Beans

Beans is a 6 year old American Shorthair in Anaheim, CA, who needs $8,000 for Removal of Mass and Amputation and Possible Chemo.

Anaheim, CA

Beans came into our lives as a kitten, along with his brother Buttons from the same litter, after we rescued them on a very hot day in May 2020. They have been inseparable ever since. Beans is the sweetest, most affectionate cat who loves cuddles and being close to his family. Buttons and his blind dog sister love him dearly and would miss him deeply. Beans was diagnosed with a vaccine-associated sarcoma, a cancerous tumor that developed at a previous injection site and is receiving care through his veterinary oncology team at Veterinary Surgical Specialists in Tustin. His treatment requires amputation of the affected area, with possible chemotherapy afterward. Beans is family, and we are fighting to give him more time with the ones who love hi Beans is truly one of a kind. He loves greeting us every morning, rubbing against us when we come out of the shower, and having conversations with his many vocal meows. He is incredibly sweet, loving, and affectionate. Beans has a gentle soul and brings so much happiness, comfort, and love into our home every single day. We are living paycheck to paycheck and have managed to secure a portion of Beans’ surgery costs, but we still need help covering the remaining amount. Having Beans healthy again would mean everything to our family. He is deeply loved, and we want to give him every chance to

Saved From the Kill Pen, Piper Is Finally Safe. Now She Needs a Fresh Start

greenville, NC • Winter's Grace Animal Rescue

Piper's future was hanging by a thread. At an estimated 8 to 10 years old, this gentle miniature horse found herself in a kill pen, where her life could have ended at any moment. Instead of spending her golden years surrounded by love and care, Piper was facing an uncertain fate through no fault of her own. Thankfully, Winter's Grace Animal Rescue stepped in just in time. Now safe from the slaughter pipeline, Piper is beginning the next chapter of her life—but her journey to recovery is just getting started. When Piper arrived at the rescue, it was clear she had been neglected. She is underweight and needs comprehensive veterinary care to help restore her health. Before she can truly begin to thrive, Piper will undergo a complete medical evaluation, receive her core vaccinations, have her teeth floated to make eating more comfortable, receive a Coggins test, and be treated for any medical conditions discovered during her examination, including possible upper respiratory issues or other illnesses that may have gone untreated. For horses like Piper, routine veterinary care isn't a luxury—it's the foundation for a healthy future. Years of neglect can leave hidden medical issues that only a veterinarian can identify and treat. With proper nutrition, medical care, and plenty of love, Piper has every opportunity to regain her strength and enjoy the peaceful life she deserves. Winter's Grace Animal Rescue gave Piper the second chance she so desperately needed. Now they're asking for your help to give her the care she deserves. Your tax-deductible donation will help cover Piper's veterinary examination, vaccinations, dental care, Coggins testing, diagnostics, medications, and any treatment she needs as she begins her recovery. Every gift, no matter the size, brings Piper one step closer to good health and the safe, comfortable future she's been waiting for. Piper escaped the kill pen. Together, we can make sure the rest of her story is filled with kindness, healing, and hope. If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing Piper's story. Your support could help give this deserving girl the fresh start she's fought so hard to receive.

Pulled From the Euthanasia List, Teddy Is Fighting for His Life

Boca Raton, FL • Jess Helping Furrbabies

Just two years old, Teddy should have had his whole life ahead of him. Instead, he found himself on the county shelter's euthanasia list after becoming critically ill. His owners reported that he had accidentally ingested an unknown chemical and, after seeking initial veterinary care, were unable to afford the extensive treatment he desperately needed. With nowhere else to turn and his medical condition worsening, Teddy's future looked heartbreakingly bleak. That's when Jess Helping Furbabies stepped in. Refusing to let Teddy's story end there, the rescue pulled him from the shelter and rushed him for emergency veterinary care. While Teddy is finally safe, his fight is only beginning. Initial bloodwork revealed several alarming abnormalities, including an elevated white blood cell count, low blood glucose, and elevated kidney values, all signs that his body is battling something serious. He remains weak, depressed, and has very little interest in food. His veterinary team has ordered extensive diagnostic testing to determine exactly how much damage the unknown chemical may have caused and what treatment he needs moving forward. Teddy's caregivers are doing everything they can to encourage him to eat. So far, he's only managed a few tiny bites of food. He nibbled on a piece of chicken nugget, but not even enough to finish one. He'll take a short walk outside, but the little energy he has quickly disappears. Once back inside, he quietly returns to his bed, getting up only when absolutely necessary. His heart rate also remains dangerously low, and his veterinarians are closely monitoring him while they await the results of more advanced bloodwork that will help guide the next phase of his treatment. Despite how sick he feels, Teddy's sweet personality is still shining through. He even managed to wag his tail—a small but beautiful reminder that he's still fighting. No dog should come this close to losing their life simply because they need medical care. Jess Helping Furbabies gave Teddy the second chance he deserved, but emergency diagnostics, hospitalization, medications, supportive care, and ongoing treatment come at a significant cost. Your tax-deductible donation today will help provide the lifesaving care Teddy urgently needs. Every gift helps cover advanced diagnostics, hospitalization, medications, supportive treatment, and the continued monitoring his condition requires as veterinarians work to give him the best possible chance at recovery. Teddy is safe now. He's loved. And with your help, he can keep fighting. If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing Teddy's story. Your kindness could help save his life.

Blueberry

Blueberry's Leg Was Torn Off in a Lawn Mower Accident. Help Save His Life.

WHITESTONE, NY • NYC Second Chance Rescue

One moment changed Blueberry's life forever. This sweet dog suffered unimaginable injuries after a horrific lawn mower accident ripped off part of his leg, leaving him with a catastrophic wound and in unimaginable pain. By the time rescuers learned about him, half of his leg was already gone. No animal should ever have to endure this kind of trauma. When NYC Second Chance Rescue received the urgent plea for help from Alabama, there wasn't a second to waste. The rescue immediately stepped in, arranging emergency veterinary care and rushing Blueberry to the hospital, where a team of veterinarians began evaluating the full extent of his injuries. Blueberry needed an emergency amputation. Without hesitation, the rescue agreed to let surgeons quickly remove what remained of his severely damaged leg. The surgery was successful, and Blueberry is now beginning the difficult road to recovery. While the worst of the trauma is behind him, his journey is far from over. Blueberry is receiving intensive pain management, antibiotics, wound care, and around-the-clock monitoring as he recovers from major surgery. He'll need follow-up veterinary visits, medications, bandage care, and plenty of time to heal before he can begin adjusting to life as a three-legged dog. Thankfully, dogs are incredibly resilient. Once Blueberry has recovered, there's every reason to believe he can enjoy a happy, active life. But right now, his focus is simply on healing. Emergency medical care is expensive, and every hour of treatment adds to Blueberry's growing veterinary bill. NYC Second Chance Rescue refused to let him suffer alone, but they can't do it without compassionate supporters standing beside them. Your tax-deductible donation today will help cover Blueberry's emergency hospitalization, diagnostics, surgery, pain medication, and recovery care. Every gift, no matter the size, gives this brave dog another step toward healing and the second chance he so desperately deserves. If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing Blueberry's story. Together, we can help turn one of the worst days of his life into the beginning of a brighter future. 8/5/26 Update When Blueberry first arrived at the shelter, we shared the information that had been provided to us: that his leg had been severed in a lawnmower accident. At the time, the shelter that sent us the urgent plea was legally prohibited from disclosing the circumstances surrounding his case because of an active investigation. Now, they are permitted to speak and the truth is horrifying. Blueberry was seized through the court system, and his former owner is facing animal cruelty charges. Investigators do not believe that Blueberry lost his leg in a lawnmower accident. They believe he was intentionally attacked by a human and that his leg was deliberately severed. We know how difficult this is to read. We want our community to understand that we initially shared the only information legally available to us. Investigations like this cannot be compromised, because justice and ensuring that animal abusers are held accountable must remain the priority. Because of your support, we were able to provide Blueberry with the critical care he so desperately needed. Surgeons amputated what remained of his badly damaged leg, and he is now receiving the care, safety and compassion he should have had all along. We are outraged. We are devastated. But above all, we are committed to standing beside Blueberry as he heals and to fighting for the justice he deserves.
