Bear

Bear is a 4 year old Ragdoll in Denver, CO, who needs $2,000 for Adrenalectomy for Primary Hyperaldosteronism.

Denver, CO

We brought Bear home as a kitten in May 2020 after losing our beloved 14-year-old cat. Bear lives with his big-sister cat and a little-brother kitten (foster fail!) as well as his human mom (that's me), dad, sister, and brother. When we got him, he was like a little snuggly teddybear, so we named him Bear. Little did we know he'd grow into his name—a huge bear of a cat! But a gentle one.:) In Aug., Bear had 2 ER surgeries for urinary blockages. 2 wks later, he began holding his head oddly, shaking, & became lethargic. We rushed him to a hospital, where he stayed overnight & was referred to a specialist who diagnosed him with hypokalemia. This led to imaging, & a tumor was found on his adrenal gland. An oncologist predicts a 97% chance of saving him with surgery to remove the tumor. Bear brings us so much joy! He's a very relaxed guy, and his easy-going antics keep us laughing. My youngest makes cat toys and cardboard hideouts for him, and my oldest often has him snuggled up by her side while reading. He's truly a gentle soul and has always been so sweet and tolerant with our kids. He's a fluffy marshmallow of love. (His curiosity can sometimes get him into a pickle, though!) We have $8k in bills to pay off from the last surgeries, & an estimated $11k is needed for this one. Those costs combined with expenses for one kiddo who has extra medical and therapy needs, means we are struggling to find the funds to save Bear without financial ruin.
