Delilah

Delilah is a 6 year old Cane Corso in Fall River, MA, who needs $980 for Spay, Mass Removal, Heartworm Test, Vaccines, and Meds.

Fall River, MA • Forever Paws Animal Shelter

* Forever Paws Animal Shelter * Delilah was sized from an apartment in New Bedford along with 20 other dogs. She was being kept in a stifling hot attic, covered in feces and urine. Many of these dogs came to us with ear infections, skin infections, overgrown nails, etc. Delilah specifically has a mammary mass that needs to be removed when she is spayed. Delilah will need to be spayed, will need her mammary mass removed, will need vaccines, and a heartworm test. She will be treated at Village Veterinary Hospital in New Bedford, MA. Despite the situation that Delilah came from, she is a sweet, loving, snuggly girl that loves hugs, loves people, and gets along great with other dogs. She doesn't quite know how to be a dog, though; she doesn't understand toys and she's still nervous about accepting love. As a shelter that does not receive any state funding, we're struggling to provide medical care for all of these dogs. They will all need to spayed/neutered, all will need vaccines, and some will need more extensive treatment. We would love to give these dogs a second chance!

Tatum

Tatum is a 3 year old Cane Corso in Fall River, MA, who needs $942 for Neuter, Meds, Entropion Surgery, Heartworm Test.

Fall River, MA • Forever Paws Animal Shelter

* Forever Paws Animal Shelter * On July 8th 2024, New Bedford Animal Control seized 21 dogs from a home in New Bedford, MA. These dogs, 12 cane corsos and 9 bulldog mixes, were kept in deplorable conditions. It was well over 100 degrees in the attic and the third floor apartment where these dogs were kept and they were covered in feces and urine. They are now being cared for by staff at Forever Paws Animal Shelter in Fall River. These dogs came in with urine burns, pressure sores, overgrown nails, wounds both fresh and in various stages of healing, skin conditions, and various infections. Tatum needs to be neutered and heartworm tested prior to adoption and also needs entropion surgery. These dogs, despite the situation that they came from, have not shown any aggression. Some are understandably fearful, most of them have no idea what to do with human interaction and have no idea how to handle affection. They clearly want to be loved and many of them will crawl right into our laps and tuck themselves under our chins. They are all so, so deserving of a second chance. As a non-profit that runs strictly off of donations, we were not prepared for an undertaking of this scale but we're determined to do right by every single one of these dogs. Many of them are large breeds (~100lbs) so spays/neuters alone can be around $1k-$2k.
