Ashburn

Ashburn is a 2 year old Mix-Breed in Stafford, VA, who needs $7,285 for Hospitalization and Urinary Unblocking.

Stafford, VA

Ashburn was a rescue kitten that I adopted two years ago. He and his brother were living with a foster family that cared for many rescue kittens. When he came home with me, he weighed about 0.5 lb less than his brother, Shadowflame. He was obsessed with food and showed signs of resource guarding. Over time, he grew out of it after I started feeding him and his brother separately. Yesterday when I got home, I noticed Ashburn had been licking his hind end, and there were drops of dark yellow urine all over the room. I immediately realized he might have a urinary blockage and needed emergency care. After four hours of waiting at the emergency vet, he was diagnosed with intermittent urinary blockages and a heart murmur. Ashburn has always been shy and quiet since he was a kitten. When he was younger, he loved sleeping on my neck. I would always wake up in the middle of the night with a dry throat because of him. He loves playing with his brother and laying on me whenever he can. I’m a 23-year-old recent graduate working full-time as a vet assistant while helping my mom pay the mortgage and bills. I already have significant student loan and credit card debt, and Ashburn’s emergency care has added thousands more. Any help means so much.

Dozer

Dozer is a 1-year-old English Bulldog in Partlow, VA, who needs $1,000 for surgery.

Partlow, VA

Dozer came into our lives when we were at a very low point. We had lost our first bulldog after 10 years and then lost my in laws and we did not think that that huge hole would ever be filled again. We took one look at his sweet face and just knew we had to have him. We got him when he was just 8 weeks old. He had to have umbilical hernia surgery about a month after we got him. Dozer sleeps with me and my husband mostly. He loves to cuddle. He is a big baby. I laid down on the couch with a blanket and he jumps up and curls up. He loves to play with all of his toys. He is the happiest baby ever!! He gets so excited whenever someone comes home. Or even just plays with him. He loves to take car rides. He loves to lay in the sun. He loves to play ball outside. It would mean the world for Dozer to as healthy as possible since he is still young. I am on disability and my husband just started back to work. We do not have and emergency fund anymore thanks to COVID. We are looking to get help for a surgery of Dozers soft palate. We didnt think that he was going to have an isssue when he was a puppy but as he has gotten older is has become important for us to get it done asap. He gets to worked up and has trouble breathing. We have to slow feed him otherwise he gets sick. Virginia Veterinary Centers is who will be doing his surgery. Dozers favorite toy is his rope and his firehose. He plays so much with them that we have to take them away for him to take a break. Dozer is very clumsy. He will run you over if you not watching. He can make the worst day good just by sitting in your lap or giving kisses. He has just been so very special to us.
