Pugsley

Pugsley Is a 6-Year-Old Mixed-Breed in Seattle, WA, Who Needs $10,400 for CT Scan, Rhinoscopy, and Diagnostic Testing.

Seattle, WA

Pugsley aka Sir Puglesworth the Wise has been in my life since 2020. Over the last 6 years, both he and his sister Wednesday have brought joy and shenanigans into my life. He is the best part of my day and got me kept me going through pandemic lockdowns. Pugsley has been battling sinus congestion since June. We’ve tried multiple rounds of antivirals and antibiotics but it hasn’t resolved. The internal medicine vet recommended a CT, an endoscopy, a biopsy and several blood tests to diagnose the issue. Pugsley greets me at the door when I come home from work every day. He supervises bath time and dinner to make sure nothing bad happens to me. The best part of my day is listening to him chirp about his day while getting belly rubs. If he could do nothing but snuggle with me all day, he would be in heaven This year I had multiple car repairs, my hysterectomy, and two months of visits to our regular vet and emergency vets all in the last six months. This completely wiped out any savings I had in reserve

Nigel

Nigel is a 13 year old Mix-Breed in Seattle, WA, who needs $21,000 for Transdiaphragmatic Pacemaker Surgery.

Seattle, WA

Nigel was found on the winter streets of Manhattan & brought ASPCA. The shelter estimated he was 3, likely abandoned. He was in bad shape, underweight, with a bad infection and had a scratched-up face (still has a scar on his nose and jaw). No one knew what had happened to him. We came into the shelter during an adoption weekend and saw some other cats, but then noticed Nigel. Shy, scared, lost. Nigel has a low heart rate and needs a pacemaker. His doctors at the Veterinary Specialty Center of Seattle tell us it's a rare surgery for cats and he will have months of recovery and follow-ups. If we do not do it ASAP we risk sudden heart failure. Nigel has had episodes: he has seized up and once he fell down stairs. These are signs his heart is already facing issues and we need to act. From the day we met Nigel (full name Chairman Nigel Atticus Meow esq.) he has been a lover, always headbutting anyone who comes near him for pets and snuggles. He has burrowed his way into our hearts, as well as our sofas, to the point of creating Nigel-shaped dips between cushions. It used to annoy me; now it reminds me of the mark, physical and mental, that my little buddy has made. Unfortunately, this procedure is very expensive and very rare. I have limited means, was laid off, am seeking work and trying to sort out how to give my family member the care he needs. All I know is I can't give up on family and need to find a way.

Leo

Leo is a 7 year old German Shepherd Dog in Arlington, WA, who needs $2,000 for Chemotherapy.

Arlington, WA

We got Leo as a puppy for my daughter when she was 11 years old. She was struggling with preteen life and a puppy was just the loving friend she needed. He immediately became a loved member of our family. We got another german shepard puppy a few years later, Scrappy. Leo loved having another dog friend. My daughter went away to college last year and having Leo with me has been such a blessing. Leo was diagnosed with Lymphoma two weeks ago. He was losing weight and struggling to breathe. Then I noticed swelling on his neck and chest. He is being seen at Veterinary Specialty Center of Lynnwood Leo is my everything. He hikes with me and allows me to feel safe on trails alone. He sleeps with me at night. He loves chasing balls more then anything! He always brings them back and is ready to go again. He can find a specific ball you throw out of a pile. Or a rock. He will fetch anything and retrieve it. He never leaves my side and makes me feel so loved and cared for. I am a newly single mom of five. And I never expected it or to have huge medical bills for Leo. And it comes when my daughter has just left home and started college. I feel like so much is being taken from me at once. Having Leo by my side means the world to me.

Batman

Batman is a 2-year-old Domestic Medium Haired Cat in Seattle, WA, who needs $2,000 for Urgent Trauma Care.

Seattle, WA

Are your pets able to make you laugh hysterically and also cry until you can't see your eyes are so blurred? That is what my boys do and right now I'm all tears! I met Batman in Renton when he was just barely old enough to leave his mom. We were stuck together like white on rice from the gate. And I brought him home and his sister was not too happy, yet Spartan was fascinated by the little guy. My boys are like two peas in a pod, a few years age difference makes no difference in the amount of energy the big boy will exert trying to keep up with him. Since day 1 Batman has looked up to Spartan always tagging along for the catventure of the day, and Spartan was just as eager to teach the young little guy everything he knows. They literally will lay in the same positions & cuddle for hours I chose to name this little guy Batman for his superhero like skills in the cat world and for his super empathetic personality I've witnessed him showing to my oldest kitty, Zoeygirl (the snapcase). Spartan has been the absolute best teacher of all things cat related, hunting, catching, chirping, loving, cuddling anso much more! I know Spartan is so depressed not having his sidekick by his side Currently iSpartan and I patiently(I am a wreck trying to keep composure for my boys though) are waiting at the veterinary specialty Center of Seattle(in Lynnwood) for an absolute miracle, blessing, hand up,...answered prayer! My boy is in critical condition but stable as the doctor has him on an oxygen machine pain and sedation meds with multiple injuries after being hit by a car and rushed herel This is my plea, I am begging you if you can find it in your heart to please help save my boy! These guys are my world and I would be absolutely devastated to have to say goodbye to my baby guy. I do not have children...my fur babies are my kids they are my everything!!

Shorty

Shorty is a 9-year-old Terrier Mix in Oak Harbor , WA, who needs $2,000 for Gallbladder Surgery.

OAK HARBOR, WA

My dog Shorty is a puppy from my previous dog Harmony. I kept him and his sister, his sister was hit by a car and passed away. I was living in California and lost my job and developed COPD, I became homeless eventually with Shorty. My daughter in Washington state saw my suffering and took me and Shorty into her home. I have lived with her for the past 8 years. Shorty had no medical concern until now Shorty sleeps next to me every night. He never leaves my side. My daughter has 2 other dogs that he really loves to interact with. He's not vocal but he's really playful. Shorty has been by my side through my darkest days and he still is til this day, I will do anything possible to help him as he did me. Him sleeping under my blanket and grinning his teeth is what I love most. He was taken to the emergency clinic due to swelling in the abdomen. They discovered he has ruptured a gallbladder and needs immediate surgery to save his life. I don't have an income and live with my daughter. I also have COPD and Shorty is all I have that can help me emotionally. It will mean everything in the world to have him back home again.

Photo of Susie Q

Susie Q

Susie Q is a 13-year-old Catahoula Cur in Everett, WA, who needs $1,700 for Tumor Removal.

Everett, WA

Susie Q came from a litter of 8 puppies born on January 14, 2008 in Hope, AR. It was a family member's dog who had puppies, so I got first pick. I was there the day they were born and I picked both Susie Q and Tubby because they were inseparable, even before their eyes opened. I have had these 2 siblings literally since the day they were born. They are not just dogs, the are family. My kids. Susie Q loves attention. She loves forcing people to pet her by pushing her head under their hand. She loves cuddling and treats! We have conversations with her about her treat addiction. She will wimper and "talk back" if you take too long giving her one or denying her one if she's had too many. She is very loving and often called a sweetheart by anyone who meets her. Surgeon Mark Garneau has quoted me $7007.19 - $8348.83 for the removal of this tumor. I am not in a place financially to afford this. I have already spent $2000 just to diagnose her. Susie and her brother are my world. 13 years by side, I'm not ready to give up on her. January of this year Susie began bleeding, she is spayed. The last 7 months she has seen the vet many times. We tried 4 antibiotics, 3 anti-inflammatories, an herbal medicine, and an ultra sound and finally had to go to a specialist, VSC of Seattle. She has started bleeding excessively. Last week we found out it was a tumor. Susie Q needs this tumor removed in order for her bleeding to stop. Susie has always been special to me. When I was sick a few years back, needing surgery, she was always right there. She would cuddle up to me, lick me, and never left my side. She's never been one to play with toys that often, but she does love to "attack" her front paw. It's a funny characteristic of hers. She'll randomly look at her paw, then lightly strike at it. She'll do that for hours!

Rickie

Rickie is a two-year-old Australian Cattle Dog in Mount Vernon, WA, who needs $2,000 for an MRI.

Mount Vernon, WA • Pacific Northwest Cattle Dog Rescue

From the moment Pacific Northwest Cattle Dog Rescue saved Rickie, she has limped and had trouble walking. The reason why remains a mystery, and now the rescue needs your help to find out answers. "She's a spunky quintessential cattle dog. She's obsessed with fetch, which is difficult with her mobility issues," Marie A., with the nonprofit group, tells Waggle. "She wants to run. We want to get her close to having that life she deserves." The sweet dog and her pup were originally dumped in Texas during the devastating winter storm that hit the state earlier this year. "You never know what you're getting into when you rescue a dog, but we didn't think twice when we learned they were in need," Marie says. Rickie is now living in a foster home in Washington. She needs an MRI at the Veterinary Specialty Center of Seattle to help her medical team diagnosis what's going on. "She doesn't appear to be in pain, but her mobility issues slow her down," Marie adds. "We need the scan to get the information and figure out does she need surgery or supportive therapy." The outlook for Rickie is very positive, and once her medical issue is figured out, she will be up for adoption. "She’s settled in beautifully with her foster family and their two resident dogs," Marie says. "She loves hanging out in the backyard and going on leash walks with the rest of the family. Rickie has already been on a couple of boat rides in Puget Sound. She loved it!" Please help Rickie get the scan she needs. "She's got a strong spirit," Marie adds. "She's a brave dog, that's for sure."

Niko

Niko is a 6 month-old Standard Poodle in Snohomish, WA, who needs $2,000 for Kidney Dialysis .

Snohomish, WA

Niko was born on January 10th 2020 and I had the great privilege of helping to deliver him, along with his 6 other brothers and sisters. Niko resides in the same home where he was born, surrounded by his parents, and their owners, my parents, along with one of his brothers Brew, me and my daughter. Niko is always the life of the party, he loves to play and gets along with everyone. Him and his brother, Brew, are two peas in a pod, they often talk to one another and play their favorite game of tug-a-war. He enjoys walks, being brushed, tummy rubs and a good meal. The bacterial disease, Leptrospirosis, is attacking his kidneys, compromising his kidney functions and has required him to undergo, so far, 5 dialysis treatments. This sudden emergent need has created a hardship with over twenty-thousand dollars in specialty care. This is all about how my little pup, although not so little, has a personality bigger than life but is fighting hard to keep it. At the start of this month Niko was acting unlike himself, not active nor eating, which are two of his favorite things. We took him to VCA of Seattle and has been under the great care of Dr. Gambino and Dr. Tse treating him for Leptospirosis, a bacterial disease. Niko is a special pup I knew this from the moment he was born and I helped him take his first breath. After holding him, after he was first born I instantly felt connected with him, he was a gift at time in my life when I needed unconditional love and companionship.

Mount Vernon, WA

I got Nitka when she was 3 months old, after getting her sister Redinka. And falling in love with her personality. Unfortunately I had to put Redinka to sleep at 3 years old, do to instestinal cancer. Nitka has her kennel mate/bff, Bandit(A rescue) who is in pictures with her. He is lost without her around him. If he can't find her, he will run around searching until he does. Then he is all wiggly and smiles. Nitka loves to do anything with mom. We used to go on trail walks, and swimming. Yet now she can't walk more then a few blocks, and she won't swim. She just wades around in the water. Nitka is severely loved by my son, and all of his friends, that grew up with her.
