Hayes
Hayes is a 7 year old Siberian Husky in Culver City, CA, who needs $7,000 for Emergency Intestinal Blockage Removal.
Culver City, CA
We rescued Hayes about 3 years ago from the Downey Animal Shelter. He was on the euthansia list and luckily we stumbled on an Instagram post pleading for someone to save him. We originally decided to foster him, but basically the minute we met him my fiancee and I knew we had to keep him. He's been living with us and his little Chihuahua brother Gus ever since. Like many huskies, Hayes likes to eat things he shouldn't (stuffing from toys, paper towels from the trash can, etc). Unfortunately, this time Hayes swallowed something that he couldn't pass - one of my socks. It got stuck in his intestines and caused a total blockage which required emergency surgery to be removed. Hayes is the love of my life and the most delightful doofus you'll ever meet. He's the most gentle, patient older brother to Gus, who I also love but is a bit of a monster. Hayes is obsessed with babies (he tries to get in every stroller we see on walks), cucumbers, and has amassed an impressive collection of lambchops that he carries around like puppies. Hayes picked a pretty inopportune time to eat a sock as his mom and I are getting married next month. So while we're so relieved that Hayes is on the mend - we had to put the entirety of his vet bill on a credit card since the wedding has eaten up most of our funds.

Clara
Clara is a 4 year old Ragdoll in Los Angeles, CA, who needs $2,000 for Heart Failure.
Los Angeles, CA
Clara was a foster fail for my boyfriend and I. Out of the many many times we have fostered kittens, Clara was the only time we’ve ever kept one because she is truly a soul like no other. She is the sweetest cat and everyone who has ever met her falls absolutely in love with her. She cares so much about others and in turn she is truly beloved by all that meet her. Clara was exposed to a toxin (rogaine) and is now in heart failure. She is fighting her hardest to stay with us but she needs more time at the ER. We lost her sister Tom to the same thing on Tuesday night. Clara has been at the VCA animal hospital in Westwood since Wednesday morning when we noticed her breathing was off. Clara loves to be loved and to give love. Her whole existence is about purring and cuddling and bringing joy to others. I’ve never met a cat, or creature in general, with as much love to give as her. When we foster kittens, she mothers them as if they were her own. She loves to play as well, we call her silver lightning because she is the fastest cat you’ll ever see when she is chasing a toy. We never planned for a catastrophe like this. We don’t have pet insurance and my boyfriend recently lost his job. Please help us save Clara. Anything helps.

Luna
Luna is a 2 year old Mix-Breed in Redlands, CA, who needs $2,000 for Antivenom and Transfusion Treatment.
Redlands, CA
Hi there! I'm Luna, a lucky pup rescued from an Indian reservation at two months old. My mom rescued me on St. Patrick's Day 2022, and we've been inseparable ever since! We've lived in Utah, Alaska, Washington, and now we're in Los Angeles, exploring city life. We do everything together, and my human is my whole world. We've been together for over two amazing years! I had a scary adventure with a rattlesnake on a rainy day. It sent me into anaphylactic shock, struggling to breathe on the way to the emergency room. My human rushed me to VCA, where I fought for my life in the ICU for two nights, so swollen I could barely move. The vet said it would take $7,500 to save me or mom was going to have to say goodbye forever. I was so scared. Luna's human here (I decided to take over)! Luna is my world, a goofy and sassy companion with a huge personality. She loves the outdoors and could stay there forever. My best friend, she's been there for me like no one else, it has always been just me and her. Don't let her size fool you though, she is terrified of black beans and popcorn boxes (she is quite quirky). Luna's medical bills soared to $7,500, a mountain of debt that threatens my home. Basic needs are becoming unattainable. I'm overwhelmed and unsure where to turn. Any assistance, no matter how small, would mean the world to us.

Chloe
Chloe is a 13-year-old Maltipoo in Santa Monica, CA, who needs $2,000 for Sarcoma Removal.
Santa Monica, CA
13 years ago I found Chloe online for adoption. She won me over the minute I met her. She's been by my side nearly every day since. I'm her third owner, hence the separation anxiety. It was a little over a year since my father's passing that I rescued her and she's been my pride and joy, literally my road dog! She's had little medical issues till now with a soft tissue malignant sarcoma. Chloe is low maintenance. Although with separation anxiety, she has to be in earshot or eyesight of me with others. Her need to be included is comical. I adore her desire and excitement to meet other dogs, people, cats, babies...she is quite the social "butterfly". Chloe is the ultimate "greeter". She has to say hello to every dog. A peacemaker, as she doesn't like when other dogs are fighting. She's a flirt with boy dogs and loves to give kisses hello, or barks at them if they don't give her the attention she wants. The words TREAT, PARK and PUPPY are the buzz words to get her attention...along with a good ear rub or a squeak toy! Chloe has been diagnosed with a soft tissue malignant sarcoma on her left shoulder area and a lipoma right behind it. Dr. Mary Somerville at VCA ASEC (Animal Specialty & Emergency Center) has provided the treatment plan for blood panel, x-ray, surgery, biopsy (to determine the grade) and after care. Due to economics, COVID, etc. I have had to wide down my non-profit thrift shop, leaving me without income. I volunteer at a food bank twice a week to secure food for the two of us. I can't imagine being without her. This is my only hope for more years together.

ROXY
ROXY is a 7-year-old Pitbull in Lancaster, CA, who needs $900 for Mastectomy.
LANCASTER, CA
Roxy was abandoned by her owner about 1 year ago. He asked me to watch his dog for a month and the owner just never came back to get her. I called him several times but he refused to come get her. He told me to take her to the pound. So I kept her. She is the sweetest dog and just loves to cuddle and love on me. Roxy loves sleeping in bed with me and looks forward to breakfast and dinner. Her daily walks are something she can't wait for every day I can't even say the word WALK around her. Roxy enjoys playing with her best friend Winter who is a very small terrier mix and she lets Winter boss her around even though she is twice the size of Winter. Roxy can always tell when I am feeling anxious or depressed. She gives me something to focus on when I am feeling anxious or depressed that I no longer need to take my medication. She gives me a reason to push myself and take care of someone else other then myself. She is so gentle with other dogs even though she is bigger then the other dogs I bring her around. Roxy was presented for consultation for a right mammary mass. The mass was first noted a few months ago and was small, however, it has recently started growing, so the owner wanted it evaluated. She is reportedly intact, but was adopted as an adult, and the owner has never witnessed Roxy go through a heat cycle. She is otherwise a happy, healthy, active dog. I suffered from sever depression and anxiety so I just started working about 2 years ago and I have not built enough of a savings for this surgery. I can put $800 towards the surgery but I just don't have enough yet.

Huey
Huey is a Shepard Pit Bull Mix puppy in Los Angeles, CA, who needs $2,000 for Plasma Treatment.
Los Angeles, CA
Huey was a gift when I was in a very critical place in my life, he also has so many different siblings of his that weren't really making it after birth, and they were all really fighting to eat from the same food source and so taking Huey out was allowing him to have his own ability to thrive, but really he really helped me thrive. Huey is love, he's a definition of a guardian angel to everyone. Huey has his own room, with toys and dog beds, but he likes to jump up and sleep on top of my bed, if I'm in the shower he sleeps next to the shower door, if I'm going to the kitchen cooking he's sitting right by me at my foot, if I'm watching a movie then he's right next to me on the couch,. Huey is my best friend, my family, my whole heart. He needs plasma treatments, which are blood transfusions for dogs, so many nutrients, and things I can get him help for his organs to begin functioning brain functioning, and just overall care when he pulls through He was diagnosed with parvo disease a week ago, and has been in critical condition since trying to get better, since I couldn't afford treatment many hospitals turned him away until I can afford to pay the entire bill, right now he's in the VCA Lawndale hospital that's been willing to give him minimal treatment and will come home with a huge bill, and long-term needs when he pulls through. Huey has a huge sense of humor, he's stubborn, and he likes to play with you he'll put his toys in certain places and then take them from you, he'll hide things, he hugs with both arms and Paws, tickles you and kisses you, and punks you if you feels like it, chase you around the house, you're just sitting there watching a movie and you forgotten about him he will grab your socks and run, lol!

Kobe
Kobe is a 1-year-old Terrier dachshund in Los Angeles , CA, who needs $2,000 for Femur distal epiphyseal fracture.
Los Angeles, CA
Kobe lives with me at my apartment, I adopted him when covid first started from a family that didn’t want him anymore. He’s been part of my family since April 1st 2020. He’s lives a very happy life and is always happy. He’s great with everyone that I introduce him too! He’s a healthy dog who overcomes anything. It’s just Kobe and I in the household, we live in Los Angeles with each other. He’s my only family. His interactions with me are always the best, from jumping in excitement when I walk in the door as if he hasn’t seen me in years to being my snuggle body while we watch movies on the weekends. He’s my best friend. With everything happening in the world and being part time at my job, it’s very hard to be able to pay off all these hospitals bill. I love my dog so much I can’t imagine life without him. I refuse to have him suffer any longer. My dog is an adventurous dog who loves sometimes chews off a bit more than he can bit, he loves going to the park and running around and sometimes tends to get in between bigger dogs legs. Sadly this time he wasn’t as lucky and we didn’t realize til nighttime when he started limping out of nowhere took him to the emergency room to found out he has a fractured femor and tibia. My dog is special because he came into my life at a very dark time, when I was dealing with depression and being alone he’s stood by me always. He’s loving and funny and cute and always knows how to make me happy. He’s the most amazing dog in the world, I really wish It was me instead of him who was in this pain.

Rook
Rook is a 15-year-old Lhasa in San Diego , CA, who needs $2,000 for Spine surgery .
San Diego, CA
I went out for a coffee with my then hubby as he was being deployed for 6 months and we wanted an hour together. We were at the mall and I said I’ll just go into the pet store and look at the animals while I drink it. I started at the front and was looking at a dog and talking to him through the glass. As I did that a dog put his head to the front of his cage and stuck out his tongue. I knew. Rook has his own game or ball, he doesn’t run and catch it and bring it back to me, he makes me run after him to get the ball back to throw it again. He came into my life when he needed someone to love him but he ended up saving my life too. He’s been through a lot in his life and has fought hard. He’s gotten me through an upsetting divorce. We help each other. Recently divorced after 29 years. If Rook doesn’t get the surgery he will become paralyzed. I held him in my arms when he was 3 months old and fell in love with him. I made a promise to him that day that I will take care of him always. He needs spine surgery in order to walk. He will become paralyzed if he doesn’t have the surgery. Please save him. He’s the love of my life and he’s my baby. Veterinarian Specialty Hospital is the hospital we are having him treated at. With the surgery he will be able to walk again. He’s so sweet and loving and just wants to play with his toys again. He sticks his tongue out at me just like he did when I saw him at the store and his head looked at me from across the store room as he heard me talking and looked at me and I held him and said you’re coming home with me, I love you already. He gives me kisses for cookies. He’s my heart and soul. He used to stand on his hind legs and in his way wave at me.

Laila
Laila is a 10-year-old Boxer Mix in Santa Monica, CA, who needs $2,000 for Thymoma.
Santa Monica, CA
Ten years ago, I rescued a 3 month old puppy named Laila. She is the sweetest, most energetic girl that wants to say hi to everyone on the street. She loves to play with the other dogs passing by and many store owners in the neighborhood know her as she pops her cute head into their shops looking for treats & rub downs. She is very loving as she enjoys licking people & giving kisses. It is just Laila and myself in the household but when friends come over, she demands their attention to play tug of war or fetch. She enjoys to cuddle up right next to me on the couch or in one of her beds. She either sleeps in the living room or my bedroom. During the day, we go on long walks & tend to sit in a park to relax most days. She likes to sunbathe! In August 2019, I lost my job and have been unemployed ever since. I used my credit card to pay for the procedure and I find myself in a tough spot as I am looking for a donation to help with bills. At that moment, I just knew I had to save her life a would do it again. Laila had a cough that wouldn't go away and the she lost her bark. I brought her to the vet a a chest x-ray revealed a growth pressing against her heart. A needle aspirate was performed revealing a tumor called Thymoma. The pathologist recommended removal of the tumor & I sat down with a surgeon Dr. Somerville from the VCA ASEC in West Los Angeles to discuss the treatment and scheduled surgery. Laila's best friend lives next door & we let the dogs play often. They love each other. If I go out of town, she comes along. In the mountains, she bucks around the snow, rolling around in it & eating it. She is very vocal. She lets me know what she wants. For instance, she will go to the door & get my attention to go outside. She will drop a ball in my lap if she wants to play.

Noodles
Noodles is a 10-year-old Bassett Hound in Duarte , CA, who needs $4,080 for Teeth cleaning and teeth extractions. And mass removal from neck.
Duarte, CA
Hello, Noodles has been with me since he was 8 weeks old. In 2009. He's always been a good boy. Always friendly with my family. He's always playful with other dogs. He's 10 now and still playful like a puppy. He enjoys walks and playing at the dog park. But now with social distancing I have not taken him to the park. But I do have a large back yard. But need other dogs to play. In 2010 I adopted another puppy Bagels also a basset hound. He is also 10 years old. Him and Noodles are playful and great with each other. They're like brothers. They enjoy playing together in my large back yard and also playing at the dog park with other dogs. I take them to the small dog section. They're medium dogs and great with small dogs. Currently I am on unemployment. I am in California and during the Covid shut down, my company closed and I was laid off. But hopefully when this is over I may go back to work. But now I am receiving some unemployment insurance. But I do have a mortgage pay. Noodles has been a very healthy dog. His weight has always been good. I have tried to give him a little extra food but he only eats what he needs and never over eats. But now since he is 10 years old the vet told he needs a teeth cleaning and some teeth extractions. I did not realize it would be so expensive.

Creed
Creed is a 1.9-year-old Boxer in San Diego, CA, who needs $1,225 for surgical mass removal.
San Diego, CA
I was given Creed buy my girlfriend (now wife) in our townhouse in Jacksonville Florida. She had first lied and said she was grocery shopping but after two hours she came home and surprised me with the tiny boxer. We now live in California with his three siblings, Junior the chocolate Labrador, and two felines, Mojo-Jojo, and Cotton Creed is nothing but a ball of energy! Whether he's at the dog park or chasing his brother around the living room, he always has a peppy attitude. Although two of his siblings are cats he is always gentle with them, besides the few times, he chased them around like a puppy he learned very quickly that they don't like that. My wife and I got married in October of 2019, and because of the COV ID - 19 outbreak my wife has been forced into unemployment. We are still paying off her student loans along with an increased rent. He is the love of Our Lives and a brother to the rest of his siblings Our boy is being treated at the VCA Grossmont Animal Hospital in La Mesa by Dr. Lair DVM, Fiona with treatment plan #47061281. The estimate for the treatment is 1300 Plus an additional 240 for lab testing to make sure the mast cell tumor hasn't spread. When he was a puppy he had pneumonia and really bad kennel cough to the point where we didn't know if he was going to make it. Creed is definitely a firecracker. He loves to hold a toy and dangle it in front of his brother's face to try to coax him into playing with him. Whenever he sleeps he has to either be laying on his back with his feet pushed against the couch or Laying across your feet. Whenever it comes to a Time that my wife finds herself whistling, he just perks his ears up and tilts his head back and forth.
Bella
Bella is a 1-year-old Corgi-Basset Hound in Temecula, CA, who needs $5,000 for surgery on her leg.
Temecula, CA
I rescued Bella from a shelter, we don't really know that much about her house other than that she was abused and her mom was killed. I got her at 8 months and she has been such a blessing in my life I love her so much but unfortunately I am not financially able to pay for her medical bills. I do my best to provide a loving home where she is safe but I am a college student who pays for my car, housing, school, and food. As you can see from the pictures Bella has a deformity in her leg which requires surgery from an orthopedic surgeon which is really expensive as you can see her x-rays and CT scans cost over 2,000$ alone. The specialist said that her ulna bone is stunted in growth which has caused her radius to grow at a curve. I've started a gofundme which has raised 250$ but to help Bella I need much more help! Please help me help my poor puppy in pain!

Sushi
Sushi is a 6-year-old Siamese cat in Bakersfield, CA, who needs $663 for a leg amputation.
Bakersfield, CA
I got Sushi in 2014 after he was born on Father’s Day. He looks just like his Cat Mama and I was only going to take him at first. But then also fell in love with his brother Lennon. I have had him since he was a baby and he has secretly always been my favorite. Sushi is always there for me when I’m sad and knows when to give me extra love. He loves to cuddle under blankets with me and talks all the time. Sushi loves going on walks and will even play fetch

Deuce
Deuce is a 3-year-old Miniature Yellow Lab in Antioch, CA, who needs $310 for surgical foxtail removal.
Antioch, CA
My Puppy-Son’s original name is Deuce. That is the name he had when he was 11 weeks old and showed up outside my 3rd floor apartment door in 2017. He was so tiny, scared, and abused. His owner at the time come to find out lived 2 floors down and her boyfriend had decided to get him and train him to be an aggressive guard dog. As soon as my husband opened our front door the tiny little yellow thing ran right into our apartment and jumped into my arms where he almost instantly fell asleep. I was in love. My husband talked the couple into letting me have him and from that moment on when I moved he moved. We quickly learned that Deuce had been though a lot for being so young and so small. After eating on a schedule for 3 days. He threw up a pair of little girls underwear, that same night I woke up to him crying and couldn’t figure out where he was at until I looked down my hallway to see my poor baby sitting at the bathroom door (with it wide open) stuck and unable to get out the only thing between him and I at that moment was a broom stick that had fallen or leaned across the doorway but in no way was it keeping him from being able to leave the bathroom but he was terrified of that broom. That’s when I went to the old owners and refused to leave until I was given the truth about what all had been done to my baby before he became mine. Turns out he never saw much of anywhere else other then the bathroom. If he was too loud that’s when the broom stick came out. He had also only been fed 4 times in the almost 2 weeks that had had him. Which is why he was eating the little girls clothing off of the bathroom floor. My heart broke for my new baby but I promised him that even if I wasn’t able to give him a perfect life I would still protect him with everything I have in me and he would never have to live like that again. Deuce who also now answers to Puppakins and on his grumpy days he also goes by Deuceifer and I have been through Hell and back the last few years. My husband and started to turn violent and Deuce had become my protector at one point. We got away from that ugly situation and have lived through homelessness, couch surfing and we have walked for miles and miles on end together. It wasn’t until this last April that our luck started to make a change for the better. We found a room that we rent that is all OURS. I have been blessed enough to have a few less then part time jobs and I am able to maintain our rent and keep us both fed. We still walk to where we have to go but we have learned to take everything one step at a time. At our home Deuce has a big side yard area that he can go out to whenever he would like and that’s actually how this trouble began. I have spent hours out there pulling weeds, racking and trying to get rid of all the foxtails. Unfortunately I didn’t do so well and there is one that is someplace up his nasal cavity and seems to be working it’s way into dangerous territory. He needs surgery to remove it and has spen the last 16 hours violently sneezing and with those sneezes he has been spraying drops of blood all over our little room and also all over the both of us. I am begging for ANY help I can get to cover the cost of the surgery he needs to make him feel better again. I can barely cover our rent right now and I am searching everyday for a full time job that I can get to and from on a daily basis but with my puppy-son being sick he is all I can focus on. Please anything will help!

Brody
Brody is a 3-year-old Husky/Shepherd mix in Montrose, CA, who needs $2,000 for diagnostic testing and treatment for liver failure.
Montrose, CA
Brody has been part of the family for a little over 3 years. After deciding that our other fur baby needed a friend, we went to a shelter in San Bernardino CA to look at a litter of puppies that had just arrived. As we looked at all of the puppies, Brody stood out to us right away. Being the runt of the litter with a crooked tail, we knew it made him less than desirable and drew us to him even more. He came home to us in June of 2016 and immediately became attached to his sister Dixie. He was a spunky puppy full of personality that loved puddles and going to “puppy academy” where he was at the top of his class. He is the most friendly dog that loves to cuddle. Brody knows when you are having a bad day and he will do everything in his power to make everyone around him smile. He goes to grandma daycare while mom and dad are working, where he is spoiled with his fair share of boiled chicken and pumpkin cookies.

Winston
Winston is a 1-year-old Ragdoll in Los Angeles, CA, who needs $2,000 for the treatment acute renal failure and subsequent dialysis.
Los Angeles, CA
Winston was rescued from ASPCA about 1.5 years ago as a kitten. I had just returned from a trip to Thailand where I had found a stray kitten in need of medical care. I named him Rio and took him to the local vet to get him neutered, dewormed, vaccinated and treated with antibiotics. I wasn't allowed to take Rio home to America so I decided to rescue a cat here. They thought Winston would be feral but in fact with enough love he became quite the opposite. He is the cuddliest of cats and gets lonely soooo easily. I am a medical resident in emergency medicine at UCLA so I am often out of the house for 12-14... even 30 hours at a time trying to save lives at the hospital! Seeing as I wasn't often home it became apparent that Winston needed a brother. So I rescued another cat, this time having learned that little black cats rarely got adopted out, I chose Winston's opposite: a very shy little, runt of the litter, black short haired cat. Winston immediately took his role as big brother seriously and made Jasper feel so welcomed (as you can see in the pictures). Winston brought so much love into my life during a very difficult time - residency. Medical residency is hard to explain. The level of stress and emotional drain is something that can't be put into words. When you still don't know everything in medicine (still a learner) but have people's lives in your hands the type of stress is the type that affects your body, mind and soul. Add in the lack of sleep, lack of food, lack of breaks, strain on your personal relationships and emotional drain from seeing people pass away in front of their families. This should start to paint a picture of what medical residency is like. Winston is literally my little life saver. He knows exactly when to come cuddle me and he always comes to sit in my lap while I study.
