Seven years ago, a ten-week-old Great Pyrenees puppy entered my life, healing a childhood heartache from giving away our English Sheepdog, Sugar Bear. Hence, the name Sugar Baby. Her sister, Buttercup, a Golden Doodle, is lonely without her playmate. They take turns sleeping with my daughter or in my bed. Our home feels empty without Sugar Baby’s gentle spirit, and we can't wait for her to come ho Emergency Sugar Baby ingested an unknown toxin. She is under Dr. Vega’s care at Warwick Animal Hospital, receiving lifesaving IV fluids and medications to flush the toxin from her liver. Her ATL count has dropped from 2000 to 962, but she needs more time in the hospital to recover and lower her ATL and bilirubin levels. Continuing this treatment is critical to saving her life. Sugar Baby loves the snow but turns prissy in the rain, insisting on her raincoat. Her favorite spot is in front of the air vent.
