One day I opened my neighborhood app and saw someone had posted a picture of Zeus. They had found him wandering around the neighborhood and had captured him. I gave her my name and phone number.The humane society called me 2 days later and told me, he was chipped but the owner could no longer care for him. I got in my son's car and went straight there where he greeted me with a big face lick! Zeus has a tumor growing inside his right anal gland. I thought it was just impacted but it's filled with tumors. His bloodwork looks good but he needs surgery to remove it asap. It is growing so its concerning and is now pretty large. The estimate for the surgery is $597.23 min to $800.57 baring any unexpected problems. They will remove the entire right anal gland. He is in pain and discomfort. Zeus holds my heart. He is always by my side and is my walking buddy. He is so smart, protective of me a little and listens to me talk without talking back. I cannot image my life without him. I am a senior on social security with health issues and live check to check. I do work 1 day a week for 6 hours to help buy things I need. I would be lost without my little Zeus and just need to have him healthy again. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Ten years ago I had this beautiful baby girl come into my life. She’s been healthy but lately she’s been choking a lot and that scares me with her age which is why I need to take her to the vet. I want them to examine her and maybe run some tests to make sure my piggy baby is ok. She likes to spend her mornings watching cat tv on YouTube and her afternoons lounging in sunspots…she sits where she fits and I often find her on the windowsill behind our couch. When she’s anxious she likes to be rocked like a baby and she used to be quite vocal until the coughing fits started. I don’t know what I’d do if anything ever happened to her. I’m aiming for an appointment with The Animal Clinic here on Galveston Island. They have payment plans and the cats actually have their very own clinic. I’m on disability with a part time job, but that barely covers my rent and my baby really needs a check up. I have to know she’s ok, I’m sure I could have several more years with her if I can get this taken care of.

My girl Stinka Tink came into my family 5 years ago. I saw a sign that said "Pitt Bull puppies" so I stopped. While I was looking at all the puppies, Stinka Tink just sat at the bottom of this tall wooden crate that the owner had made while all the rest of them was jumping up. At the bottom of the crate was a lot of urine and feces where Stinka Tink was and I pointed to her, she stank so bad. Stinka Tink shares a bedroom with her brother and sister. She sleeps on a queen size bed with her sister Zena. They have their own bedroom, queen size bed and a TV that stays on the animal planet channel all the time. Stinka Tink is very timid, she is always checking things out before she goes out the door to go potty. She will stop and look for anything that might be different or out of place The only friends she has is her brother, sister, a bird, a cat and her cousin Baby Girl. She plays a lot with her brother but not so much with the other ones. She really makes me laugh when she wants to eat or a treat, she will grunt like a pig. If you ignore her it makes her mad and then she will start barking. Stinka Tink is a diabetic getting insulin twice a day. I found a big lump on her neck one morning and it really scared me so I to her to the vet and they drew some fluid from it thinking it might be cancerous. Sent it off to be tested and it came back as an infection from something. Thank God! The vet gave her antibiotics and it finally went down. I am on a fixed income and I have a bill due with the Animal Clinic in Galveston and I am not able to pay the bill. I am having financial trouble just keeping up with her insulin, syringes and her special food she has to eat which is Hills WD.

I LOVE dogs! I am partial to a few different breeds—Pomeranians are one of my favs! While visiting my family in DFW, I saw a post on the Galveston Island Humane Society's web page of "Mimi~found female Pom wandering around in Randall's Grocery. No collar, tags, chip. Please contact if yours or interested." I called, left a message on their voicemail & on my way home, I received the call. She has been happy here ever since! Gidget (which means small female surfer) aka Mimi, got her new name since she lives on an island, & I've tried to give my pets beachy names. She was one of "the pack" from the get go! She loves my other Pom, Gisabella, like a sister, she chases my kitten Kika & absolutely adores my other 3—Bodhi (Aust Cattle Dog), Gypsy (rescue Staffordshire Terrier) & Buddy (adopted Great Dane). The feeling's mutual!! The hits just kept coming: Pandemic, winter storm (week's wages lost), vet bills for ill & dying cat & dog, water leak (2x's) & now a gas leak, a broken tail bone, and a torn meniscus in my knee! I LOVE Gidget, and she depends on me to keep her safe—I depend on her to make it all worthwhile! When Gidget went in for last vaccinations, Dr. Martinez at The Animal Clinic examined a lump on her back upper leg that I located & it was concerning due to its physiology. We decided to just "keep an eye on it" at that time. In 6 months, it doubled in size, and the physiology changed dramatically! It was recommended that it be removed and have it biopsied to see if it's malignant or benign. That way, there would only be one surgery and a definite diagnosis. In the beginning, she was quiet & demure, but happy & content. Now, she demands! Talk about being a "TALKER!" She lets me know when she wants out or in, when she's hungry, or when she just wants to put her 2 cents worth in! And ADORABLE isn't the word! She is down right the character of the bunch when it's quiet or if she thinks it's getting boring! She also loves to sit outside while I garden! 💕

Neighbors had too many animals, eleven yrs ago. Put in my arms and kept him. My, buddy and best friend. Stayed under the bird cage the first night, about 4 months old, and growled at us. Told the neighbors the next day, I dont know about this. After my ex left, the pup came under the covers with me, and he's been crawling under the covers the same way for eleven years Good guard dog, eats other people or tries to scare them. Had friends call him the devil dog, but he's not. Protects my house. When I had to work two jobs, go to school prior, he never complained, and was a perfect pup. We lived through some tough years. Keeping a roof over are heads, and keeping a job. We both made it. But, Harley needs some help with his teeth right now. I'm by myself. Employed 15 wk, my Bill's are paid up; rent,ins, etcI dont have ins. But I need to take care of Har. Trying to make it through the last 10 weeks of college in electronics. Hopefully well find a better job and a better apt. With no floods, and crazy people outside Been healthy, hurt teeth right now, very stinky breath, I need to do something. Have the first consultation with the vet today about his teeth. Keep you'all informed. He's been attacked by loose wild dogs, and crazy people just in a split second, changing their route and quickly taking a foot swipe to him in a fraction of a second. Been a while, I live in the barrios of gal eston tx. Loves his squeaky toys especially, stinky. I think he knows English too well. I know after all these years being together, us two, he knows just about everything I say. Cant stop him from talking, if someone tries to talk to me, typical man, guess he learned that from the boys. Good stinky mix dog, hates baths, but use to get him to the beach and rinse him off.

Zena is the daughter to Boomboom which passed away from Seizures. Zena has been in my life since birth and she is now 11 years old. The same age that her Dad was when he passed. Zena has her own Queen size bed and her own bedroom with a TV that is own Animal planet 24 hours 7 days a week, shares room with Conan. Zena shares her bedroom with her step brother Conan. They have their own bedroom, Zena has a Queen size bed and Conan has his own kennel. They have their own TV and it stays on the animal planet day and night. Zena is really more of a loner but when she feels good she will come out of her room and play. I live alone and I am on Social Security and with the pet bills that I already have with Stinka ( she is a diabetic and has to be given insulin twice a day) and with Conan having allergies real bad and getting his medication, it is really becoming unbearable. Zena's medical situation is still being diagnosed. I only know right now that she has a tumor on her under carriage. The name of the Vet Clinic is call the Animal Clinic and her vet is Dr. Fistein. Zena is behind on all of her shots and heart guard as well as her flea medication. I do know that Zena has some teeth decaying. Zena makes me very happy because she is the off spring of Boomboom which was my protector and when I had my strokes he never left my side. Zena is more of a loner. She gets along with her brother and sister (Stinka) and when she is feeling good she will play and tussell around with them and have fun.
