Harry came into my life on March 19, 2021. He was a rescue, found on the streets on Dallas, Georgia. It was an immediate friendship; Harry let me walk him and cuddle him right away! I was really sad to think someone had abandoned him, but so grateful that I found a friend! Harry feels most comfortable in his crate covered with blankets. He snuggles with his toy labradoodle on a cozy mattress and stays there most of the day. He'll come out for a walk, a snack, or a few pets every once in a while, and lately he has come to sleep next to my bed at night, which I love. He's come a long way from our first weeks together where he hid behind the door in my dark closet! Harry is good at reading people, and he stubbornly won't tolerate a bad energy. He's especially "talkative", he barks at suspect individuals and cries when he sees other animals until he gets to meet them. Here in Boston, I've been afraid he might try and befriend a rat on the street! Harry loves playing fetch with his Labradoodle toy and often pulls it into his crate as if to claim it as his! Harry has a Mast Cell Tumor, which means he has a form of lethal cancer. If he is able to get surgery to remove the tumor, he will likely be cured, but without surgery the cancer could spread and he could die within a few months. The surgery would remove the whole tumor if possible and let him live out the rest of his life healthily. I need help, because Harry is my best friend. He got me through the pandemic and he deserves to get the care he needs to survive this illness. I'm working with a teacher's salary and trying to financially recover from a period of unemployment.
