Zoey
Zoey is a 9 year old American Bulldog in lakewood, CO, who needs $2,000 for TPLO.
lakewood, CO
Zoey joined our family on our daughter Skylla’s 5th birthday. We met a litter in a neighbor’s yard; she sprinted to Skylla and sat at her feet, so we knew she was ours. We’re a family of four with a big fenced yard and a dog park nearby; no other pets. Named for her zippy spirit, she answers to “Pillow Princess.” She loves calm paddle-board rides and gives gentle nose-taps to crawl under the cover Zoey was diagnosed with a cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) tear in her rear leg at [Hospital/Clinic Name]. Our vet recommends TPLO surgery (~$5,000) to stabilize the knee and stop her pain. This isn’t a chronic illness—it's a surgical fix—but timing matters to prevent arthritis. She’s otherwise healthy. We’re heartbroken and simply want her walking comfortably again. Zoey is our daughter Skylla’s shadow—gentle, goofy, and unfailingly kind. She greets the kids after school, then burrows under a pillow fort to snore beside us. At night she gives a tiny nose-tap asking to slip under the covers; in summer she sits regal on the paddle board. She’s calm at the dog park, loves a squeaky fox and peanut-butter treats, and when someone’s sad she leans in like a warm, we Recent cuts to my hours at Ace Hardware, while I build a small Medicare agency, drained our savings. With our teen’s new-driver costs, we have no emergency fund. Zoey’s $5,000 TPLO is beyond us. Getting her healthy would restore our home’s calm and joy.

Sadie
Sadie is a 6-year-old German Shepard in Golden, CO, who needs $1,200 for TPLO (ACL) surgery.
Golden, CO
I got sadie when she was just 3 weeks old. I drove over 200 miles to pick her up and instantly realized that she was sick and alot younger then the people were telling me. I paid for her just to get her out of the situation, soon to turn around and have her at the vet the first week we had her. I was currently pregnant with my now 5 year old son and they have an amazing bond. Sadie loves outdoors and loves to play with her brothers (one German Shepard and my 5 year old son) she sleeps in the bed with my son as she will not leave his side, she is a registered support animal for him and they spend every waking moment together. We have spent our entire family life with her as our baby and couldn't imagine life without her. Due to covid I lost my job and am having some difficulty getting something new considering I am 6 months pregnant with my little girl. It would truly mean the world to my family if Sadie was healthy. I am not sure what my son would do if she was no longer here... Sadie tore her ACL about 2 months ago, we have been having to keep her confined into our room which makes no play time. The amount of surgery we had gotten before was very expensive; luckily I found Red Rocks Animal Center. I have saved up due to covid and losing my job. I am currently actively searching for something. Sadie loves her bones and will be so content with them. She also loves laser pointers and it would keep her busy for hours. Along with any type of shadows. She has been very sad since she hasn't been able to play with her brothers or do any activities that she loves because she is in too much pain.

Beasley
Beasley is a 4-year-old American bulldog mix in Thornton, CO, who needs $2,000 for TPLO surgery.
Thornton, CO
In 2015 we were not looking for a dog. A co worker found an ad for Beasley and thought she was cute- so she showed my husband! Something about her face made us go meet her. Within 5 minutes it was apparent that the family “selling” her was also abusing her. She was a Christmas puppy that wasn’t working out (who expects an 11 year old to potty train a puppy??!!). We took her home that day. Beasley loves her family! She and her pit bull sister bonded almost immediately. She is still scared of strangers due to her past but has made great strides. Due to this we were unsure how she would act when we brought home our baby the first time. Any concerns vanished. She and the baby are best friends and she does anything to make him laugh! She’s the heart of our home. Last year our son was born prematurely at 30 weeks. We were unprepared. His hospital stay was almost 3 months long and left us with a huge looming bill, maxed out care credits and tons of medical debt. Beasley has helped our son to grow, communicate and learn to walk. Beasley tore her ACL in the beginning of the Covid pandemic. The surgeon was not performing surgeries so we were forced to wait. While waiting, she tore the other ACL due to pressure she was putting on her other leg. For preventative care we use Banfield Orchards in Westminster, CO. They diagnosed both ACL. Her surgery will be at Red Rocks Animal Center in Lakewood, CO. Beasley will let our son chase her in his walker- just to make him laugh. Every night she sleeps between my husband and I (under the covers and on the pillows no less). Sometimes she snores so loud I mistake it for my husband! When she gets excited and runs around her jowls flap around and she gets crazy zoomies! She is truly the happiest dog.

Mercedes
Mercedes is a 6-month-old Boxer/Heeler Mix in Aurora, CO, who needs $700 for Femoral head osteotomy .
Aurora, CO
Mercedes is a rescue from New Mexico I adopted her from the Colorado puppy rescue which is an amazing puppy rescue. Mercedes is 6 months old and is added to a family of five children. So technically she's the baby because my youngest is 1 years old. Mercedes is full of life. She likes to share toys and food with the baby their besties. Mercedes loves to play fetch to love taking walks with me and the baby and the kids. She's an outdoorsy dog and very smart. She can sit in the yard with no leash and she knows the difference between baby and play. Her favorite thing to do is sleep of course. But she loves all of her toys and the babies. Unfortunately I'm the only one working in the house right now I'm a mom of 5. Covid hit my hours were reduced extremely for March through May. This was so unexpected and unfortunately I'm drowning in bills right now. She needs surgery I refuse to amputate she deserves this! Unfortunately back in April of 2020 Mercedes was hit by a car while eating snow on the curb in front of our house. The car slid and hit her right in front of our house on the sidewalk. We brought her into the Red Rocks Vet Clinic and they said that she was fine and would recover but had a small fracture upper hip. But unfortunately when we brought her back he stated that she would now need surgery Mercedes is so special because she's very calm mannered and aware of her surroundings. She doesn't bark or make noise unless she's sleeping and chasing something in her dreams. She has a very calm Spirit to her, and seems to follow the babies directions when it comes to pulling toilet paper around the house or finding a makeup sponge to eat. Then walking away and leaving the baby to take the blame

Zeppelin
Zeppelin is a 4-year-old Husky in Wheat Ridge, CO, who needs $3,400 for TPLO.
Wheat Ridge, CO
Zeppelin was a literal Christmas miracle! My husband and I had been living in Colorado for a about a year when we went to Texas to visit our families for Christmas. She was found by a cousin who tried to find her family for weeks but was going to take her to a shelter the next day. It took just one look for us to realize that she would have a happier life in Colorado as our girl! She is sweet and kind but most of all adventurous! It is amazing to watch her play with her cranky old schnauzer and with our toddler! Before her injury she was one of the best hiking Buddies a family could ask for! She is tolerant of all the crazy things our toddler does to her, including making her wear necklaces... Because she is a princess. Her personality is very spunky and loving. This was a very unexpected. We have a enough in savings to cover the cost of one leg. But the vet recommended that we get both procedures at once which has to be paid up front. We can hold off and save but she is in alot of day to day pain so we really can't put it off. Zeppelin has not just one but two torn ACLs. It came as a sudden and total shock to us because nothing specific caused the injury. One day she cried and limped a little bit in her walk but then seemed like nothing was wrong. Over the next week we noticed that she would favor it. We took her into the vet thinking it was arthritis and learned instead that she may have had a genetic disposition. Zeppelin will literally tell you all about it! She talks anytime she feels like she needs attention and sometimes just to talk to the toddler. Her blue eyes make people melt and her sweet playful nature make you never want to stop petting her. On the trails or walking the sidewalk she is always interested in finding a new animal or human to play with!

Ruby Jean
Ruby Jean is a 1-year-old Boxer mix in Durango, CO who needs $4,200 for bilateral ligament repair surgery .
Durango, CO
Ruby Jean is a one year old Boxer mix that is my Emotional Support dog.. One day while we were walking she had gotten caught up in her leash and while I was trying to help her she ran off toward a family of deer. The mother deer attacked Ruby Jean and was hooving her hind legs. She ran back to me and I had to chase the deer away. After that incident she was playing with a neighbor’s dog and yelped. I took her to vet and she had torn her right acl. So we put her on medication and then she was not allowed to run for 21/2 months. After time had passed I slowly let her start running a little bit at a time. Then one afternoon I played ball with her in a field and when we got home she could barely walk of either of her back legs! I immediately took her back to the vet to get x-rayed and now she has torn both her ACL’s and needs a TPLO orthopedic surgery that costs $4200 and I am unable to afford this. I have set up a GoFundMe page on fb but haven’t really gotten any response. I was told by the Red Rocks Vet in northern Colorado that Waggle was able to help another fur baby with the same exact injury. I need your help getting my story out to save my dogs legs. Please help me I’m desperate.

Sterling
Sterling is a 5-year-old Nebelung cat in Lakewood, CO, who needs $1,000 for dental cleaning, teeth extractions, bloodwork, a biopsy of a lesion on his tongue, pain medication, and microchip with registration.
Lakewood, CO
Sterling was one of two cats given to me in September 2019. I was told he had dental problems and the foster mom said she would cover the expenses. In the short period I have been blessed with his company he has been extremely skittish and will not allow me to handle him. The foster mom has come on some hard times as well, both medically and financially and she still has 5 other foster cats to care for. Sterling was desperately underweight when he arrived and I immediately began feeding him small amounts of wet, canned food several times a day. This was followed by a little more trust in me, however, he drooled constantly and I had to bathe him; he soon stopped grooming altogether. I was able to get him to the vet his foster mom uses and he is familiar with. I was told he had developed severe gingivitis and a lesion on his tongue which made it nearly impossible for him to eat or drink water. The vet's assistant injected a small amount of fluids between Sterling's shoulder blades. He will need blood tests to check his liver and kidney function, the vet wants a biopsy of his tongue, and eventually he must have all of his teeth removed. We were given antibiotics and pain relievers for one week, which were completed Sunday, January 12. I have to leave the room when I feed Sterling or he will not even approach his dish. The remnants of food in his water dish suggest he is getting some water. About halfway through the antibiotic/pain medications, Sterling began gobbling the wet food I put down for him with some Kitten Milk Replacement powder mixed into it. He has since been able to lap up some water and is more active. I have gradually increased the amount of food I give him and now he is eating a full can of wet food a day. I feed him when he comes to see me on the couch and bed and now he races to the kitchen, talking constantly and standing on his hind legs while I mix his food. I have noticed he is attempting to groom as well, however, some fur has gotten stuck on one of the loose teeth protruding from his lower jaw, yet he will not allow me to get close enough to his mouth to remove it. Since coming home from the vet he has allowed me to bathe him very limitedly and brush him for short periods, and only if I am lying down. I work with him from the couch, on the living room floor, and from the bed. Last night I noticed a swollen area that looks like a cyst or boil next to his anus. It is not oozing but must be painful. During the day and especially when he seems more fearful than usual and/or when I leave the apartment, I play Cat Relaxation music which includes soft music, sounds of nature such as birds chirping, and purring vibrations that repeat regularly throughout the 15+ hour long recording. He really seems to relax a little more each time he comes out of hiding while the music plays. It is my belief that Sterling has been abused and neglected by the previous owner or someone who was allowed contact with him on a regular basis. I was not prepared for such an extremely frightened and unhealthy cat, and I do not have the financial options available as I did not get insurance coverage prior to receiving these boys in my life.

Princess
Princess is a 1-year-old English Bulldog in Denver, CO, who needs $2,000 for TPLO surgery and patella laxation.
Denver, CO
Hi my name is Princess and here is my story. I was 10 weeks old when I met my forever family for the first time. We have been inseparable every since. I had a rare condition called "cork screw tail", and had to have a major surgery to have it amputated. I need another surgery and finances to cover

Kilo
Kilo is a 6-year-old Boxer in Northglenn, CO, who needs $1,950 for tibial-plateau-leveling osteotomy surgery.
Northglenn, CO
Hi! I’m Kilo, I am named after the Company my uncle was in when my humans got me. My uncle is still in the Marines, but not in Kilo Company anymore. I’m a 6 year old white Boxer. No, I’m not blind or deaf! I am male and neutered, thanks to my mom. I’m still very puppy like but my bum knee is slowing me down. You see about 9 months ago, I feel off mom and dad’s bed and hurt myself. The Vet says I tore my Cruciate Ligament and need to have surgery to repair it. We’ve been trying all the non surgical options, but it is getting worse. I’ve been with my humans since I was 3 months old. They came to where I was born just to look, but I turned on my charm and dad convinced mom to bring me home. Best decision they ever made!!! I love trips to Starbucks with my mom, long walks by the lake with my dad or brother, jumping on the trampoline with my other brother and sister, and taking naps and playing my fur sisters Abbie and Zya. My dad has been a stay at home dad my whole life and mom has been home with me too for the last 10 months. I’m the luckiest Boxer ever!!

Peanut
Peanut is a 7-year-old toy chihuahua in Denver, CO, who needs $2,000 for an emergency C-section and spay.
Denver, CO
I have had peanut since she was 8 weeks old and she is more like my baby then my pet. I couldn't imagine my life without my peanut and my kids would be devastated. Peanut was a Christmas gift to my son and has been with us for 7 years. We gave her the name peanut because she was so tiny and cute. When she was still a pup peanut would wait at the door hoping someone wouldn't notice her trying to sneak out so you would have to chase her. She loves being chased around the yard and this became a game to her.
