Gracie

Gracie is a 1 year old Chihuahua in FOXBORO, MA, who needs $6,600 for Dentistry.

FOXBORO, MA

I got Gracie from a woman who stated she had some chihuahua puppies for sale from a post I saw on Facebook. I had lost my Buttercup to cancer in December of 2024 who I had for 13 years and felt this was a sign from her to get another dog as I was very lonely. Buttercup was my best friend and my family and wanted to bring another dog to love in my life. Gracie a large malocclusion - the biggest one the dentist from Veterinary Dental Services located in Boxboro MA has ever seen. She needs teeth out as they are piercing her pallet. In addition, she needs certain teeth out due to the large overbite so she can eat better without pain from the overcrowding of her other teeth due to the overbite that she was born with. Gracie is special because she came to me at a point in my life when I was very depressed from my other dog passing away. All of my family has passed away so having Gracie is my family and brings me joy every single day. Gracie loves people and children. She always wants to play Getting Gracie the dentistry that she needs will allow her to not be in pain anymore. It will help her to eat without pain. Money is tight because I had cancer a few years ago and financially lost alot as I could not work for almost three years.

Pugsley

Pugsley is a 10-year-old Pug in Revere, MA, who needs $2,000 for dental extraction surgery.

revere, MA

Pugsley was having respiratory issues since end of May. We could not figure out what was going on but we were in and out of the emergency room due to "sleep apnea" like disturbances. After many expensive test we found out he was overall a healthy dog BUT he had a tooth abscess and dental disease that was causing him to suffer when he fell asleep because his nasal drip was a symptom of the teeth decay. We really want to finish the last step so we can keep Pugsley. He would greatly appreciate it so he can live a longer healthier life.

Zorro

Zorro is a 10-year-old Shih Tzu in North Chelmsford, MA, who needs $2,000 for teeth extraction and jaw fracture treatment.

North Chelmsford, MA

We rescued Zorro from Friends of Homeless Animals of Rhode Island – FOHARI.ORG last month. We had been hoping to rescue a senior dog for some time now and give him/her a quiet, loving home. Our home was missing a pet. I worked with a wonderful volunteer from FOHARI – Deb Morgan. We were initially interested in a Shih Tzu named Shorty. But after he arrived in New England and Deb had him for a few nights, she said she didn’t think he’d be a good fit for our family because he is always under foot and Deb worried about him being a tripping hazard for my 82 yo mother who lives with us. While disappointed, I had to agree with Deb. And then Zorro became available. Well as the old saying goes “good things come to those that wait”!! Zorro has been a perfect match for our family. While we had multiple trips to the vet within 8 days of picking him up – first for a double ear infection and then, of more concern, for an infected abscessed tooth and cracked jaw, he doing so much better. He had most of his teeth removed on June 5 and happily after a 3D scan, his jaw is appearing to repair itself on its own per the veterinary dental specialist whom our vet referred me to. He will have remaining back teeth removed in late August after his jaw has fully healed. Poor fellow came to us with a “hot mess” of a mouth unbeknownst to us and to the wonderful folks at FOHARI, but again he is doing, and more importantly FEELING, so much better. We love our little man and an appreciate the help with regards getting his mouth issues cleared up so he can be pain-free and live the happy life he so deserves!!
