Daphne

Daphne is a 5 year old Mix-Breed in Madison, WI, who needs $500 for Ultrasound.

Madison, WI

My ex and I adopted Daphne in September of 2020. She was four months old and had come from a feral colony. She was scared when we brought her home; she would hide in the closet all day until we went to sleep. Then she would eat, drink, use the litter box, and play! Over time, she warmed up to us. She moved halfway from NH to WI with me, my ex, and her adoptive sister Suzu in 2021. In late March, I noticed that Daphne's belly was getting big. At first, I chalked this up to her eating Suzu's food. But then, one night, she vomited several times, so I brought her to the UW-Madison emergency vet. They drained 700ml of fluid from her abdomen. Our primary vet, Underdog Vet Services, saw a mass on her liver from their ultrasound but were unable to give more information. Daphne is such a sweet and docile girl! Because she was a "COVID kitty", she only every truly became socialized to me. She trusts me more than anyone else. She and her sister Suzu have gotten close over the past two years; Suzu even lets Daphne groom her now! I serve as an AmeriCorps member in my community and live on a fixed stipend of ~$1700/month. My rent alone is $820/month. A diagnostic ultrasound costs $500. Daphne is so brave and so young and I want to give her a fighting chance of getting back to her happy, healthy self!

Chloe

Chloe is a 8 year old Mix-Breed in Windsor, WI, who needs $200 for Prescription Food, Veterinary Visits/Rechecks.

Windsor, WI

"I brought Chloe home ~7 years ago from a dairy farm where I worked in college. She was one of the friendliest cats on the farm. With the high mortality rates for the cats there, I focused on TNR for feral adults and rehoming friendly cats, and as many kittens as I could afford to care for. Chloe was ~1 yr old then. Now she is living with me, 5 dogs & 3 other cats, including 1 from the same farm. Chloe began showing signs of urinary issues about 2 months ago. She's been to Underdog Veterinary Services 4 times now, with another visit this week. She's currently on Hill's prescription urinary food, and the vets at UD vet are still determining if she'll need cystotomy surgery. Chloe is an independent lady who loves attention. She’s always up for pets and enjoys riding on my shoulders. She’s a chatty companion, often 'talking' with me. Her favorite spots to relax are the dining table and on top of the chest freezer, perched on my backpack. An unexpected cut in my work hours has made it difficult to cover monthly bills & vet expenses. I’m actively applying for full-time jobs & am determined to provide the best care for Chloe during this rough patch. Your support will help ensure she gets the treatment she needs

Sinceer Robinson

Sinceer Robinson is a 2-year-old in Madison, WI, who needs $1,500 for surgery.

Madison, WI

A family member gave me him as a gift because Sinceer is born on my deceased mom's birthday so he brought him to Wisconsin to me when Sinceer was 8 weeks his birthday is 1-19-2020 and I got him 3-19-2020 every since we’ve been together we connect like family he even acts protective like my mom did… we both have separation anxiety we can’t be apart from each other. He’s my world. So far it has been just me him and my ex fiancé. We have been separated for a year now. He interacts well with other people and dogs he acts like an human he’s so gentle with people and dogs. He’s a sweetheart to be his breed I’ve trained him to be friendly but still alert too you know he’s a gods gift. When he interacts with other dogs he does tricks like make the other dogs chase him then he’ll stop in mid sprint and jump over the dogs body and land on feet… at my last apartment me and his friends (neighbors dogs) owners use to meet up chill at the park and just watch them interact. He has been bit by a small dog twice in my last apartment one of the reason I just moved out. He’s well taken care of. I walk around looking bummy and homeless because of the love and care I’ve for him… if you look up how many times we’ve been to the ER it's ridiculous and the doctors always says you know you could go to vet instead of the ER like its not life threatening… if he throws up I’m taking him to the ER I love him and want to make sure he get the care he needs. I’m employed but I’ve been on an leave until I get into an apartment… my bosses understand it’s only been like 3-4 weeks I haven’t been employed but then when I was in employed I had to pay rent that was $1200 a month for an 1 bedroom it’s only me that’s providing everything.

Mariah

Mariah is a 13-year-old Long haired Tabby in Madison, WI, who needs $900 for Stitches for an 1 inch cut in skin & Upper respiratory infection.

Madison, WI

I adopted Mariah from a small town, Monroe, WI in 2008 and brought her back to college with me. I was at a lonely time in my life and craved not being alone. After 11 great years, I found myself on the streets with her, homeless, trying to get my life back together. With COVID and the hardships of being homeless, things progressively did not get much better for us as far as housing unfortunately. My cat is quite territorial and loves attention. She has to be the center of everything all the time no matter what. She lives up to her name and is quite the diva! After having most of her teeth removed, she now eats a softer food diet and is quite demanding and loves to wake me up every morning by 5 or 6am! Not being able to provide the necessary care for my cat has been devastating to her general well being and just want her to be able to get the same quality care she could get as if I had income. Unfortunately I am unemployed, homeless and do not have the financial options:( After years of homelessness and poor hygienic care, her fur has started to matte, esp on her belly. These knots cause her hair to twist, resulting in her skin pulling and causing her pain. Stupidly- I tried cutting some of them out and accidentally cut her belly. She has an inch wide cut and will need medical care ASAP. She also suffers from an upper respiratory infection and needs antibiotics. Mariah is special to me because she’s been there through it all. She’s been by my side through every failed relationship and each eviction too resulting in our homelessness. My constant love for her has never waivered when things turned bad and got worse. It’s humans that urged me to get rid of her and to put myself first to get out of homelessness but not once has the thought crossed my mind.
