Rocky came into my life 8 years ago, at an adoption fair just sitting in the middle of all of the chaos. He was calmly sitting in the pen full of dogs just staring up at me and wagging his tail. I fell in love with his eyes and his demeanor and immediately asked about him. They said he was still available and the rest is history. He’s truly the best thing that ever happened to me. He has a skin infection affecting all 4 paws. They were all bleeding and cracked. I took him to Sandy Paws Animal Hospital in NC and they are prescribing him an antibiotic as well as a steroid. He has been here for me through losing my dad, brother, multiple friends, and 2 of my 15 year old cats. He gives me a reason to get up and he makes my days brighter even when things feel too difficult to face. He is always dancing and playing with my other cats and overall he truly is the light of this house. I just lost my 15 year old cats, Sox and Tommy, this past summer. I am paying off Tommy’s memorial still and I have another 15 year old named Lexi who also has medical issues that I am paying off. With almost a total of 1k I am already paying off, I don’t have much else

Gunnar, our lovable golden retriever, captured our hearts at 8 weeks old, the day before our wedding. Alongside Xena, his Aussie sibling, he brought boundless joy. Tragically, we lost Xena to Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis (HGE) in Dec 2023. Gunnar remains our cherished companion, now a playful 5-year-old, showering us with affection and warmth, bringing endless happiness to our family. Gunnar was diagnosed with a cancerous Mast Cell Tumor on Nov 5th. Surgery is scheduled for Nov 21st at Sandy Paws Animal Hospital in Wilmington, NC. We're anxiously hoping for clear margins, ensuring the cancer is fully eradicated, and Gunnar can recover and thrive once again. Gunnar, our adorable golden retriever, is a bundle of love and energy! He's incredibly cuddly and thrives on attention. His favorite pastimes include lounging with our toddler and us, but he transforms into a playful powerhouse when squeaky toys appear! Plush toys, however, meet their demise at his enthusiastic paws. Since my husband's military-to-civilian transition, finances have been tight. Losing Xena in Dec 2023 drained our resources. Gunnar's cancer diagnosis weighs heavily. Your support for surgery would be a lifeline! Our hearts still healing, losing Gunnar would be unbearable.

On April 27th, I saw a tiny little dark thing in the middle of a busy road. As I got closer, I realized it was a kitten! I pulled over & the kitten ran to the ditch bank & hid. I picked her up & she clung to me. I looked around &didn't see mama cat or sibs. I fell in love with her immediately! Named her Evie, means Life, Living, Lively. She was meant to be my fur baby &now also has 2 cat sibs! She acclimated after a couple of days &ventured out of the hall bath I had put her in so she could get used to it here&smell the other two cats under the door. That's when I noticed a squishy movable small lump by her back left leg. I thought it was an abscess. It got larger by the next day, so I took her to the vet. Turns out it is an inguinal hernia & she needs surgery asap because of it's size She is a cuddler! She loves to be held& be wherever I am at. I work from home &she has a bed up on my desk because she doesn't like to be far away. She is a talker too! She will wake up from a na then meow with all her might to get my attention letting me know it is time for more kitten wet food! She loves to eat, play, &also loves to be close to the other female cat,Luna, she is loving Evie too! The est. is $2,445 - $2,565 & is an unexpected, sudden expense. I had to take her to the vet May 3rd because I was concerned if it was an abscess, it may burst, it couldn't wait to get pet insurance going 1st before taking her& the surgery is needed asap bc hernia is large
