Beau is my whole heart. He came to us after being dumped at a local park with his sister (my mom rescued his sister). We got Beau at 4 months old and have been doing life together for the last 6 years. He lives with us and his two German Shepherd “brothers.” His name is from Brother Bear, spelled “Beau” because he is a sophisticated boy. Beau is being treated for a suspected slipped disc (back injury) affecting his mobility (difficulty walking, leg dragging, paw knuckling, panting/whining). He is taking prednisone, gabapentin, and Robaxin (methocarbamol) every 12 hours. Our vet recommends referral to UGA for a neurologist/surgeon. Vet: Dacula Animal Hospital We have struggled with infertility for 6 years, and Beau has helped fill that hole in our hearts. He has been there through every loss, every move, and every hard time. He’s my emotional support dog and a staple of our whole family, and everyone who meets him loves him. He’s the sweetest boy and wants to lick everyone he meets. We are facing a catastrophic emergency with Beau’s back injury and the urgent specialist care he needs to be diagnosed and pain-free. At the same time, my dad recently had a back procedure and is now paralyzed and unable to work, and we are helping care for my parents too.
