Gretchen was a German Shepherd who came to us as a puppy through a rescue in Texas. She arrived with a lot of anxiety, but it did not take her long to make her place in our family known. The day she was introduced to our Great Pyrenees and Great Dane, she quickly took over as the pack leader and made it clear that she was in command. As Gretchen matured, she naturally took on the role of protector. She treated our home like it was her responsibility to keep everyone safe, doing rounds inside and outside to make sure everything was secure. During her patrols, she would gently tap each person with her nose as she passed, as if to let us know we had been accounted for and were safe. She always seemed to know who belonged in our home and who needed her approval first. Although she was not a cuddly, huggable dog, Gretchen had a deeply caring side that she did not always let everyone see. She preferred to be the working, on-guard dog—but when our elderly Great Dane became ill with kidney failure, Gretchen became a motherly source of comfort. During her daily IV fluid treatments, Gretchen would sit with her and gently lick her face until she relaxed and fell asleep. It was one of the sweetest examples of Gretchen’s quiet compassion. Gretchen has also been an amazing companion to my 86-year-old mother, who lives with Lewy body dementia and Parkinson’s. Every morning during her rounds, Gretchen would make sure to check on her. She would wake her gently by stopping beside her and licking her ear, almost as if she knew it was her job to make sure Mom was okay and ready for the day. Gretchen is more than a pet. She is a protector, a caretaker, a loyal companion, and an important part of our family. Splenic mass (approximately 5 × 6 cm) with small-volume abdominal fluid/peritoneal effusion; diagnosis pending splenectomy and biopsy. Concern for splenic tumor, including possible hemangiosarcoma versus benign hematoma/hyperplasia. Urgent splenectomy, splenic-mass biopsy, and liver biopsy have been recommended. Gretchen is a 10-year-old spayed female German Shepherd who was evaluated for a painful, distended abdomen, panting, and decreased appetite. Abdominal imaging and ultrasound found a large, approximately 5 × 6 cm cavitated mass on her spleen, with inflammation around the mass and small pockets of free fluid in her abdomen. The specialist’s differential diagnosis includes benign causes such as hematoma or lymphoid hyperplasia, as well as a malignant splenic tumor such as hemangiosarcoma. The diagnosis cannot be confirmed until the mass is removed and sent for pathology. Because a splenic mass can bleed internally or represent a serious tumor, the specialist recommends urgent surgery: a splenectomy (removal of the spleen), biopsy of the splenic mass, and liver biopsy. Gretchen will also need anesthesia, hospitalization, pain management, laboratory monitoring, pathology testing, and follow-up care. A small amount of fluid near the heart/chest and an extra heartbeat were also seen during evaluation, so cardiac monitoring and/or additional cardiac evaluation may be needed before or during treatment. Gretchen is special because she has always had an incredible instinct to protect and care for the people and animals she loves. Even though she came to us as an anxious rescue puppy, she grew into the confident leader of our home—our watchful protector, caretaker, and family guardian. She makes her own security rounds throughout the house and outside, gently tapping each of us with her nose as she passes, as if she is checking that everyone is safe and accounted for. She seems to know who belongs in our home and takes her job of keeping watch very seriously. What makes Gretchen especially remarkable is the soft, loving side she usually keeps hidden behind her serious working-dog personality. When our elderly Great Dane was sick with kidney failure and needed daily IV fluids, Gretchen would sit beside her, lick her face, and comfort her until she fell asleep. She also became a devoted companion to my 86-year-old mother, checking on her every morning and gently waking her with a lick on the ear. Gretchen is special because she is not only our dog—she is our protector, caregiver, companion, and quiet source of love. Our family is facing an unexpected emergency veterinary expense for Gretchen. We were not prepared for the cost of urgent specialty surgery, hospitalization, anesthesia, biopsies, pathology, medication, and follow-up care after the ultrasound found a large mass on her spleen. In addition, I am currently the full-time caregiver for my 86-year-old mother, who has Lewy body dementia and Parkinson’s disease. This responsibility requires significant time, care, transportation, and household resources, and it limits my ability to take on additional work or access funds quickly. We are contributing what we can and actively pursuing fundraising, financial-assistance programs, and payment options, but the cost of Gretchen’s urgent treatment is beyond what we can safely pay immediately without falling behind on essential household expenses. Gretchen needs timely surgery, and financial assistance would help us move forward with the recommended treatment while we continue working to cover the remaining balance.

I have had her since she was maybe just a couple days old I found her outside and I have taken care of her ever since she is almost 4 years old. She’s such a loving cat very relaxed. She loves every other kitten that she’s ever met. she loves to play but only for a few minutes and then she wants to stop and she will let you know that she just walks around and meows just to hear her voice. She’s very sweet. I came home from the store this evening and I’ve noticed blood on my sofa and my brand new pantry, but I couldn’t quite figure out where it was coming from. However, then my cat got up off of the floor to walk away and I seen a huge blood clot with a bunch of blood, she also was throwing up the night before and was foaming out of her mouth and would not let anyone come near her.. however I’m not quite sure exactly what the blood clot is from yet. I don’t have the financial means to be able to do testing to figure it out. I just hope and pray that nothing that happens to her while I can figure out the financial part. 😞 She loves to meow and let us every single night before bed faithfully she is like another child of mine, and I am desperately asking for someone to help me. I don’t want anything bad to happen to her. I am a single mother of three kids and the way love their cat so so much and I do what I can but this time I am lost … I can not afford to help her and it is breaking my kids hearts and mine as well

We got Zoey when she was six months old from a rescue. We’ve had her for a year now. Zoey was abuse and neglected. She was underweight & has issues with her legs. She has PTSD with trust issues. We had to prove to her that this is her forever home and we will never give up on her. The pain she endures every day is heartbreaking. She just wants to play with her dog siblings & have fun. Zoey has luxating patella which means that her kneecap slips out of place causing pain. Both needs need surgery ASAP! Her night knee is a grade 3 ( 1-4). Left knee is 2. Grade 4 is permanent damage. Zoey also has quadriceps injury. That makes her legs very stiff and straight legged. This means she needs PT before surgery & after. Pets Emergency DR Jager is the doctor Zoey is seeing for treatment Zoe is a very special dog. She has a ton of zest and spunk! I feel her strong spirit is what has gotten her this far. She has overcome so much and is determined to live her best life. She is high energy and does not understand why her body is not working like it should. Therefore, she likes to push the limits of her body. Zoey is a very loyal girl and never leaves my side. Zoey needs a double knee surgery and also needs a CT scan. This is extremely expensive. We work full-time and also do social media on the side to support the animals. However, this expense is more than we can afford. PT as well and medication’s are adding up as well.

I am a 100% disabled veteran of the Iraq War. I have had a German Shepard since I was stationed in Germany for 4 years. My parents took her while I was in Iraq. When I came back stateside she became my service dog. I have been blessed to be able to get a new one each time they aged out or passed away. I got Luna 6 months ago and have been working with her since she came home with me. 6 weeks ago Luna chewed and swallowed so of her blanket in her kennel. It formed a blockage and she need surgery. Care credit gave me $4,900 and her surgery cost $5,000. I am on a fixed income and am struggling to make those payments. This afternoon while I was asleep she got her collar off and chewed it up and swallowed it. We are at the vet now and I don’t know what they are going to have to do Luna is still a little skittish around people she doesn’t know but we are working very hard on that. She is a sweet puppy that is 100% attached to me. She never gives me any trouble and constantly thinks she needs to eat. 😂 I thought I had her safe now. Nothing is left open or laying around and there are no blankets to be found. I just fell asleep! As a disabled veteran I live on a fixed income. After paying all my bills there isn’t a lot left. I am paying care credit off and have no other means of getting credit. I don’t know what to do! I can’t just let her die! What do I do?

I was at a neighbors Halloween party he was very intoxicated as some point a little cat not even a year old running through the back yards the host pulled a gun out and started threatening to shoot the cat, i called the cat to me with the pss pss pss called and picked him upand said "THIS MY CAT NOW PUT YOUR GUN AWAY" and that was 10 years ago hes been with me he is best friends with my other cats Shroddy about a week ago and counting decided he wanted to lick through an entire brand new roll of paper towels and now he has an gastrointestinal blockage. Shroddy is one of the most loving cats he loves his adopted brothers and sisters and will constantly give them head kisses showing his affection to him. he loved to lay with you and purr and he loves to play with springs and chase after a dog leash being dragged across the floor.. he is a very silly kitty and very loving.. I took him to the emergency vet and they charged me 700 and they did very little for him drew blood and they drained fluid from his abdomen and gave him sub-q fluids, i believe he has a blockage due to ingesting the paper towels. i have insurance but have to pay up front

Got daisy from a good farm I have disabilities and she's been there gets me through things. I have had daisy for three years she enjoys her toys tv eating drinking watching her birds out the window and keeps an eye on everyone.she's my life what keeps me going. Hoping you can help her. She's caring kind loving and had her sister here with her. She loves her blanket and little pillow and cat bed. She's friendly playful respectful of others and loves watching you cook or do dishes even vacuum she's really amazing It would mean the world if everyone could help I need daisy in my life she helps my health and is very special to me I can imagine being without her. Meet Gunner, a rescue dog turn service dog. He's been really healthy and only has to see the vet for shots. We just found out he probably has lymphoma, or cancer. We need to do whatever it takes to save him. We just had the tests today and will find out more on Wednesday. The vet says it could cost up to $10,000. We just left our vets office, Neffsville animal hospital and we're recommended to contact the emergency vet office in Lancaster. Gunner has been the best dog ever. No matter what was asked of him in training, he excelled. He's loved by everyone he meets. He's been the best dog, best friend anyone can ask for. He comforts people and other dogs too. He has way too much to live for. His story isn't over. We're a week by week family, getting by as we can. I'm not sure how we will pay for this but we'll do all we can for him. He deserves to be healthy and live many more years.
