Pup, lovingly nicknamed “Pupperoni,” first came into our lives in September 2025 when his owner enrolled him in training with my husband, Tyler. Over the past several months, we trained and boarded him multiple times and grew very attached to him. About three weeks ago, his owner decided she could no longer keep him and planned to surrender him to a shelter. We stepped in immediately, brought him After worsening blood blisters on his stomach began bleeding, we brought Pup to the vet for evaluation. A fine needle aspirate revealed mast cells in one mass, raising concern for a mast cell tumor, while the blood-filled lesions may be hemangiomas or hemangiosarcomas. Surgery and biopsy are urgently needed to determine severity and remove the masses safely. Pup is one of the sweetest dogs we’ve ever met. Despite everything he’s been through, he loves cuddling close to his people, soaking up the sunshine outside, and being part of the family. He’s incredibly affectionate, goofy, and eager to please. Watching him finally feel safe and loved has made us completely fall in love with “Pupperoni.” I’m currently in CRNA school, so we are living on a single income while unexpectedly fostering Pup.
