Loka

Loka is a 3 year old French Bulldog in Anderson, CA, who needs $1,800 for Emergency C-section for Unplanned Pregnancy.

Anderson, CA

A homeless couple was standing under an awning trying to stay out of the rain, and Loka was with them. She was soaked, shivering, and clearly not being cared for in a stable or safe environment. They told me they couldn’t keep her or provide for her anymore. I couldn’t walk away from her. I brought her home that day, and I’ve been caring for her ever since. She means EVERYTHING to me. Loka is now facing a medical situation that requires urgent attention. She is pregnant, and based on her size, breed mix, and the way her pregnancy is progressing, my veterinarian has warned that she may not be able to deliver safely on her own. There is a strong possibility she will need a C‑section to prevent complications that could put both her and the puppies at risk. Loka has the sweetest, most gentle personality. She’s playful and goofy when she feels safe, she’s incredibly intuitive. she seems to sense when I’m stressed or overwhelmed and will come lay her head on my lap as if she’s reminding me that we’re in this together. She follows me from room to room, and greets me every morning with her tail wagging like she's genuinely happy to just be next to me. I am a single college student trying to support myself. I lost my mom over a year ago, and since then I haven’t had any family or financial support. It’s really just Loka and me. I’m doing my best to manage school, rent, and basic living expenses.

Benji

Benji is a 8 month old Border Collie in Redding, CA, who needs $2,000 for Surgery for Osteochondritis Dessecans.

Redding, CA

Hi there! 😊 My name is Benji. I am a 9-month-old Border Collie from California. I was left tied to a pole on the side of the road before I was taken to an animal shelter and given a new loving home by my mom and dad, Sarah and Dillan Bott ❤️ I was sick with Distemper and my parents had to wait for me to be released from quarantine before they could take me home. Unfortunately, they soon found out Benji has Osteochondritis Dessecans (OCD), a painful orthopedic condition that the veterinarian said requires surgery to fix. He is being treated at VCA Asher Animal Hospital in Redding. Benji is such a special guy! He has the sweetest, most trusting personality in the world. He literally loves everyone and everything, and no one would guess all the pain and trauma he has gone through. I am currently working part-time as an EMT in an ambulance and also studying pre-nursing. My husband is a student too and so we were not prepared for this.

Kino

Kino is a 6 year old Siberian Husky in Redding , CA, who needs $2,000 for Surgery to Put a Steel Plate in his Leg to Stabilize It.

Redding, CA

I had a dog from the time I was 13 years old, who unexpectedly passed away 6 months later, we found Kino being given away in front of a store when he was about 10 weeks old. He is 6 years old now. About a month ago. Kino broke his front leg it is unclear how it happened. He was outside and when we found him it was broken. We rushed him to the emergency vet Hospital they reset his leg and he has had a cast on since then, but it's looking like he's going to need surgery to repair the brake. We got a quote for the surgery, and it's between roughly 4000 and 5000 dollars. Kino it's very important to our family. We got him when my son was only 2 years old, so they have basically grown up together. He loves to go to the dog park and run and play and swim. And we want to get him back to being able to do that. We have already spent a lot of money with the casting and the initial veterinary visit to the point that I haven't been able to even pay all my bills. I really don't want to have to surrender our family dog. Due to not being able to get him the surgery, he needs.

Lenny

Lenny is a 9 year old Mix-Breed in Red Bluff, CA, who needs $2,000 for Examination to Diagnose Possible Blockage.

Red Bluff, CA

I appreciate any help, let alone your time and consideration. I adopted Lenny nearly 5 years ago for my kids at a very difficult time. He ended up being crucial, not just as a companion and guardian, but as a farm of normality, security, and grounding we desperately needed. Last night he started having issues and now needs emergency interventions which I cannot afford currently. Thanks, again He appears to possibly have an obstruction, maybe in his bowl or intestine. We are currently talking with the VCA in Redding, Ca, but have called and left messages for many others in our area. It is hard to express why and how Lenny is so special to me and my family because I've never had a dog as special as him and as important to my family. At first, Lenny for me represented hope, but he quickly proved be more. He was a blanket, a playmate, a guardian. He is not only faitfull, he is intuitive, empathetic, gentle, and devoted to keeping the family safe no matter the risk to himself. I am disabled due to a lot of medical complications, and as much as I'd like to be better, that is not in the cards. It's hard being aware of my financial situation. This is a difficult path to take, but Lenny deserves all options and attempts. As does is family.

Sweetie

Sweetie is a 9-ymonth-old Brindle Mix in Redding, CA, who needs $2,000 for Broken Hip Surgery.

Redding, CA

She was my neighbors dog, and they kept her outside in the rain. So I would always bring her in and let her hang out with my dog Stevie wo Der and I, and really she was my refugee, my neighbors would watch my dog while I was at work so the two grew uptogether, but after work died out she was always with me. She was hit by a car about the same time I had to camp out again. We paid for initial care So my firs dog Abby was adopted by my friend who owns a hair salon. She's been helping me get together by watching my girls for me, Abby gave birth to nine puppies that we saw to good homes, I kept Stevie wonder, and sweetie was my neighbors dog. When sweetie got hit, Stevie started staying with her mom, and they welcome costumers of haircuts, and they love it. Sweetie is my adopted baby. Sweetie lives up to her name. Abby is the most greeting, and a wonderful host, and extremely social. Never introduced herself to a dog/cat/person that didn't fall in love, Stevie is my little princess and sweetie is kinda my baby. She sleeps against me, breathes with me in meditation and really just kinda helps me sleep at night. She was hit by a car following a friend of mine across the street. I can see how he thought the he was splitting off to do his own thing, but he had watched her for me outside of two stores, so I assumed he knew to continue to do so. We took her to Asher VCA animal hospital who charged us $1800 for some exrays and a cast. And charging us $170 everytime we have it looked at or changed. Her hip and her leg are both broken, and her hip alone is going to be between $5,000 to $8,000. Having had just lost work is kinda hard for me to figure out.

Gasten

Gasten is a 3-month-old Rottweiler in Redding, CA, who needs $2,000 for E-coli Treatment.

redding, CA

Gasten is my 3 month old Rottweiler puppy. I got him as a gift. Last year was a very difficult year and this would be the first dog I ever got that was truly mine to raise. we have 2 older dogs that we are about to say goodbye too as they are 13 and 14 years old. My husband got his Rottweiler and Gasten is my chance to have my own. Now my world is crashing Gasten is so vocal. I have spent so much time learning him I know when he is hungry, thirsty or wants to play. he sleeps in his bed next to me, listens and learns so well, loves to go in the car with me and makes sure I am safe already at 3 months. He misses me, loves me and I need him in my life. I cannot lose my first ever "mans best friend". He so is talkative. Gasten loves to plat with the sprinklers and he loves when I bring out the broom. The leaf blower makes him so excited and will wake up and be excited as soon as I grab my keys. He keeps me on my toes and loves to chew on carrots they are one of his favorite chew toys. He also loves to lay in boxes and things of that sort. Gasten got sick 2 days ago. He got into a rotten animal bone with rancid meat. Then he got sick and threw up all his food. We think he has E-coli. the photo provided that has the pink liquid was his first episode of bloody diarrhea he has since pooped 3 more times that got more red. I just lost my job due to some medical issues and this is why my dog is making my life better and helping me. My husband covers bills but he cant cover this also. I need help. I need my dog to live.

Big

Big is a 3-year-old English Mastiff in Redding, CA, who needs $1,800 for surgical ovariohysterectomy.

Redding, CA

Bug’s original owners had 5 kids but they divorced and moved into apartments, so they returned Bug to the lady they bought her from. Fast forward 6mos, and I contacted our breeder asking if she knew of anyone looking to rehome a mastiff just older than a puppy. We already had a 8mo old mastiff and wanted her to have a playmate. This is how we came in contact with Bug! Bug came home to 5boys, 1 girl, and an 8mo old Mastiff that was already as big as her. She fit in immediately and sleeps with our 10yr old son. Sometimes she will crawl in the crate and cuddle with her canine sister even though they are both the size of pony’s. She loves playing outside a lot during the day but always ready to be with us when she’s tired! Bug loves the water and anytime we have the hose on, she has her mouth right there to catch the stream. Anytime the kids are outside, she is right by their side and she loves to play tug of war with them and her toys. She is the most gentle and mellow girl and our entire family just wants her home to cuddle with her! Bug showed no signs of illness until 11/14 and then she was in my sons room when he noticed she was breathing different. He took her outside to potty and noticed she wasn’t wanting to walk. He came to me and told me he thought there was something wrong. We assessed her and quickly took her to Asher VCA where Dr Gibbs did emergency surgery for Pyometra. My husband got Covid and was not expected to live at all. He did recover but hospitalized for 53 days and they say it can be up to a year before he can return to work. He is the sole provider for our house, so now he’s on disability. We need our Bug home but money is tight!

Hunter

Hunter is a 12-year-old Australian Shepherd / Border Collie mix in Anderson, CA who needs $4,500 for leg surgery, for tibial plateau leveling osteotomy.

Anderson, CA

Hunter and I found each other 11 years ago. When we met I knew we would be forever friends. He is the most loyal protector I could have ever asked for. He and I have been through a lot over the years and we always look out for each other. We have survived some major life changes and milestones, he has been a friend to talk to and to lean on through them all. I know that if I am with Hunter, I will be safe. We have hiked, played, swam, and road tripped. He has been on horseback rides with me and gone camping. We go to the beach and the mountains, he just wants to be near me. A few years ago, we adopted a boxer/mastiff named Rose. We weren't too sure how it was gonna go but soon it became apparent that they were besties. She follows Hunter everywhere. They share their toys and love to play. Her energy is contagious. Hunter has been a part of my family for so long, I cant imagine how our family would look without him. Its painful to think about so I focus on being the best friend and Mom I can be to him while he is in my life. His loyalty deserves to be reciprocated.
