Bear

Bear is a 1 year old Mix-Breed in Plattsburgh, NY, who needs $2,000 for Feline Distemper Virus Treatment.

Plattsburgh, NY

Hello, my name is Lillian and I’ve currently lost my job and have now just come into a really desperate time. I had 12 cats in which I’ve raised since they were all babies. I don’t have the money to help any of them sadly. I don’t know where else to turn to. I only have 11 cats now due to having to put one down. I’m unfortunately going to have to put down another down. I need this to save them Feline distemper virus is what they have. The only way to save them is for treatment otherwise they will all have to be put down. This is a highly contagious, fast acting and deadly virus. It’s $500 per cat to get treatment started. Palmer Veterinary Clinic is the vet I’m currently working with. Regardless I have to have money for treatment or euthanization.. My babies are the world to me. just hearing my voice in the morning makes them climb into bed with me and love me. They’re constantly running through the house playing with each other or their brother dog. Each one has a different personality. They love their cat toys and tunnels. All of my babies are so young. The oldest is only 4. I can’t have a quiet house.. its always noisy now.. I unfortunately lost my job and have so many cats to get help. I can’t do it alone and I’m trying everything. I don’t have much time. Each day that goes by is another cat I have to put down. I can’t keep doing this.. I just need someone to help

Reefy

Reefy is a 6-year-old Long Haired Domestic Cat in Plattsburgh, NY, who needs $1,100 for Extraction of Teeth.

Plattsburgh, NY

My son & his girlfriend adopted Reefy from the shelter in 2020 after he was abandoned to the shelter but it wasn’t a good fit with their dog. So instead of sending him Back to the shelter feeling abandoned again I took Reefy in. He lives currently with just myself in a two bedroom apartment. We lost his sibling Brooklyn who I had since 6 weeks to renal failure this past January. Reefy is very attached to me since Brooklyn passed. When I first night him into the home he adjusted well but always would be at the end of the bed. I feel he must have been with other cats that received more attention than him in his previous home. He played well with his sibling Brooklyn very well. When Brooklyn passed Reefy became used to being the center of attention. Reefy is such a character. He shows so much love and is an avid headbutter and loves to Play with hair. And he immediately will roll over four paws in the air when you ask him to see his belly and to have his belly brushed. Reefy was being fussy completely stopped Eating Saturday it seemed he was trying to pass a hairball. took him to the vet Mon.. they did X-rays & thought maybe was a hairball stuck. he was backed up with stool. Tues he was no better. they did X-rays that came out well except for inflammation. He was admitted and the vet concluded late yesterday it was his teeth and he needs 7-8 teeth pulled. I live in a fixed income and I have already exhausted my savings for First days visits and meds. I lost my Brooklyn in January and I live alone and I just can’t bear the thought of losing my Reefy should his teeth not be extracted to avoid infection to his blood stream.

Chloe

Chloe is a 9-year-old Coon Hound in Keeseville , NY, who needs $2,000 for Eye Surgery/Cataracts.

Keeseville, NY

Chloe came into our lives as a rescue dog. We got her to be a big sister to our other dog, Lula, because Chloe had a vivacious energy about her that to this day has allowed her and her sister to lead energetic and wonderful lives. Chloe is the most docile, loving, happy and sweet girl. She snuggles on the couch every night, and loves nothing more than do run outside and play with her sisters. Or at least she used to until her medical condition arose. Being a coonhound, Chloe used to love running out in the fields chasing butterflies, and anything else that moved. Although she never was able to catch anything fortunately. Her strong sense of smell has allowed her to be a pup that loves to explore. A few months ago we came home from vacation and noticed Chloe was losing weight. Normally she is approximately 85 lb and solid muscle. Over the next few weeks she wasn't eating and got all the way down to 60 lb. When we finally were able to get into the Vet we were told that she was severely diabetic. Within a couple weeks after Her diagnosis she went completely blind with the lenses in her eyes becoming totally opaque. Now when we go for walks I have to have her on a leash. She cannot run and play like she used to and she seemingly has lost her zest for life. This absolutely breaks my heart and I would give anything for her to have the ability to see you again so that she can play with her sister and live out the rest of her life being active, happy, and chasing butterflies again. The surgery to have her regain her sight his upwards of $6,000 which is just not feasible for my single income with having to take care of my daughter and all the bills that most everybody has nowadays. It would be wonderful if somehow this site were able to give Chloe back the gift of site. I am a divorced single father who is taking care of my older brother and my teenage daughter. I lost my job last year and I am currently working another job but I half the income that I was making. This is not a sob story. I am doing fine and I will make ends meet. But as for Chloe, they're simply no way I can get her the surgery to have her regain and thus allow her to live a healthy active life again.
