Remi is a rescue that has been with us since June 2021. She has filled a hole in my heart that I did not know needing filling. She is my certified emotional support animal that has quite literally saved my life this last year as I have been battling with some of the most severe depression I have experienced. Remi is a ball of energy, but loves cuddling up on the couch or in bed just as much! She loves to be loved and will give you the occasional paw to remind you that she still needs petting. I am so thankful she loves me so hard and she does not even know how much she helps me. When I am having a rough day, a little love with Rem gets me back on my feet. Remi is a huge outdoors fan. When we first adopted her, she absolutely despised the water. Now, we go for walks near the river and she cannot get enough of it! This is also her first year getting to experience significant snow and it is hilarious. She gets out the door and is immediately bounding through the snow. And when I say bound, I mean BOUND! Remi got into an Advil container and consumed over half the bottle. We rushed her to the vet where she will get treated overnight. The vet is concerned for gastrointestinal/liver/renal damage and seizures. She will be in doggy ICU for a minimum of 48hours. She is a real fighter, but we are very worried right now. I do not know what I would do without her by my side My husband (PT school) and I (nursing) are both in school and unable to work during. I also was recently in an accident on the interstate that totaled my car and resulted in medical bills. The unexpected expenses are unfortunately stacking up. When it rains it storms.
