I'd like to introduce my baby, Cloe. She is my 13yr old Chihuahua x Pitbull mix. She has been my BEST FRIEND since I was 8 years old, when she came to me as a birthday present! This year, I turn 21 and Cloe still has the energy of a puppy! However, as of late, my little Cloe has been experiencing some very concerning health issues... Painful mammary growths, heart murmur, and potentially cancer. Cloe experiences frequent, painful inflammation of her mammary glands, is diagnosed with a heart murmur, and we were recently informed that it is likely that she has cancer. She has been receiving treatments at Brighton Park Animal Hospital in Chicago. Ever since I was 8 years old, Cloe has been my rock. Anytime that I am going though a hard time, she is able to sense it, and without fail, runs over to console me. This little dog has the biggest heart of gold. She proves that age is just a number, because she has always held onto that bright "puppy" spark. She enjoys LONG naps and playing fetch (just not retrieving what she chases haha). As a new adult and first generation college student, I am stuck in financial hardship between affording the care needed to relieve Cloe from her pain and completing tuition payments for school. In the end, my dream is to give Cloe the painless, comfortable life she deserves.

We adopted Leorio from The Humane Society at 2 months old at the end of 2020. We had always wanted a dog and with everyone shut in for Covid it seemed like a great time to get one. About a month ago Leo began eating less of his food. He started drooling and began this new licking habit. This started us down a path for answers as Leo got worse over the weeks, pooping blood and going days without food or water. He rests most of the day and no longer plays with his toys. Over $1K has been spent yet we still don't know what's wrong with him. Leo is our baby. He is a sweet dog that loves belly rubs and attention. Even now he enjoys a nice walk outside and cuddling under a blanket. Leo is a velcro dog and follows us around most of the time. Our extended family adores him also, maybe not so much the men. His anxiety is really bad because he is scared of everything. I left My job in April of last year and things have been difficult at times. I am on a tight budget to say the least and I simply don't have the funds to continually pay for different hypothesis. I have spent what I can and will continue to do so.

Hi, meet Bourbon, our adorable 3-month-old German Shepherd puppy. Recently diagnosed with megaesophagus, Bourbon has already made an indelible mark on our family. We brought him home as a Valentine’s Day gift for our 2.5-year-old daughter, who is absolutely captivated by Paw Patrol and animals. The bond they share is truly heartwarming and a testament to the beauty of unconditional love. Since his arrival, Bourbon has faced significant health challenges, including vomiting, diarrhea, labored breathing, and a concerning gurgling sound. His initial diagnostic tests—X-rays and a barium swallow study—raised alarms about Persistent Right Aortic Arch (PRAA) and megaesophagus. Partnering with Safe Haven Wexford, we are now focused on addressing his conditions, particularly megaesophagus We chose a German Shepherd for their extraordinary loyalty and remarkable intelligence, making a wonderful companion for our daughter to grow up and enjoy for many years. They are best friends who love playing ball, doing tricks, and running alongside of each other. He is a good ol boy and very sweet despite his health issues. He brings our home laughter and joy beyond measure. Ongoing appointments, tests and care are costly with no clear end. Despite our single income home, we are dedicated to his care. My Sascha is an 11 year old German Shepherd and my best friend. She is always by my side and very protective. She even protects my backyard chickens! She lives with myself and other siblings...her one year old brother Gunner and her two cat sisters Peach and Noelle. Sascha just loves everyone and is such a good girl. Sascha has always been fairly healthy with minimal injuries and illnesses. As she has aged, however, she is facing a few health issues. She has a massive mammary mass on her belly that needs attention. She will need surgery that her mommy doesn't have funds to cover the cost of removal. Sascha has always been friendly with her humans and their friends and family. She has always been a sweetheart to her dog and cat siblings. She is so protective and loving of all those who care for her and I want to be able to return that love to her! Our family has minimal funds after paying for the needs of everyone. I am only a school bus driver working part time with a disabled adult daughter at home with her own health issues. There is a lot going on in our life that this has become a financial worry for our Sascha.

About Maui Humane Society Founded in 1953, Maui Humane Society (MHS) is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to animal welfare on Maui. Each year, we provide shelter, medical care, and adoption services for thousands of animals. Our mission is to protect and save the lives of Maui’s animals, accepting all in need, educating the community, and inspiring respect and compassion towards all animals. Why 4EverPets Matters The 4EverPets program is a crucial community resource for individuals on Maui facing financial hardship. It helps our ohana keep their dogs and other pets in loving homes rather than surrendering them to the shelter. Through the program, we offer: - Medical Care: Comprehensive veterinary services, including routine check-ups, low or no-cost spay/neuter appointments, vaccinations, and flea medicine. - Nutritional Support: Monthly supply of age-appropriate food for dogs and other pets. - Containment Supplies: Crates, kennels, collars, and leashes to keep pets safe. - Enrichment Supplies: Toys, scratching posts, interactive feeders, and more to enhance the mental and physical stimulation of dogs and other pets. - Relocation Support: Assistance with relocating pets, including travel advice, health certificates, vaccines, and travel kennels. **** Your Impact Since its inception in 2020, 4EverPets has distributed over 1.2 million pounds of food as well as 30,000+ non-food items, including crates, leashes, toys, and more. Satie has been my dog since she was a little puppy. I was 14 years old when my family got Satie, she has been my companion for the past 11 years and it’s part of my family. Satie has some mammary tumors that are growing and must be removed to prevent complications. The surgery itself to get these tumors removed is around $3,300.00 dollars. Satie is an adventurer who loves the outdoors, she’s an active dog that loves to go on walks, camping, hiking, and loves to play fetch. She also loves to be pet. Satie’s surgery is a sudden major expense. We are hoping to get some funds to cover for part of the surgery, it will mean the world to our family to be able to help Satie live a few more years!

Ruby is a 7-year-old Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier in Surrey, BC, who needs $2,000 for Percutaneous Transvenous Coil Embolism.

Ruby has had our hearts for 7 years. When we found out she had been born on my beloved Grandma’s birthday I knew she was meant to be ours. She came to us at 8 weeks old and has made our lives better every day since. Ruby’s favourite person in the world is her Grandma Betty who in Ruby’s opinion lives too far away (about 10 blocks). She does enjoy living with her 3 human brothers, mom (me) and dad. She has the bestest neighbours who up until she got sick supplied her with the most delicious wild salmon treats. Her best buddy Baxter, a Boxer/Lab cross conveniently lives right next door. Ruby loves stuffies. She has a collection. Her favourites are from IKEA. They are just the right plumpness and softness. Piggy, Puppy 1, Puppy 2, Bunny, Donkey and Panda all take turns bring her bedtime companion. She chooses one, brings it to bed and proceeds to suck on it while she soothes herself to sleep. Ruby has a rare liver defect called an Intrahepatic Portalsystemic Shunt (IHPSS). Unbeknownst to us she was born with it. It was diagnosed after 4 weeks of investigation which included 2 stays in 2 different hospitals, many blood/urine tests, ultrasounds, X-rays, and a CT scan. We have used our emergency fund to pay the $15,000 CND vet bills which were necessary to treat her immediate needs as well as to get to the point where we now have a diagnosis and plan for treatment. The treatment is surgery which will cost approximately 20,000 CND.
