* Jasper County Humane Society * Tilly came into Animal Control as she was seized from a cruelty case. Although she is just a puppy she has only known a chain her entire life. Even after being abused she is still very loving and affectionate. She was already sick when she came into AC. Jasper County Humane Society pulled her from AC to prevent euthanasia and she was placed into an outdoor kennel with a volunteer foster. Tilly was originally thought to have kennel cough. She was seen at a local veterinarian 2x and antibiotics changed. She still worsened so went to UGA vet hospital for additional workup. It was determined she had pneumonia and was admitted for breathing treatments and IV antibiotics. Tilly adores people! She gets along with other dogs but will gravitate toward people more than other dogs. She loves to snuggle and just wants a home to call her own! She has no aggression towards other dogs, cats are unknown. Jasper County Humane Society tries to help as many animals as possible but vetting and caring for animals is expensive. Her almost $4000 vet bill was unexpected and funds are needed to continue to help her and other cats and dogs.

APX 4 years ago I rescued gidget from the streets. She has been my support furbaby since. I'm on SSD and get limited funds per month. I've been in the hospital myself since March 15th. Just got home after a major throat infection, being tracked 2 times and I aspirated and crashed on March 17th. Gidget was attacked on April 14th her bill is over $4,000 along with my hospital bills. Since she's been my support furbaby for the last 3-4 years she sleeps at my feet every night. she waits on the floor watching until I get settled then she justs up and curls up at my feet. She will eat any that I eat and she waits until it hits the floor before eating. Every once in a while if you leave your plate unattended she will sneak n eat off your plate. If I'm down she knows and will come and sit in my lap gives me kisses and or nudges my hand until I love on her. She always makes me feel better just being gidget. I comb her hair out of her eyes, as soon as I say "now you can see" she shakes her head and up and down in her eyes goes the hair.. I give up! Lol On April 14,(I was still in the hospital) my daughter found gidget on the front porch (she had gotten out the night before and wouldn't come back in), she had been attacked by something, and was in really bad shape. She took her to the animal hospital where she has been until today. I am on SSD so I get limited funds. Rent and MLGW take 2/3rds of my income which leaves very little for my meds and food but we manage but with all the medical bills I just can't do I need help. Please 🙏

She has a fractured pelvis (ilium) and a severe compound fracture to her tibia—injuries that will require two major surgeries. We are hopeful for a full recovery, but her care is estimated to cost around $7,000, not including her spay and routine veterinary needs. But cases like this take a huge toll on our monthly budget—and every dollar spent here means fewer resources for the countless dogs sitting in overcrowded shelters, perfectly healthy but running out of time. Mumu

Mumu is a 7-month-old Pitbull mix in Woodbridge, NJ, who needs $2,000 for urgent surgery.

When Ellena S. first heard a sweet, kind-eyed puppy named Mumu was found as a stray and needed a home, she immediately offered to foster. Then she and her family fell in love with Mumu and adopted him. Soon after, they started noticing Mumu was limping. The more he grew, the less he used one of his legs. Then he started hobbling in pain on just three legs. Their veterinarian took X-rays and discovered one of Mumu's bone growth plates closed prematurely, and without surgery, his leg would get worse. "Without intervention, he could develop an accelerated case of arthritis due to the excessive and uneven pressure on his elbow joint," Ellena tells Waggle. "This could cause future discomfort or pain when he walks or plays." Now Mumu needs expensive orthopedic surgery to relieve the pressure and help him walk without pain. "Mumu has brought endless joy and fun to our family," Ellena says. "When he gets excited, his tail spins in circles like a helicopter that's about to fly him up to give you kisses. It breaks our heart to see him uncomfortable and not enjoying his activities." Please help Mumu have a pain-free 2023!

Amazing Mutts Puppy Rescue took in Frost and her littermates after her owner could not care for them. Then the litter got sick with parvo, a deadly virus. The rescue rushed the puppies to the animal hospital, where they fought for their lives. Sadly all the pups except for Frost died. The rescue spent thousands of dollars trying to save the siblings. "Rescues are almost always in debt because we rescue dogs from terrible situations," Stacy A., with the nonprofit group, tells Waggle. "We owe the animal hospital over $50,000. We are an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue, which is a huge hit." Will you give to help cover Frost's care and in memory of all her siblings who crossed the Rainbow Bridge? "Frost is special because she is a survivor," Stacy adds. "She's going to make an adopter very happy. Frost was saved for a reason. We believe that she will change someone's world. OLI

OLI is a 6-year-old Lab in Carbondale, CO, who needs $2,000 for Radiation.

OLI is named after "Out Living It". Out Living It is program that OLI's dad, Spencer, holds closely to his heart after cancer recovery. OLI was taken into Spencer's arms shortly after being in remission and is the biggest blessing we could ever imagine. Fast forward 6.5 years later, OLI is now diagnosed which adenocarcinoma which is a type of cancer. OLI is Spencer and Colleen's child. He is part of the family and goes where ever his humans may go. Luckily, he gets to go to work everyday with Spencer. When he's not at work, OLI loves to hike mountains, swim in lakes, go to the dog park and play with his friends, and share snacks with his humans. Waking up to OLIs dinosaur-like yawn every morning is our favorite way to wake up. Everything he does is special to us. We look at him and he puts a smile on our face even if he's just sleeping on the couch or out chasing the sprinklers. He is the sweetest boy and knows exactly how your feeling and will make sure you are okay. We have been traveling back and forth 5 hour drives to CSU for the diagnosis and continue treatment for OLIs cancer. We have had to stay at hotels and drive treacherous drives on I70 to save and treat our fur baby. OLI has been having nosebleeds for almost a year now and this will be his third (and luckily FINAL) opinion for diagnosis/ treatment. OLI has a tumor in his nose which is cancerous. This has been an ongoing financial burden for us for the past year of misdiagnoses, traveling all around the state and staying in hotels just to seek appointments, biopsy, CT Scan, further radiation and cancer treatment. Kumo is a 1 year old Chow Chow in Sutton, MA, who needs $2,993 for TPLO Surgery.

I was blessed with Kumo in May of 2025. He joins Luna, my 3 1/2 year old Chow Chow. The 2 became fast friends, Luna, like a mother to Kumo & Kumo, a shadow to Luna. Kumo LOVES water of all kinds: sprinklers, garden hoses, & swimming in lakes (not a typical chow in this regard)! A perfect day for Kumo and Luna includes hiking, swimming, and laying in the shade on the porch! After a walk, Kumo & Luna went sprinting around the back of the house only seconds later to return with Kumo limping (holding his back left leg completely off the ground). After rest and leash walking for a few weeks, with no improvement (non-weight bearing), I learned that Kumo needs cruciate ligament TPLO surgery in order to have use of this leg and to avoid the pain he continues to be in. Kumo loves children of all ages! He gets quite vocal with his "grumbles" when he's excited & wants to play. He is very smart and well behaved and has great recall. He knows kisses & sit in Polish. He and Luna are joined at the hip and he is a total mama's boy. His injury not only breaks my heart as his "mom", but Luna shows concern as well, and isnt quite sure why he can't play like before. In the past few years I have experienced chronic health issues that have created an extreme financial burden. Unfortunately, I am still receiving treatment which makes it difficult to manage my own finances and also Kumo's surgery. It would mean so much to receive some help!

Keru

Keru Fought to Survive. Now He Needs Us to Fight Back.

How long had Keru been living like this? Part of his nose gone, an open wound left to fester, dead tissue and maggots where his face used to be? We may never know exactly how it happened, though the wound suggests something sharp caused it. What we do know is that this street dog suffered far longer than any animal should have to. When Solti's Hope Street Animal Rescue found Keru, he was thin, weak, and in poor body condition. Somehow, though, carrying this devastating injury, he had kept fighting to survive. Keru is now safe in our sanctuary clinic, but his recovery is only beginning. So much skin and tissue have been lost that the wound cannot be closed with sutures. It must heal slowly, in the open, while we fight the infection and give healthy tissue the chance to grow. Every day means careful cleaning, debriding damaged tissue, and closely managing his pain. Keru will always carry scars. He has permanently lost part of his nose, and his face may never look the way it once did. But he is alive, and after everything he has endured, that is nothing short of remarkable. The gentle street dog who was found with part of his nose completely missing, leaving a horrific open wound filled with dead tissue and maggots. It is suspected that his devastating injury may have been deliberately inflicted with a sharp object, though what happened may never be known for certain. Whatever the cause, Keru had been suffering for a very long time before he was finally rescued. It has now been just over one week since Keru came into Soltis Hope Street Animal Rescue's care, and although his wound still looks shocking, it is healing far better than anyone had hoped. The infection is gone. All of the dead, necrotic tissue has been removed, and healthy new tissue is growing beautifully. The wound is now a healthy pink color, showing that Keru's body is finally able to begin healing. Because there wasn't enough healthy skin and tissue remaining, the wound could not be closed with sutures. Its location on his face also makes bandaging impossible, so Keru continues to receive careful wound cleaning, medication, and supportive care several times each day as the area heals naturally. While this is an encouraging step forward, Keru still has a long road ahead. Ongoing treatment and daily medical care remain essential to helping him continue healing comfortably. Your generosity is making this life-saving care possible. 8/8/26 Update: Keru's Sweet Spirit Continues to Shine One of the best parts of Keru's recovery has been watching his personality emerge. Although part of his nose can never grow back, Keru continues to receive daily wound care and monitoring as he heals. CRITICAL: Pup’s face consumed by horrific eroding tumors

When we first laid eyes on Warrior, we honestly thought he had survived some kind of explosion. His face was grotesquely swollen and torn, with deep, hollowed craters carved across his muzzle. It was shocking. Graphic. Almost impossible to process. We prepared ourselves for a single catastrophic injury. But the reality was even more heartbreaking. Warrior’s wounds weren’t caused by one tragic event. His face is covered in multiple tumors—masses that have grown unchecked for far too long. Several have ruptured, leaving raw, open cavities where healthy skin should be. This didn’t happen overnight. This is the result of prolonged, untreated suffering. Tumor after tumor growing, stretching, breaking down—while he somehow continued trying to eat, move, and survive on his own. And no one stepped in. When our team brought Warrior to safety, our veterinary staff immediately began stabilizing him. His open wounds are being gently cleaned and flushed, though every touch causes pain. The ruptured areas are highly vulnerable to infection. We’ve taken samples of the masses and sent them off for testing to determine exactly what we’re facing—and whether these tumors are cancerous. Right now, we don’t have all the answers. But we do know this: Warrior is in pain, and he needs urgent care. In these critical days, he requires intensive wound management, strong pain control, antibiotics if infection sets in, diagnostic testing, and constant monitoring as we wait for results and map out the next steps. He is finally safe—but safety alone won’t heal him. Cases like Warrior’s are overwhelming in every way—emotionally, medically, and financially. The level of treatment he needs is extensive and ongoing, and we simply cannot shoulder it alone. Please, if you are able, consider donating toward Warrior’s emergency care.
