We adopted Ferguson from Rosenberg animal shelter in July 2023. His name was "Fence" as he had been found by the animal control when he was stuck on a wire fence. He was very timid, but I fell in love with his big ear tufts! And decided he is coming home with us. Ferguson shares his home with one other cat, Poppy and our two dogs Mikah and Max. Ferguson first got sick January 2025. We rushed him to the vet and turns out he had an urinary tract blockage, which was treated by unblocking him but due to his off-the-charts liver function numbers, had to spend 3 days in the animal hospital at Rose Rich animal hospital in Richmond, TX. He had another blockage in October 2025, and again in February 2026. Ferguson loves to chill and he is very affectionate cat. He gets along great with the others, he loves to jump on my husband Richard's lap while he is on the computer working on stuff, and loves to hang out with me when I'm painting. He was super awesome when we got our other kitty, Poppy, and we can often find them snuggled up together on a chair. Getting him well would mean the world to us. The emergency vet bills have caused a financial strain on us, which makes affording the surgery very difficult. I'm concerned he'll block again before we can save up enough to get him the surgery he needs.
