Mia
Mia is a 8 year old Mix-Breed in Riverside , CA, who needs $2,000 for Chemotherapy.
Riverside, CA
We adopted Mia as a teeny, tiny baby. She was so small and was really too little to be away from her mom. But, her mom was killed and we brought her to live with us. She’s the sweetest kitty and loves to make biscuits. Back in July, our Mia had to have teeth pulled. The vet noticed a mass in her mouth and had it biopsied. Our worst fears were realized when the vet said she had cancer. We were referred to the Veterinary Cancer Group of Tustin. Mia is such a little love. She loves to play fetch and her fave items to retrieve are Nerf darts. Mia is a cuddler and will sit on my lap for hours. She loves to be wrapped in a blanket. She will “yell” at my sons when they leave, she misses them when they are gone. I work as a caregiver and, while I love my job, I don’t make a lot of money. My sweet little girl is everything to me and I would be crushed if I lost her.

Zara
Zara is a 8-year-old Doberman in Westminster , CA, who needs $2,000 for Chemotherapy.
Westminster, CA
I previously had her brother Tank who passed away from stomach cancer. A couple months later I received a call that the owners of Zara ( Tank's sister) letting me know they were moving to a smaller place and were unable to keep her. I of course told them "yes" since Zara is like a piece of Tank. She has so many people who love her. Zara loves everyone, she just wants love from everyone. She has a beautiful backyard to run and play with my uncle's dog Natty. When she get's excited she smiles and makes noises that sound like a horse. She is so unique and amazing. Zara is the absolute best, she is the most loving, and sweet dog. Any new toy she gets she carries it around like a baby, not one tear. She shares her thrown with our other dog in the house Natty. Zara loves running in the backyard, rolling in the grass, laying in the sun. Her favorite thing to do is chase lizards that she has no chance in catching. She did end up having her amputation procedure on 03/22/24 due to osteosarcoma. There is an emergent need for her to receive chemotherapy (5-6 week course) She had her procedure at Veterinarian Surgical Specialist in Tustin. Due to already paying for Zara's procedure we are struggling to afford the chemo which is critical. The time it would take me to save enough for this may jeopardize her chances of survival as the cancer may spread.

Luigi
Luigi is a 13-year-old Maltese in Yorba Linda, CA, who needs $474 for Bloodwork and Medication.
Yorba Linda, CA
Luigi came into our lives 13 years ago as a Christmas gift to my son from Santa. All her ever wanted was a puppy. We rescued him from a puppy mill in Arizona and the rest is history. He's been part of our family ever since. He brings us so much love, cuddles and joy. He's with at least one of us, by our side, throughout the day. Luigi is every bit a part of our family pack. He brings us so much joy from the minute he wakes up. He trots downstairs and patiently waits for his breakfast and walk. He walked my son to kindergarten, middle school and took part in his high school drive through graduation, due to covid. Our hope is that he makes it to see our son graduate from college. It's a possibility. For Luigi to stay on the current long term drug therapy that is working, he needs frequent bloodwork and X-rays that are expensive. It's been tough as Mom has had trouble finding work due to covid and treatment is expensive and long term. Luigi was diagnosed with lung cancer on 11/4/20. He has a primary tumor in his right lung the size of a kiwi fruit. We were devastated and started treatment that day. We decided to treat his cancer with a chemo drug called Palladia that kills off the receptor cells to the cancer. So far we have seen success and in two months the tumor is shrinking, which means the treatment is working. Luigi is simply the heart of my family. He is affectionate, playful, smart and has helped us get through some tough times. I don't know what we would have done without him during covid. He's been keeping us entertained with his playful disposition and he's been a great companion out on little walks to keep our minds away from the harsh reality of the world right now.

2020 was a rough year for Celia R., and without your help, 2021 will be even tougher. Celia lost her job due to COVID-19, her son was diagnosed with a debilitating illness, and then their beloved dog, Luigi, was diagnosed with lung cancer. "Lung cancer is very rare and only affects less than one percent of dogs," Celia tells Waggle. "He had his first appointment with the oncologist at Advanced Veterinary Specialty Group. Dr. Bommarito performed a chest X-ray, and it showed a mass the size of a kiwi on Luigi’s right lung." The news devastated Celia and her family. "I adopted Luigi 12 years ago as a gift from Santa for my son," Celia says. "All he wanted for Christmas was a puppy. My son refers to him as his little brother. Luigi walked my son to kindergarten every day, and he was part of my son’s high school graduation this year. They even wore matching graduation caps." Luigi started taking anti-cancer pills, and they appear to be shrinking the tumor! The problem is Celia can't afford the cost of his treatment, which seems promising so far. She is desperately trying to find another job. "It's just a bad time right now," she adds. "I do marketing and events, and we have no events because of the pandemic." Her family would be thrilled to keep Luigi's treatment going and hope, with your help, they may reach their fundraising goal. "Luigi is the sweetest dog alive. He's the heart of my family. We were so devastated when we heard the news. Now we want to keep him in a healthy place. He's the sunshine of my family." Their family is trying to be optimistic, but they need help paying for Luigi's care. "Luigi is simply the heart of my little family. He’s very well behaved, loving and playful. Our lives are so much better because he has been in our family. He’s the best part of our day. Luigi loves to play and guard the door. His cute little bark has certainly kept us safe! He loves to run around outdoors, and he loves to eat his num nums," Celia adds.
