Macha

Macha is a 2-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier in Arlington, TX, who needs $2,000 for Left TPLO.

Arlington, TX

We received Macha from a family member about 2 1/2 years ago. She was the tiniest little chubby puppy, and I knew I just had to make sure she had a loving home to be in. She now lives with us and our other pitbull who is four years old. They play and nap together all day long. We have a decent sized backyard or they can enjoy the day. Everyone loves Macha! She is a big baby, who loves pets, and belly wraps. She gets along with all the other dogs in the family, and she is super energetic! She loves fetch and tug-of-war and the occasional giant bone. She loves to cuddle up close to you and even steal your warm spot on the couch if you get up. Macha loves watching television! I’ve never had a dog that has been so interested in what is on TV. Her favorite things are other animals especially cats and dogs but she will honestly pretty much watch anything that we are watching. I should probably try a scary movie and see how she reacts but I’m not the biggest fan of those so maybe not. We were informed that both of her legs had torn CCLs. She was limping around for a while and we thought it was maybe something with her foot but it ended up being much more serious. We had to take her to a veterinary surgical center in order to get our estimate for the procedure(s) that are needed to help her. We are really in need of help paying for her surgery. No pet insurance covers this illness. I got denied for care credit and I just don’t have the savings to cover this major surgery. It is completely unexpected and extremely expensive. It breaks my heart to see her hurting.

Boba

Boba is a 19-month-old Labrador in San Tan Valley, AZ, who needs $992 for Procedures.

San Tan Valley, AZ

We got Boba when he was a baby through a young lady who’s dog had puppies. Boba has been part of our family for almost 2 years now. Boba has a older brother named Yoda who is a corgi chihuahua mix. Boba has a very distinctive tongue because it looks like a cow. Boba has access to a doggy door so he can go as he pleases, or just chase birds away. Bob has his own personal kennel that he loves to sleep in. When he’s not in his kennel he’s laying by our feet next to the couch. Boba has always been a playful and cheerful dog. He loves to snuggle with everyone especially with his brother Yoda. Boba is super energetic and loves to swim in our pool. Boba is one of a kind. We fell in love with Boba because of his resemblance from one of the hyenas from The Lion King. Bobas tongue is always hanging from the side of his mouth and he always has the biggest smile to go along with it. Boba is always dragging his big brother around from his vest just so Boba can play. We went on a trip and upon returning we noticed that Boba wasn’t eating as much. After a couple of days Boba started to drop weight drastically. We took him to QC Veterinary Clinic where they tested for Valley Fever but came back negative. They want to run further blood work/tests and possibly get some X-rays/ultrasound done. I am an aide at my children’s school so we can have the same schedule and not have to worry about childcare. My children have always adored Boba. It’s heartbreaking watching my children trying to feed Boba by the hand because Boba is getting weaker by the day.

Photo of Friia

Friia

Friia is a 11-month-old Pitbull/Lab/Dachshund in Portland, OR, who needs $1,765 for Vaginal Reevaluation and Repair.

Portland, OR

We adopted Friia from a shelter in Portland after falling in love with her from the first meeting. She was just nine weeks old and the cutest little squish. Now, she will turn a year old in August 2022. She is the definition of a pillow pibble and Velcro dog - she LOVES to cuddle up to us on the couch. She is also goofy, fun loving, and active, which has enriched our life endlessly. As I mentioned, Friia sticks to her people like Velcro. She loves to check out what we are up to, and gets TOO excited when she sees us sweeping the floor! When the weather is nice she loves to lay out in the sun to bake like a potato. She has two cat brothers that she loves, but they are still figuring out what to do with all her energy. That doesn’t matter, as Friia thinks they are best friends. Friia is a goofball. She will lose her mind over rope toys and balls, but also loves ice cubes as an enrichment treat. She is obsessed with kissing our feet and stealing our slippers - not to chew, just to cuddle up to. She goes to daycare and is best friends with a boxer who will play hard with her all day. She also loves the huskies and daycare because they taught her how to talk! Friia was expelling vaginal discharge that didn’t improve with typical treatment. We were able to see specialists at Sunstone and discovered that the situation is more serious. Friia has recurrent urinary tract infections and a tucked vulva. She either needs vaginal reconstruction or removal of a kidney if the infection is too far advanced. Renal failure is possible if left untreated. I have had medical complications due to Covid-19 even though vaccinated. We already have medical debts and cannot afford to take out additional loans or credit. I also had to leave my previous job due to health issues and am now earning significantly less money than before.

Austin

Austin is a 4-year-old Hound mix in Bella Vista, who needs $1,013 for Liver Disease Treatment.

Bella Vista

We adopted Austin from the Bella Vista Animal Shelter when he was about 6 months old. He is now 4 and up until now, he has never suffered any health problems with the exception of hookworms once. We own a home in Bella Vista with a fenced in back yard. Austin is one of many rescues we own. We have a total of 4 rescue cats and 3 rescue dogs and 1 recent foster fail dog. There are 4 humans in the home. Myself, my significant other, and two 13 year old boys. Austin, or Moose as we often call him, is our boys' favorite dog. We take Moose and his siblings on hikes, to the creek, or on the grandparents boat as frequently as possible. I work from home and am with my dogs all day. My significant other is disabled and also at home with them daily. Austin is special to us because he is a sweet, gentle guy. As a hound mix, he does love to talk, especially when the boys get home from school! We had another female dog that was his best friend and we tragically lost her about 2 years ago. Since then, we adopted another female that is best friends with Austin. I couldn't handle the boys losing their favorite dog at such a young age. Out of nowhere, Austin started acting lethargic about 2 weeks ago and couldn't keep his breakfast down but could eat his dinner. One day while lying next to him on the bed, I decided to check his capillary refill (I have worked or been around dogs my whole life) and immediately noticed he was jaundiced. I rushed him to the vet after calling ahead. He stayed overnight and came back for bloodwork. Austin is doing better although we don't know what spurred the liver disease. He is improving but has to remain on a hepatic diet and 5 medications for now. I am picking up him and the second vet bill today.

NuNu

NuNu is a 1-year-old American shorthair in Punxsutawney , PA, who needs $1,600 for Luxating Patella Surgery in both hind legs.

Punxsutawney, PA

Nunu was rescued at 8 weeks old by my Dad who is 80. She is the sweetest cat who is now a year old. A few months ago she started having mobility issues and seemed to be in pain. I took her to a local vet and they diagnosed her with luxating patellas in both hind legs. This is a genetic condition. We were referred to Clarion Animal Hospital. She needs surgery and is on pain meds now. NuNu is a very loving, sweet cat! We call her NuNu Jean. We are taking care of her now as my Dad is 80 and can’t manage her care at the moment. My Dad is a veteran and was self employed most of his life. He values her companionship. We are hoping she gets the surgery and will have a long, happy life. NuNu is such a lady. We call her Mama and pretty lady and Nuudle Jean. She loves to watch tv and listen to bird sounds and napping. Her fur is the softest I have felt, She is shy and likes to stay indoors. Loves meal times and treats. Gets along well with her pet siblings, NiNi her brother and our dog Bentley. NuNu was seen at Countryside Animal Hospital in Smicksburg, Pa. They are prescribed her pain meds. She was seen at Clairon Animal Hospital as well. X rays were done at both. Clarion will be doing the surgery. An estimate for the cost is in the photos above. We have already paid over 400.00 out of pocket. NuNu is my Dad’s cat. He is 80 with health issues of his own. He is a veteran and was self employed most of his life. Photo of Chico Calderon

Chico Calderon

Chico Calderon is a 11-year-old Beagle in Daytona Beach, FL, who needs $1,283 for Surgery for unknown mass growth.

Daytona Beach, FL

I've had my dog Chico for about 11 years. I got him as a rescue from the News Smyrna Beach Humane Society. I got him after my other dog passed. I live alone with him. He is a very special and living dog. He is always following me around and doesn't like me leaving him for too long. He is a very happy and spoiled dog. My dog sleeps with me in the bed. I have to lift him up to put him on the bed. My dog is very expressive with his eyes. Lately, he has been sleeping a lot and not being himself due to the mass growing on his chest. It bothers him and his been picking at it. I can tell that he is very uncomfortable and it's very heart breaking to be a witness. I feel very hopeless. I am asking for any pet lovers assistance as this dog means everything to me. It's heartbreaking for me to see him in pain and not knowing what this mass on his chest is. They did blood work but just said that they need to do biopsy or just remove it. I lost my business. I took my dog to the vet and l paid for his shots and he had fungus condition on his feet which he was treated for with medications as well as special products for his skin. But, the main thing that he needs immediate attention, is this mass that's growing on his chest. It's really concerning to me because he seems to be in pain from it. My dog Chico has a few toys that he likes. He has rubber dog and pork chop that he use to love playing with. Now, he seems very depressed. I don't have any other pets because my dog Chico was not properly socialized with other animals, so, it's probably why he was given up to a rescue center, but he's an awesome people dog. He think he is human.

Tarzana, CA • Sweet Angel Dog Rescue

Meet Rosie! 🐾 This sweet girl was rescued just in time from being euthanized at Baldwin Park Animal Care Center. Since then, she’s blossomed in the care of some amazing foster homes, showing just how loving and resilient she truly is. Rosie now has a forever home lined up—she just needs a little help getting her medical care up to date so she can start her next chapter happy and healthy. Rosie has a few lumps and bumps that need to be removed, and some may be cancerous—biopsies are needed to know for sure. She also has an impacted tooth that could be causing her pain. Aside from these concerns, Rosie is in great health, and we want to make sure she has the longest, happiest life possible. She’s currently receiving care at Beverly Oaks Animal Hospital. Rosie is an absolute sweetheart with a heart of gold. She’s gentle, affectionate, and endlessly loving—a true companion through and through. Rosie gets along wonderfully with all animals and has a calm, wise spirit that makes her easy to adore.
