled. She lives mostly peacefully with two feline siblings (frenemies) who are both rescues with special needs. After losing our 18 year old Chow Chow, Simba, we knew we would want to adopt another. A couple years later we moved from NYC to Michigan and the time was right. We had met the CEO of Chow Chow Rescue Society, Tracey Sparagis, while fostering Chows in New York. We reached out to her at the same time as a litter of puppies came into CCRS. It was Destiney. We adapted the last one and she has been Since Covid19, my industry has completely stopped, I have not been able to return to work and my wife is immune compromised. Our concern is for Red's quality of life and long term care. The sooner we get the TPLO surgery, the better chance she has of recovering. Red was running the yard and came back limping. After the limping persisted for more than a few days, we took her to our vet Affordable Veterinary Clinic for X-rays. We were told she had torn both ACL's. We took her to a specialist at Oakland Veterinary Referral Services who told us Red needed corrective surgeries on both legs. She knows who the baby of the family is. She has bonded with both of us which is different for a Chow. We love her downward dog position that she goes into when getting treats. She is silly and sassy all at the same time. You can speak to her like you speak with anyone else and she mostly responds accordingly. She helps keep her Momma company when Poppa is out on tour.
