Raider was found on our high school football field, dodging cleats and tires while the team was warming up. One of our coaches was going to put him on the sand pile behind the school. My daughter refused to leave him behind, so we brought him home, named him Raider (after our mascot). He weighed a whole 12 ounces that day! But boy was he feisty!!! Raider was rescued with an upper respiratory infection. One round of antibiotics was not quite enough to clear that, so we had to go for round 2. During that second round, we noticed that his right eye had a hole in it. We began ointment, only to discover that his eye turned red, cloudy, and swollen. At our appointment today, it was determined that he will need surgery to remove his eye. Raider is the life that this family needed. It has been a while since we've had a baby animal in the house and the babies always seem to rejuvenate the older ones. Our other animals have been more playful with each other and with Raider and the humans have even been nicer to each other too!:) We needed Raider just as much as he needed us! The only reason I am asking for help is because of this kitten. While we are normally a paycheck-to-paycheck household, having the extra expenses of this kitten fighting infections and ulcers has taken everything extra we have.
