I wanted a bloodhound so badly, but heart and soul, remained committed to adopting rescues. Miraculously, I found a surrendered litter of bloodhounds at a New Orleans based rescue called Take Paws Rescue. Out of that litter, Putzy was the last remaining pup. On a cold blizzardy Colorado morning in February 2021, I hit the road to unite with my new beautiful baby boy, Beauxregard Buford Stephens. Just weeks before I was scheduled to have a major surgery, Beaux excitedly greeted the neighbor. His enthusiasm led him to jump from the mere two steps of the back porch. In his very random burst of energy, he landed hard and heavy on his right hindleg. He yelped in excruciating pain, and I immediately knew it caused a serious injury, a tear to his CCL. His surgery will take place at TPLO2GO. Beaux is a very special boy. He comes off as shy and awkward to strangers, but as he warms up, he lets his goofy side shine. He is loving, affectionate, and cares deeply for his baby sister Erzulie Laveaux (Zulie). He has developed a brotherly love with my roommate's pup, Taz, while remaining closely bonded with his other siblings in Louisiana. He is the epitome of unconditional love and drool. While asking for help is not in my repertoire, compounding financial burden has hit me all at once. Having Beaux happy and healthy again means the world to me, and I will to do whatever it takes to get him back on his feet, literally. Anything helps, and is appreciated!
