My name is Susan Martin. I live in Oklahoma City with my 80 year old mother and 20 year old daughter. We own the most wonderful dog that has rescued our family with nothing but unconditional love. He is very loyal and loving. Saber was found at the local animal shelter by my daughter. As soon as she saw him she fell in love. Saber has become ill. Injured I think somehow. We are here every day all day with Saber. He began to limp some time ago and the limping has gotten worse over time. He doesn't move, doesn't get up due to the pain in his hip. The pain is so bad he is drooling/ salivating. As a result he has lost his appetite and has difficulty eating. We have to bring his food to him, feeding him as he lay. I am a single mother taking care of my elderly mother as well. She requires 24 hour care which makes it difficult for me to work full time. To make extra money I Doordash and Uber. That way I can work at my own time and pace as needed around her schedule and needs. The issue we are having is a financial one. I agree that having a dog is a huge responsibility and can incur costs that are not expected for sure. But the cost of a surgery is something none of us thought of or prepared for. The doctor at the clinic said it would be around $3000 for the surgery. That amount of money is so out of our ability we don't know what to do at this point. Saber has a favorite friend name Kali, my daughter. Where she goes so does Saber. He entered our lives at just the right time to begin the healing process we all needed. He is the healing for us brought by an angel. He was meant for our family and I cant see myself living without him in our lives.

I adopted my little Min Poodle/Bichon Frise from our local humane society. She was dropped off at the shelter 1 hour before I arrived. When I saw her nose poking through the cage bars, I just knew I had to adopt her! I was absolutely head over heals for her! I found out her owner passed away while filling out the application to adopt. Her name was ZsaZsa but to me she looked like a Macie Macie is 9 yrs old. She gets along great with everyone, Including my daughters pit mix, my mom’s schnauzer and the cats. She absolutely loves my great grandchildren. Because Macie is older, she really doesn’t play. I haven’t understood why yet though. She gets super excited at mealtimes, Loves to go outside for a little bit as she doesn’t tolerate heat well at all. I’m on SSI. My income is small. I’m saving up for Macie to have a wheelchair because she has a pinched nerve in her spine and by late afternoon to early evening, she will no longer walk and scoots on her bottom. I really need the help for her tests and surgery. Macie may have Cushing’s & needs an 8 hr for it. She has hair loss, excessive panting, always thirsty, reduced activity (could be why she doesn’t play) & just recently treated for an upper respiratory infection. She also has tumors in her abdomen that need to be removed and sent off to the lab. Dr Rob Comanescu is her veterinarian at River Raisin Vet Clinic in Monroe, Michigan. I’ll never forget when I heard Macie’s first bark. It was almost like a chirp. She can be a bit bossy when she wants me to pick her up. It’s quite funny, because I love to hear her bark and be sassy. She’s so adorable while she’s making her bed with her puppy cover, pulling it with her teeth and fluffing it with her paws.

Kobe joined our happy little family six years ago when his first family moved away without him. The timing was perfect as my husband, Paul, was retiring his service dog, Rosie, and needed a replacement. This bright and eager boy stepped up to the challenge without hesitation and picked up on the training with ease. Kobe is the middle child of the family and the oldest boy. During the day he watches over Paul and helps him go about his day. When off the clock, Kobe likes to snooze in the sun with his 14 yo Smooth Collie mix sister, Rosie, and wrestle with his new baby brother, 1 yo German Shepherd Max. We often call Kobe "The Shadow" as he's nearly silent when he moves, which helps him sneak attack lil bro! Unfortunately, as my husband is a disabled veteran and I've had to quit my job in order to care for him, our income is limited and we simply can't afford the operation. We wish to ease Kobe of his pain and discomfort and the only alternative is to put him to sleep:( Dr. May of Hope Vet Specialists confirmed an earlier diagnosis that Kobe was developing Geriatric Onset Laryngeal Paralysis and polyneuropathy, a neuromuscular disease that can weaken the hind legs and larynx in older dogs. Milder cases can be treated with medicine but in extreme cases like this, corrective surgery becomes necessary. If left untreated, the poor dog can die by asphyxiation. Our loving boy has always been sweet, gentle, and protective of his family. When his older sister, Olivia, passed last Spring poor Rosie was heartbroken as the two practically grew up together. Kobe has paid extra attention to Rosie in the months that followed and now the pair seem to share an even closer bond than before.

Bella stole my heart. I could not abandon her in her situation. She is such a sweet soul. Unfortunately, the family she had did not provide a safe environment for her. She spent much of the time being rough handled by a young toddler and an aggressive teenager. The adults were going to return her to a shelter in Houston. No dog deserves to be euthanized. She will always be my family. Bella is a living teddy bear. She sleeps in the bed with us. She always goes with us everywhere. She is so outgoing with people. Because she opened our hearts up, we now have 5 rescues in the house. She is the queen of the house and bosses all the other 4 dogs around. (Border Collie, Labrador, Jack Russell, and Louisiana Hunting dog, all mixed.), but she loves them so much. I know everyone is under financial difficulties so thank you for looking. We went to a one income family, the last 3 rescues happened during the pandemic. I have kept up with all medical expenses, but with Bella's unexpected medical condition I am in need of help. Bella's condition is affecting her eating habits. She is only about 9 pounds, but lately seems to whine as if in pain and eats very little. Her veterinarian is Bonnie Carter at Manor Veterinary Hospital. We took Bella in for her Spaying and found out she has 3 baby teeth that were never lost. So they are causing her pain and need to be removed. She has a very loving heart. Bella's love continues for all in the house. She likes to cuddle up and sleep with the bigger dogs. Except when she's on the King size bed. Then she will take up the middle pillow between my wife and me. She will let my wife know that she's daddy's girl and cuddle up with me.

Blacky came into our lives in November 2023 after being abandoned by a family that left the country. He was just a baby, and he became my children’s Christmas gift — but to my 15-year-old daughter, and my disabled son he became much more. He is her/his emotional support, her/his companion, her/his “son,” her/his light. A few months later, we rescued another dog named Nyna. (Sis) 💔 His Injuries Are Severe Blacky has deep injuries on his chest, his back both hind legs,his genital areamultiple abscesses all over his body Blacky was brutally attacked after escaping through our fence, leaving him with deep wounds on his chest, back, legs, and genital area, along with multiple abscesses. His injuries have opened, the infection is spreading, and he is deteriorating 🙁 Blacky is playful and curious, but also the quietest dog—you had to look at him when barking he sounds like a puppy, the sweetest thing. He was abused and abandoned before finding real love in our big family of 8. His bond with Kayden (12)/ Paola (15)was different, healing, and deep. And with Nyna, he wasn’t just a friend. she became his sister they always together playing around everything toge. She has been seen by three different vets. She's has gone to Perris valley vetinarian, Redlands Emergency vet, and VCA medical center. Where do I begin? Leena is the most vocal, sweet, caring, playful, and overall adventurous kitten I've been privileged to care for. Shenloves to play with her brother Milo and both my kids. When I go to work she looks for me and crys. As well as when I come home she looks for me and starts crying but the moment she sees me she gets happy and starts to purr. I have seen 3 different vets as well as a specialist. I have insurance for her but the insurance doesn't cover her medical needs. I don't want to give up on her because it wasn't her fault to be brought to this world with this condition

Coco came into my life from my dad, as part of a litter of kittens. She was the runt, and I’ve had her for 12 years now. I named her Coco because as a kitten she had a brownish, cocoa bean–like coat. She lives with me and my dog, Penny, and the two of them get along wonderfully, like best friends. Coco suddenly became very sick and was diagnosed with feline panleukopenia (FVP), a dangerous illness for both young and older cats. She is currently hospitalized at Standiford Veterinary Center in Modesto, under the care of Dr. Martha Afifi, DVM. She’s receiving IV fluids, antibiotics, and 24-hour care to give her the best chance of recovery. Coco is always by my side. She greets me at the door with a meow every time I come home, follows me around the house, and eats her meals next to me at the table. She is loved by my grandparents, too—she curls up with my grandpa when I’m away. Coco has been my comfort and emotional support through hard times, always bringing joy and love. I'm 20 and working part-time, and I'm already struggling after a recent car accident left me with unexpected expenses. Now, Coco's sudden illness and hospitalization is more than I can manage alone. Having support to continue her treatment would mean the world to me.
