Our family adopted Dodi seven years ago from the animal control shelter. She's a gentle and sweet soul, and has been since the day we got her. Other members of her for family include Bobo, Mimi, and Ripley, three small dogs, along with our bunny, Lulu. Dodi he In the past three weeks, she started to lose weight and lost appetite. We took her to our vet, and after bloodwork and x-rays, it was determined that she likely has acute pancreatitis. For the past several days, we have attempted to treat her at home with fluids, but she is not improving, and continues to lose weight Dodie is a sweet and gentle dog, always needing cuddles and physical contact with us. When healthy, she can be playful. She gets along with her brother and sisters, and is the matriarch of the group Financially, her income has taken a huge hit. Due to layoffs at my job, my income was reduced 30%, which I'm attempting to make it through a second job as best I can. Likewise, my wife's income has dropped, due to cats and services for her job. Dodi's diagnosis cost $400.

Bear

Bear is a 4-month-old Domestic Long Hair Cat in Indianapolis, IN, who needs $300 for Eye Removal.

Indianapolis, IN

My mom found two kittens with very severe eye infections back in July and took them in to care for them. Although we were told putting them down would be the best option, we believed they had enough spunk to make it and they’re still as spunky as ever 4 months later! But now they both need their bad eyes removed (Bear needs both, Monty needs one). Bear is a fun, unique little guy. He doesn’t have any sight left but still loves life, most especially climbing things. He is a little shyer than his brother Monty but is always happy and purring just being around people. He often will spin around in circles like he is chasing his tail until he gets dizzy and falls down. We definitely think it’s a coping mechanism for being completely blind, either an a compulsion or as a way to entertain himself. Either way, it’s one of a kind just like him. At our most recent vet visit at West Michigan Veterinary Clinic, we realized both of these brothers, Monty and Bear, will need their bad eyes removed in order to live healthy lives free from infection. Bear’s case is worst with him needing both eyes removed. My mom is in her mid-80s and lives on social security benefits with not much wiggle room for emergencies like this and I’m a full-time student living on loans. We are hoping to rehome these guys together after they recover from their surgery. The cost for Bear alone is estimated to be up to $800.

Riley

Riley is a 9-year-old German Shepherd in Indianapolis , IN, who needs $800 for Kidney Stone Removal and Neuter..

Indianapolis, IN

Riley has been in our family since he was 11 weeks old. Recently we have lost our business and our finances have taken a huge hit on us. Last Friday on 9/15/2023 Riley had to be taken to the emergency vet due to the inability to pee. He had kidney stones. They had to push the stone back up and help him pee again. Riley is a very fun loving dog with an admiration for cats. He loves his big brother (my son) and would do anything for him. He's our big baby and has been with us through the he roughest and best times of our lives. Riley loves to chew on boxes and is very smart. However, his favorite past time is seeing how quickly he can get away with getting food out of the trash without getting caught. Riley will need kidney stone removal surgery at the West Michigan Street Veterinary clinic on Tuesday 09/26/2023 at 8:00 am. I have $400 of my own money to apply to it, but the whole surgery will be $1085. We lost our business in 2021 and things have just gone down hill since then. Riley has been a rock in our family providing emotional support and unconditional love. For him to be back up to health would mean the world for me.

Hulk

Hulk is a 3-year-old German Shepherd mix in Indianapolis, IN who needs $675 for leg amputation and medications.

Indianapolis, IN

He was given to me by a friend because I needed a service dog. He likes to play tug of war, going on walks, fetch and cuddling. I just recently took him to the vet because he was limping on his back leg. I thought he might have just twisted it but the X Ray's came back as maybe he had bone cancer or bone fungus. I took him for more x rays and it showed bone cancer he just needs his leg amputated. He loves everyone and gets spoiled. We all play with him and take care of him. When we found out what he has it just broke our heart. He loves to get alot of attention and gets its everyday. Since he's came into our life he's made everyone smile with the funny things he does. He loves to try and get in the small dogs bed I lost my job and waiting to be approved for disability. My family is on a fixed income and trying to help as much as they can. I will mean everything to me if he can be healthy again. He helps with my anxiety and depression. I'm just looking for help with getting his leg amputated so that he can live a happy life. Since the bone cancer hasn't spread anywhere else amputation is what he needs. All I want is for home to be healthy and not have pain from his leg. I don't k how how he got bone cancer but I don't want it to get worse. He sits, shakes and high five. He loves to give hugs. He tries to get in small places but realizes that he can't fit. He got a sticky mouse trap stuck to his paw and had me take it off for him. It was funny how he brought his paw to me. He gets curious all the time. I love him so much and I don't want to lose him.
