I was able to take in a mom, who was injured with a severe facial wound/abscess and very sick with a litter of 6 babies she was doing her best to take care for while in such rough shape. A few days later, 3 kittens sadly passed within 72 hours despite fluids, antibiotics and all the supportive care I had within my wheelhouse. Lock, Shock and Barrel were the only ones who thrived and survived. Shock’s favorite place to play, sit, get loves is on my feet. Because of the unknown cause of FKS in the kuttermates, they are still separated from the whole household until clean bills of health, vaccinations and deworming treatments. But she is first at the door to great me every single time. Shock is sweet. She is curious and brave and has never let her tiny size get the best of her. She loves to boop her nose on fingers and then get all the chin rubs. At her 6 week check today, was diagnosed with a grade 3-4 heart murmur, likely being PDA. Left untreated, this can develop into congested heart failure and a short life. She is currently in the care of Dr. Klone at Tomorrow’s Veterinary Care in Waverly, Nebraska. Kevin Christiansen, DVM may be the one to see Shock for a cardiologist exam in Omaha, NE. I am a single person orphaned kitten rescue. All funds are from donations, adoption fees and anything extra I have to spare from my own pocket. Dr. Klone is kind enough to allow small balances on our veterinary account when needed.
