Sugar baby

Sugar baby is a 16 year old Mix-Breed in Creedmoor , NC, who needs $800 for Ultrasound and Exam.

Creedmoor, NC

My Sugar baby came into my life 16 yrs ago on July 24. My family found her and 2 others siblings in road Her and her sister live with me and my husband. Sugar went to Dabney Drive Animal Hospital on July 22 2026 and vet found large mass and took xray but xray doesn't tell what kind of mass and she needs ultrasound to determine what kind of mass so we know how to treat Sugar baby needs a ultrasound to determine what type of mass and how to treat. To help her eat more and not be in pain. I can't afford $500 -800 for a ultrasound Sugar baby love treats and loves to give kisses. Me and my husband are her two favorite people and her twin sister she loves like sister loves. She loves sun bathing too Me and my husband just don't have money for high vet expenses we barely have enough to pay bills. We love our Sugar baby it hurts our heart for to have medical needs and we are scrapping by.

Rickie

Rickie is a 3 year old American Longhair in Henderson, NC, who needs $7,000 for Emergency Linear Foreign Body.

Henderson, NC

Rickie was a stray we foster failed about 3 years ago. She is the sweetest most beautiful "baby kitty". She has two calico sisters, one cockerpoo sister and one human brother who all adore her. She is the "baby" of the family!! She loooves a treat and will chase you around the house meowing super loud until you go to the kitchen with her and give her a treat. She is currently waiting on emergency surgery in Durham NC at Triangle Vet Referral Hospital. This all started on the morning of 4/19! I woke up early am expecting to have three cats at my bedroom door meowing for food. When I realized Rickie wasn't there I panicked. Once I found her she wanted nothing to do with treats for food. I knew at that point this was NOT GOOD. Rickie escaped about a year ago and was gone for months. Our family was lost without her. She finally found her way back and hasn't tried to get away since. I think she realizes she wasn't made for the streets. The surgery is going to cost between $7-$9k. There was not a question on doing to surgery to save her. Now the question is how to pay for it. My goal is to raise any amount I can to help!

Nuki

Nuki is a 15 month old American Shorthair in Durham , NC, who needs $837 for Fluids, Anti-Nausea & Anti-Inflammatory Medication.

Durham, NC

I met this rascal last February when he was only 6 months old at the shelter. It only took a brief interaction for me to fall in love with him and the next day, he was arriving at his new home. When the shelter informed me his previous owner was neglectful enough to not go looking for him, I knew that I would give up my life for this special little guy. Shortly after I adopted Nuki, he suddenly contracted a fever and dehydration. His past medical history is sadly long yet vague. Due to his previous neglect, exposure to viruses and allergens with no vaccinations resulted in him having chronic ear infections. Without thought, I took him to an emergency clinic where they treated him. That is how I found myself unable to finish paying a $800+ bill. I named Nuki after my favorite childhood movie, My Neighbor Totoro, about a friendly tanuki (Japanese forest spirit) that is only visible to those with vivid imagination. He has brought the same wonderment and joy into my life that I will forever cherish. Nuki currently receives love from myself and my mom at home, while entertaining himself with the birds and squirrels on the enclosed patio. With the current state of this economy, I have tried and failed to find a second job to pay off his bills. Financial help would ensure I do not go into thousands of debt as a result of surpassing the 6 month promotional deferred interest deadline.

Liam

Liam is a 10 year old Mix-Breed in Durham, NC, who needs $2,000 for Emergency Care and Mandible Stabilization Surgery.

Durham, NC

Dylan and Natalie adopted Liam about 10 years ago from a local animal shelter. Anyone who knows them knows that he is the light of their life, center of their world, and that they love their cat babies fiercely. Liam was hit by a car Thursday evening, 3/27, and rushed to Triangle Veterinary Referral Hospital in Durham NC. While he is still being assessed, we know at least that his jaw has been broken to the point that it is in pieces. He also has a possible broken arm and contusion in is lungs. We are very hopeful that he will make a full recovers, but the road will be long and expensive. I don’t know how to put into worlds how special Liam is. He’s been with us through the majority of our relationship, every major milestone, and has greeted most of our friends and family at least once. He’s a wonderful big brother to our other rescue, Cooper. He’s sassy and loving and in our humble opinion - the best cat in the world. We are expecting this to cost upwards of 10k which we definitely don’t have. This is unfortunately on top of recent human hospital bills, hitting at the most inopportune time. While it feels strange to ask, we know we need community help with this.

Cookie

Cookie is a 7 year old Mix-Breed in Durham, NC, who needs $2,000 for Body Wall Hernia and Pyometra.

Durham, NC

We’ve had Cookie since she was about 2 weeks old, she comes from a very loving home. Her mother (owner) is in huge heartbreak in distress, she’s a single mother of two with both kids now in college, the only true baby left is Cookie and that’s all she has. Cookie has grown up alongside her cat sister (9 year old Kovo) who now gloomily accompanies cookie on her naps and provides moral support. Our dog, Cookie has an infection on her uterus and has a hernia where her intestines are outside her body and touching her body wall, making moving and any daily activity extremely painful. The vet told us there’s only 2 options, have an emergency surgery to operate on her or euthanize her. We do not want to lose her but we need your help! It’s an $8000 surgery for both procedures. Cookie is a very loyal companion, despite her very small size, she is very protective of her family and senses when something is wrong even before her humans are aware. Cookie is a bright light in everyone’s dark world, she brings joy and warmth across anyone she meets and is a great supporter to those in need (she is full of love and kisses for those who need it) she deserves the world. Cookie is all my mother has, and she has been through so much with my mother but her low income can only pay for so much. My mother’s mental and physical health is being affected due her constant stress. We refuse to put her down, but we are desperate, please help us.

Glass

Glass is a 1 year old Mix-Breed in Durham, NC, who needs $2,000 for Surgeries and Tail Amputation.

Durham, NC

We found Glass and his sister Mocha abandoned at a job site where our family's business was working. Both were just only a few weeks old, very skinny and weak. I brought them home and named him Glass because our small family business specializes in glass repairs and installations. And it seemed fit given where we found him and his sister. They have been in part of our family for a year. Glass had an accident when playing outside in the yard chasing a squirrel. We didn't see where or how fast he was going when our crew was loading new pieces of glass on our vehicle. He collided with sheets of glass, shattering them into pieces that would then impact his body. He injured a paw and tail with severe cuts, bruising, & open wounds. A piece stabbed his stomach, causing severe bleeding. Glass is special because of his gentleness despite his large size. He can seem scary at first, but is one of the sweetest, gentle giants you'll meet. All he wants to do is play and lay on top of your lap, despite weighing more than most children. He loves playing with his sister Mocha, even when she doesn't want to and loves chasing the chickens and ducks around the yard. So goofy and funny. Due to medical bills for treating my wife's stage 3 breast cancer, job loss, while still recovering from post- pandemic hardships, our family is unable to cover the full cost of Glass' required surgeries. But we don't want to give up on him as he is a loved family member.

Bailey

Bailey is a 12 year old Australian Shepherd in Durham, NC, who needs $2,000 for Bandage Changes, Skin Reconstruction Surgery.

Durham, NC

Bailey was a gift from my parents during my first semester of college. I was looking into getting an Aussie so they started looking and came across Bailey at a breeder. He had initially been sent to live with another family but they abused him and returned him for poor behavior. The breeder was going to euthanize Bailey since he was no longer great with kids but my parents brought him home instead Bailey developed cutaneous necrotizing vasculitis after having bladder stone surgery. All of the skin in his chest had to be removed after it necrosed and is currently going through the very long process of healing which includes lots of bandage changes. There is hope to get him his skin reconstruction surgery in the future. He is being treated at Triangle Veterinary Referral Hospital in Durham. He very quickly becomes everyone's best friend when he enters a room. He brings so much joy and positive energy and is the energizer bunny of the family even with everything that he is currently going through, He has touched so many lives in his time on this planet and I would love for him to be around for as long as possible to keep spreading the joy he brings I need help covering the costs of his bandage changes during his healing process. Currently he is requiring multiple bandage changes a week and this will continue for the long foreseeable future until his skin can grow back. Every little bit helps.

Teddy

Teddy is a 6-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in Franklinton , NC, who needs $2,000 for Corrective/Soft Palate Reduction.

Franklinton, NC

We adopted sweet Teddy almost a year ago! The other family wanted to let Teddy go because that felt that they could not give Teddy the attention he needed. Well, we give Teddy ALL the attention! Teddy is our family. He comes on all our trips, including drives in our convertible and trips to Starbucks for a pup cup! My kids love Teddy and he sleeps in their bed every night. Again, Teddy is our family. He is wherever we are. Family movie night, vacation, car rides. Everything! Teddy is truly our family and life without Teddy would be devastating with me and my kids. He is very special and no one can replace Teddy. Teddy and I have a special relationship. He is my shadow. If I get up, if I go anywhere, Teddy follows his mommy (me). Teddy also loves his siblings (my daughters, 7 and 12). Teddy sleeps in the bed with the girls. Now that he has not been feeling well, he is sleeping in my bed. Since December 23rd, I noticed Teddy swallowing constantly, drooling from one side, and not able to bark. Since he is deaf (since he was 2) he doesn’t bark much. So long story short, it took weeks, but they finally found a laceration in teddys mouth that goes into the larynx. He had stitches, but he needs the specialist to repair the palate. And obviously the CT scans as well. I am a registered nurse, but recently, I had my hours cut (cut. While my husband does have a good job, all our money goes to bills, groceries, medical. (I have a heart condition which makes our medical bills astronomical.) We have spent over $2,000 already

Photo of Shiro

Shiro

Shiro is a 5-year-old Great Pyrenees in Durham who needs $2,000 for Unilateral Sinus Trephination.

Durham

Shiro came to our house as a foster dog. The shelter we were helping wasn't sure if he was just blind, or deaf and blind. He was only a few weeks old when we brought him home. He ended up just being blind and we felt we would be able to give him a good life having many experiences with blind people ourselves. He ended up being a foster failure when we adopted him not long later. Shiro is an odd one in many ways. He would rather sleep in the bathroom shower than in his soft bed. When he is at camp with us he is at his happiest times. He will follow the noises of the campers and regularly go down to the pond to take a dip with them. He regularly walks without a leash because he follows his commands very well, especially on trails when hiking! Shiro used to pounce on things as a puppy. The kids used to say he was a cat stuck in a dog costume. He loves barking at any of our foster dogs that run around the house in circles--it looks like he is trying to round them up. He won't play with just any dog, but when he finds a friend, he will always remember them even if we don't see them for months. We think Shiro's immune system was low enough (perhaps from always having eye problems) that he was able to get a rare fungal disease. He has a fungus growing in his sinuses and it is eating away at his bones there. We recently got a CT exam to find out what was happening and our veterinarian says he has an 85% chance of recovery after a major surgery to get all the fungus out The CT exam cost us $4500. The next surgery will be $3000-4000, with a 3-6 month treatment following. The meds for that will be anywhere from $300 to $1000 a month during that time. This is a huge expense we were not expecting.

Basil

Basil is a 5-year-old Boxer/Boston Terrier Mix in Durham, NC, who needs $2,000 for Chemotherapy.

Durham, NC

Basil came into our lives as a rescue living in a foster home, and had been passed over at many events because of her special needs. She is believed to have been a bait dog for fights as a puppy and her front leg was removed a month before we adopted her. She was so timid, she would only eat out of my hands for the first month. Now she is bright, brave, happy and so loved. Basil and Sophie, our Alaskan Malamute, live both inside and outside. They eat meals together on the back porch and come inside every afternoon for “nap time” at the same time the kids take naps. Basil sleeps in her kennel with her toy alligator and her leopard print blankie every night, and lounges on the couch throughout the day when she isn’t outside chasing bugs. Basil is truly a character. She is obsessed with catching bugs and will spends an hour running through the yard trying to bite flies out of the sky. She loves trying to catch the sparks and falling ash when we have bonfires, and is scared of reflective lights on the ceiling. She loves the tops of bell peppers, baby carrots, and her squeaky alligator toy she has had since day one with us. Early August she was diagnosed with large cell lymphoma at her annual exam. She seemed perfectly normal although she had been mysteriously losing weight. Lymphoma is a terminal cancer but we are working with Dr. Williams at Triangle Veterinary Referral Hospital and our primary vet Dr. Grinstead at Eno Animal Hospital on a plan of chemotherapy and steroids/antibiotics with the hope of remission. Currently, Edgar is our sole financial provider and we are unable to pay for chemotherapy on our own. We are hoping to keep her in remission long enough for Elijah to get to know her and so that our children will have memories with Basil.
