Poppy

Poppy is a 7 year old Pug in Woodbridge, CT, who needs $2,000 for Bladder Stone Surgery.

Woodbridge, CT

We met Poppy when she was only 3 months old. A former friend of mine had gotten her, but when he decided to move on, she stayed with my son and I. She was just over a year old at that point, and quickly became the love of our lives. She is our best friend and sleeps in bed with me every night. My son is almost 13 now and loves his "Poppers" so much. Poppy started exhibiting UTI symptoms, first blood in urine and then not able to produce urine. We ended up at an ER vet and with another UTI diagnosis and antibiotics. 5 days later she was still exhibiting symptoms so off to Shore Haven Vet for follow up and blood work. Another week later, back for imaging which revealed bladder stones. Stones are out for testing and surgery is recommended now. Poppy has this innate ability to just know when you need her to come up and cuddle with you. She is the best snuggler you could ever ask for. She loves to join us "at work" resting her head on my work laptop and my son's school laptop. It may be harder to type that way, but makes the time so much more enjoyable. She loves to play tug of war and loves pets from absolutely everyone! I'm a single mom, who has been struggling for some time. Cost of living keeps rising but without comparable wage raises, my rent has also increased. I have spent 1400 to make sure we had all the proper testing, but have no way to make up all that we need for the surgery

Kenji

Kenji is 2-year-old Welsh Pembroke corgi in East Haven, CT, who needs $1,200 for the treatment of severe wounds that were incurred when he was attacked by a neighbor's dog.

CT

Kenji is our Pembroke Welsh Corgi, born on February 9, 2017. Since the first day we saw him, we completely fell in love with him. He has a sweet, kind, and gentle look that melts our hearts with love. Kenji is very so friendly and lovable. On every walk he will approach everyone he sees just to say hi with a shy and friendly look. Even if he sees someone from far away, he will sit and wait until they are close enough to shower them with some of his sweetness. He has won the hearts and love of everyone who knows him and meet him on his walks. He is the sweetest companion we can ever have wished for. Always full of love!. When we walk, he walks next to us even when doing chores around the house. When we sit, he sits close putting his chin on our feet and lifting up his eyes to look at us as if saying “I love you” … Just warms our hearts every time. He will make you feel welcome and loved when you get home. When he hears a car parking he will run to the window to see who is coming home and starts shaking his fluffy butt Corgis are known for and then runs to the door to greet everyone with enthusiasm. Who doesn’t like to be received with so much happiness and love?. We love him so much. Kenji is happy and energetic so there is never a boring day with him home. He will run from room to room with a burst of energy sticking his tongue out and with that smile Corgis are also known for. We can’t help but to laugh with joy at his short legs moving so fast he almost looks like he is flying. We cannot resist to hug him and kiss him which is something he loves too; no such thing as too much love with Kenji. He fills our home with so much love and happiness. He loves to play with his toys. One of his favorite toys is his peppa pig plushy he’s had since he was a little puppy. He will bring it to us to invite us to play, so we start to chase him pretending we want to take his plushy away. Sometimes he will just walk fast instead of running, swinging his fluffy butt from side to side and turning his head to see how far we are and starts running once we are close; of course we know he is just giving us a chance to catch up. Kenji’s other favorite toy is an empty gallon of water he pushes around running from room to room making a big riot. When the bottle stops rolling, he will start barking at it waiting for it to start rolling again. Playing hide and seek is probably his favorite game. He will run to every room sniffing every possible hiding place. He gets very excited and starts wiggling his stumpy tail when he finds whoever is hiding. Kenji also loves to go to the park for long walks and running with Brandon, my 7 year old son who is crazy about him. At the playground the kids gather around Kenji to pet him; He just sits and enjoys all the love and attention. Kenji loves the snow as much as he loves the park. He loves to jump like a bunny in the snow and roll around on it. His happiness is always so contagious.
