Samhain
Samhain is a 1 year old Siamese in Albuquerque, NM, who needs $2,000 for ER Care.
Albuquerque, NM
Samhain was born in October 31st 2025. A homeless mommy kitty came on to our deck and gave birth to 5 little ones. The rest of the kittens found loving homes, and Samhain stayed with us. Momma kitty got spayed and stayed as well. Samhain has been losing weight, won't eat or drink and is very lethargic. He needs emergency care today. We took him to a ER vet and they wouldn't see him without a 180.00 deposit. I'm in the process of getting disability and have no income at this time, I was homeless for 4 years due to mental illness, but have housing now. I have no way to help my best friend. Samhain has made me feel like a human again. When i was homeless people were pretty cruel to me and I didn't feel like a human, I didn't think I deserved any type of love either, but Samhain changed that. Having him has made my heart whole again. He makes me feel like I am important and that I matter. I never thought I'd feel like that again. I live with no income except for food stamps and $200.00 month that goes towards feeding my cats and taking care of my apartment. I have no emergency funds or savings. I love this cat more than anything and I'm scared he's suffering.

Aurora
Aurora is a 2 year old American Pit Bull Terrier in Albuquerque, NM, who needs $2,000 for Cruciate Ligament Repair.
Albuquerque, NM
We rescued Aurora in the summer of 2023, thinking she was a beagle mix. She was tiny, sweet, and fit right into our family. But she kept growing—and growing! After a DNA test, we learned she’s actually a pit bull and Australian cattle dog mix. She’s much bigger than we expected, but we wouldn’t trade her for anything. She lives with my parents and me, along with several cats and another young puppy. Earlier this year, Aurora began limping and seemed to be in pain. We took her to VCA Pet Hospital, where she was diagnosed with torn ligaments in both of her knees—an issue common in her breed. We had no idea she was at risk when we adopted her. So far, we’ve spent nearly $2,000 just to get her X-rayed and diagnosed, and she still needs major surgery to repair her knees and live without pain. Her Aurora is pure joy wrapped in a big, wiggly body. She’s a bed hog who insists on being spooned. She’s afraid of the dark and absolutely hates baths—she hides as soon as she hears the water running. She’s also the queen of squeaky toys and throws impressively gross farts that clear the room. Her favorite treat is yogurt, and she’ll do anything for a bone. She gets along with our other pets, follows Our family has been hit hard this past year. In early 2023, my dad suffered a serious accident and broke his neck. He can no longer work, and after his insurance ran out, everything changed financially. I’m starting college in August, and I know we can’t afford the surgery.

Charlie
Charlie is a 7 month old Mix-Breed in Bernalillo, NM, who needs $2,000 for Emergency Endoscopy.
Bernalillo, NM
We rescued Charlie and his two siblings from their mom who kept moving them from place to place. One of his siblings got a weed stuck under her eye. We took them in and treated her eye. We rehoused his siblings but didn’t find anyone to take him so we kept him. He was messing them my beading stuff. I didn’t have the case properly closed. He dumped it out on the table. He must have tried tasting the beads and accidentally swallowed the needle. He is beloved by everyone because he is cuddly. He loves exploring and playing. He likes sitting by the window watching people and other animals. He greets us when we come home. I’m currently not employed and make a living off my artwork. I do not have funds to support emergency medical care for Charlie. I don’t even have the $180 for an initial exam.
