Buck's story began in January 2017. a birthday lovingly chosen based on the animal shelter's age estimate. This sweet Lab mix was fostered from the Waco Animal Shelter on Father's Day and quickly became the younger brother to Beaux, another adopted pup, and is a beloved member of our family, which has grown by one more adopted pup, Benny, and an infant little brother. Tuesday morning, Buck began limping. A quick visit to his vet showed he had a torn ligament in his left hind leg, requiring advanced surgery, radiographs, sedation monitoring, and medical check-ups post-surgery. Dr. Amy Mathiak at Patriot Animal Hospital will perform the surgery. She says Buck is in great health, and with surgery, we can get him back up and chasing squirrels in the backyard again. Despite all he's been through, Buck is in great health and full of spirit. His resiliency has gotten him through one ACL surgery, and 2 tumor removal surgeries (benign & cancerous caught early this Nov). On sunny days, he plays in the backyard with his brothers, and on rainy, thunderous days, he prefers cozing up in the closet. Buck can often be found watching over his infant baby brother. Buck has had many surgical procedures, with the most recent this past November for a benign tumor. With the birth of a new baby and moving to a one-income family, with the endless love he gives us, we are looking for support to help him heal and run happily again.
