Adena

Adena is a 1 year old Mix-Breed in Pittsburgh, PA, who needs $2,000 for URI Treatment and Pregnancy Care.

Pittsburgh, PA

“Adena is a sweet, loving cat who has already been through so much in her young life. She was originally cherished by her first owner, who, with a heavy heart, asked for help finding her a new home when he could no longer care for her. I tried to help by adopting her out to a coworker, but unfortunately, Adena ended up abandoned on the streets. I found her alone, hungry, and sickly near a dumpster Adena is pregnant and facing a rough upper respiratory infection that’s making it difficult for her to breathe. She hasn’t yet seen a veterinarian, and I’m raising funds to cover her upcoming medical care. Adena is incredibly affectionate, she loves cuddles, belly rubs, and kisses, and she’s always seeking attention and love from everyone she meets. Your support will help give Adena and her future kittens a healthy, happy start. Thank you for helping us give her the care she deserves” I am currently out on a LOA from my job and I’ve not been paid. The pay I did receive was less than $200 barely enough to feed my family or pay bills. I have a huge heart and can’t bare to see anything happen to her or her babies. She will be fixed after this pregnancy

Monty

Monty is a 8-year-old Doberman Mix in Pittsburgh, PA, who needs $2,000 for Medications.

Pittsburgh, PA

Monty picked me when his parents had an accidental litter, and their owners were going to take him and his siblings to the shelter. We took the whole litter and found homes for the ones we didn't keep. He has 2 cat siblings and lives next to his brother and sister from his litter. Monty is half Doberman, and the other half is Lab/Saint Bernard. Monty loves all cats. He loves to chase after balls but doesn't return them. Monty loves to sleep and sunbathe. Monty doesn't like potatoes of any kind. Monty is a very obedient and loving dog. One of his human friends has referred to him as romantic because he will longingly look into your eyes before he gives you kisses. Monty communicates his needs very clearly. He is goes with the flow and will sleep all day if you want to sleep all day but is also willing to go on a hike if that's what you wanted to do. Monty started to get lumps on his body and was supposed to have surgery to remove them. When I took him in for the surgery, they found that his liver functioning was off and found a tumor on his spleen. VCA Animal Hospital removed his spleen over the summer but now he needs 3 medications a day and medicated food to address his liver issues. I am a single person who is struggling to come up with the amount of money it costs to keep up with his daily medications. I am just trying to do whatever it takes to get Monty healthy again and to hopefully no longer need medications.

CandyCorn

CandyCorn is a 11-year-old Exotic Shorthair cat in Edinburg, PA, who needs $2,000 for urgent surgery.

Edinburg, PA

The holidays were filled with a devastating series of events for the Connolly family, even for their cat, CandyCorn. CandyCorn's human mom, Marge, was admitted to the hospital on Christmas day and transferred to a nursing facility for rehabilitation. Now CandyCorn is heartbroken and sits in Marge's chair, waiting for her to return. Confused and missing her mom, CandyCorn was then diagnosed by a veterinarian with multiple mammary gland tumors. After discussing treatment, it was determined that removing these tumors would not suffice, and she needs a mastectomy. The family tells Waggle they are trying to raise the money for CandyCorn's surgery immediately, so Marge returns home to a healthy kitty, who means the world to her. CandyCorn was born in Marge's home in 2010. Her husband and grandchildren coined her name after the colorings in the candy. When Marge's husband died in 2012, CandyCorn became her constant companion. Marge has other rescued cats too. VCA Northview Animal Hospital is standing by to schedule CandyCorn's surgery. The Connolly's hope you will give to this campaign so they can all breathe a sigh of relief and hope that 2022 brings no more unexpected medical issues. The Connolly family tells Waggle that CandyCorn spends her days lounging with Marge in her recliner, watching Days of Our Lives and the Hallmark Channel. At night she sleeps on Marge's pillow. Marge says CandyCorn, and her friends, help her handle Alzheimer's. When CandyCorn requires attention, she will reach her paw out and pet you until she gets her way. Since Marge's admittance to the hospital, CandyCorn has sat in her recliner waiting for her. CandyCorn is an extremely personable kitty cat. She is a great snuggler and will notify you of her needs using her paws to gain attention. She spends her days within a foot of Marge at all times. Her favorite game is to run in circles around the house, nimbly maneuvering obstacles in her way, climbing the cat trees and furniture with ease. This game generally takes place around 2 am, as purr usual. Please help CandyCorn get better in time for her mom to come home!

Photo of Miller

Miller

Miller is a 10-year-old Beagle Mix in Pittsburgh, PA, who needs $2,000 for Abdominal Lymph Node Excision.

Pittsburgh, PA

Back in December of 2012, I was living in Austin, Texas and attending school. Miller came into my life when he was found abandoned in a field and taken to a rescue. I was with my then wife at the time. We divorced in 2017 and he has been with me ever since. I am currently living in my hometown of Pittsburgh where I moved about 3 years ago. Miller loves to play! He has a ton of plush toys which are his favorite. He has dinosaur, hedge hog, llama, hot dog, dragon...and he knows them pretty well. He loves going on long walks in the park and playing chuck it with the tennis ball. He is very loving and sleeps in bed, at my feet, every night. He loves people and makes friends with everyone he meets! Between my divorce & Covid-19, I have been faced with unexpected financial insecurity. I am a freelance theatre artist who supplements my income with restaurant work & teaching. Covid has shut down theatre and the restaurant business. In the fall of 2020, Miller had surgery to remove an anal gland which had a small growth. The biopsy revealed Anal Sac Gland Adenocarcinomas, an aggressive cancer that can often spread to other areas. His first follow up ultra sound was negative. His second ultrasound on April 8th revealed a new growth on his lymph node. He requires abdominal surgery and 4 to 6 sessions of chemotherapy. Miller is very smart. He knows if I am not feeling well or having a bad day. He gets extra close and to me and often lick my face or ears to comfort. He is ALWAYS starving which makes him cause a bit of mischief as he tries to sneak bites of food from my plate. My vet always said, "don't let him be a beagle or else he will be 500 pounds." So he is on a good diet and gets plenty of treats!
