Ricky

Ricky is a 3 year old American Shorthair in Ephrata, , who needs $1,500 for PU Surgery.

Ephrata

I got Ricky from the family who found them abandoned, who did not want him because they said he was too clingy. He was not clingy. He was just so loving and kind so we brought him home and me and my daughter are absolutely head over heels in love with him he’s a good boy he likes to lay and cuddleif you’re upset and you call his name, he’ll come running to comfort you. He’s a very good boy Ricky at one time had gone paralyzed from the waist down and we basically drained everything we had to nurse him back to health. He’s been OK for about a year now but just recently he had a hard time going to the bathroom. We took him to Vetco they took a little bit of urine out sent us home with a prescription for urinary food yesterday he stopped eating. He stopped going to the bathroom. Ricky is so special because he’s so loving and kind and accepting of all the other pets. He likes to cuddle with our dog cash. He likes to cuddle with all of us and he likes to play and he does his biscuits and if you call his name when you’re sad. He will come running to comfort you. He’s so gentle and loving and kind. He’s one of the most wonderful cats I could ever wish for I lost my job and I spent the last month and a half trying so hard to get into another. I basically drained everything that I had available and now i started a new job today, but they won’t be able to pay me for three weeks cause it’s biweekly and he doesn’t have that long.

Pepper

Pepper is a 6 month old Shiba Inu in Annville, PA, who needs $2,000 for Orthopedic Fracture Repair.

Annville, PA

I got Pepper from a family who couldn’t take care of her due to health reasons. She was just 4 months old and needed a new family. I was looking for a pet and so it was perfect timing for her and I. We live together in my 2 bedroom apartment and she’s been well adjusted. I came home from work one day and noticed she was favoring her right front leg by not putting any weight on it. Concerned, I picked her up and it was just dangling. We immediately went to the Hershey Animal Emergency Center and she was x-rayed and diagnosed with a Long oblique mid diaphyseal humeral fracture that will need surgery to repair. I just don’t have the money for it. Pepper came into my life at a time I needed a companion. I moved to a new city and started a new job and she became my best friend and helped me get situated. Her energy is unmatched. Pepper is an appropriate name! She’s lovey, hyper at times, a big licker, and loves to run, jump, and play. She loves visits from my parents, friends and neighbors! She’s not herself right now. She’s sad and in pain. This came at an unexpected time (as these things do) and I just wasn’t prepared to spend so much at once. Her surgery is the price of a decent used car. It would mean the world to Pepper and I if someone could help us with this. I can’t stand seeing her in so much pain.

Photo of Coconut (Her Ladyship)

Coconut (Her Ladyship)

Coconut (Her Ladyship) is a 9-year-old Domestic Long Hair Cat in Linwood, PA, who needs $2,000 for Treatment for Bone Cancer.

Linwood, PA

Coconut traveled over 25 hours by plane to come to the US from Thailand. She had escaped being stollen & sold into the cat meat trade but not before being hit so hard, her eyes were bulging from their sockets. When she was saved her eyes were too damaged to be saved & had to be removed. She adapted well to her new life. When she recovered I adopted her & she flew to NYC then driven to our home. Coconut quickly became royalty & gained the title, Her Ladyship. She mapped her new home quickly. She became friends with the other furry family members & plays with toys with them. She has a velvet covered throne where she reigns over her subjects. Everyone who meets her, falls in love with her. Cocnut earned the nickname White Fluff Ball of Suffocation - because she snuggles so close you can't breathe. And then she drools all over you. She has no fear. She climbs, jumps & plays like the others. She amazes me every day. I wonder how she managed to fly over 25 hours to get here when she loudly complains about a 15 min. car ride to the vet. A few yrs ago, her liver began to fail. Months with a feeding tube, tests & meds. brought her back. But now, wht began as a mild limp has become either a serious bone infection or cancer. She needs a bone biopsy which could require or cause amputation. We all agree the biopsy is the best place to start for a definite diagnosis. If we try treating it as infection, we risk the cancer progressing. Like most, I live paycheck to 3 days before paycheck. Biopsy est. $500. Amputation est. $2000. Chemo est. $3200 per treatment. This amazing cat is so much more than just a pet. She's been through more than her share of hell and deserves to live a long life.
