Moose
Moose is a 4 year old Yorkshire Terrier in Thousand Oaks, CA, who needs $2,000 for Dental Cleaning and Surgery.
Thousand Oaks, CA
This is Moose, he was a stray dog and we have not been able to find the owners. He has been living with myself and my two children. We would like to keep him and give him a good life, but he has gum disease and needs to have a deep cleaning and some teeth removed, he also has an injured knee, which does not need surgery yet. It seems that he was neglected and abused. Moose needs oral cleaning and surgery. He was a stray dog that we rescued. I took him to the vet to see if he had a chip and to get an exam done. The vets main concern is that he has serious teeth decay, the vets said he would need a deep cleaning and some of his teeth removed. When we found Moose he was cold, wet and scared. At the time he was under weight and he only weighed 1.5 lbs. the first two days that we had him he was shaking and scared of everything, he is playful, calm and sweet. He is getting more comfortable around other people and not as scared as he was when we first found him. Since Moose was a rescue from the streets, I am not able to afford for him to get the proper teeth care for him, I am a single mom with two children who have fallen in love with him, they want to keep him, but we can’t afford to make sure he gets what he needs to be healthy.

Simi Valley, CA
Blossom came into my life after she was abandoned in a box at 2 days old with her 4 sisters. Someone posted online that they needed help or they would die. So I went and picked them all up and bottle fed them. I found homes for Anna and Peaches. I kept Lily, Maggie Mae and Blossom. Lily passed at 7 yrs and Maggie passed at 12 yrs.. My sweet babies. Now Blossom is sick and needs help. Please help. Blossom is family. She loves sleeping curled up under my arms She is very sensitive to my moods. Knows when I'm sad or stressed and will crawl in my lap. She loves eggs and comes running as soon as she hears me get out th frying pan. She is very smart and loving. She has a lot of love left to give. Blossom loves to crawl up in my lap and stretch out her legs for a massage. She loves playing in boxes. She can give high fives, loves laying in the morning sunlight. She loves sleeping at the top of her cat tree. In the morning when she's ready for breakfast she'll smack me in the head to wake me up. Blossom has had bladder infections since November 2021. She has been treated with antibiotics by her veterinarian, but now she needs surgery to fix the problem. She has been through so much. She had pneumonia when she was just 6 weeks old and was in the hospital for two days. I nearly lost her. I have no funds to pay for surgery. I am a disabled senior living only on social security. I can't let her suffer because of it. I desperately need help. She needs a cure. Please she is my life.

Gus
Gus is a nine-year-old Pit Bull in Simi Valley, CA, who needs $2,000 for urgent surgeries.
Simi Valley, CA • Southern California Pit Bull Rescue
When you look at his worried, kind eyes, you just want to hug Gus and tell him, "You're going to be OK now. You are safe and loved." Before Southern California Pit Bull Rescue saved Gus, he had reason to be concerned. He was a pit bull sitting in an animal shelter covered in tumors. The shelter deemed him unadoptable, and he was supposed to be euthanized. But when Mark R. from the rescue group heard about Gus, he got the dog a stay of execution, and then Mark got Gus out of there! "We rescued Gus in hopes of giving him a great life," Mark tells Waggle. "It's heartbreaking to see such a loving dog treated like this. Just thrown out like the trash. Unspeakable." Gus has trouble walking because of a tumor on his foot. He has another growth that is bleeding and infected. His ears were backyard butchered and were full of dirt. His teeth are horrible, his front teeth are missing, and he can't chew hard food. He's currently running a fever from an infection. With your help, Gus can get all the surgeries he needs to remove the masses and address his teeth at VCA Westlake Village Animal Hospital. "A life filled with love is what he deserves," Mark says. "He's such a gentle soul that loves to be with humans. Gus deserves better. He's suffered a lifetime of neglect."

Jarbi
Jarbi is a four-year-old Pit Bull in Simi Valley, CA, who needs $900 for urgent dental surgery.
Simi Valley, CA • Southern California Pit Bull Rescue
Despite all Jarbi has been through, he is one of the most resilient and loving dogs to come through the doors of Southern California Pit Bull Rescue. "He was found as a stray," Mark R., from the rescue, tells Waggle. "Even though he was microchipped, his family never came to the shelter to rescue him. Then poor Jarbi developed kennel cough and was placed into isolation, alone and out of public view. Not even the volunteers were allowed to see him and say hello." Mark has a huge heart, and when he hears of dogs like Jarbi, he races to the rescue! "Jarbi is the most loving guy in the world. He's super sweet, loves going on walks, and giving kisses. He's fit in with our pack from the moment we rescued him. Jarbi loves to run around our yard, smell the plants, and enjoy the sunshine," Mark says. But when Mark was getting all those kisses, he got a whiff of Jarbi's breath which alerted him to trouble. "His breath was horrible. When we opened his mouth, we were disgusted to see a totally rotten tooth. It was so badly infected that the infection was in his sinuses," Mark says. Mark brought Jarbi to VCA Westlake Village Animal Hospital and learned Jarbi needs urgent dental surgery and antibiotics immediately. Southern California Pit Bull Rescue doesn't shy away from saving dogs with medical needs, but they rely on donations to care for them. "Just this week alone, we had four dogs that required over $5,000 in vet bills. We are a registered 501(c)(3) that depends on donations to help these amazing dogs," Mark says. The rescue is excited for Jarbi to get his surgery so he can then be posted for adoption and find the forever family he so deserves. "Jarbi has become best friends with another of our rescue dogs," Mark says. "They enjoy going on walks together and just hanging out. Jarbi is a very mild-mannered dog that listens and respects others. He's always wants to be pet and loves human interaction. He loves to hang out and be a part of the family. He's just a fun-loving guy that is looking for his new home."
