Emmitt

Emmitt was found at a church in Nashville & was taken to Animal Control by a good Samaritan. He had to have been dumped because at that time he had no use of any of his legs & could not support his body weight, which was literal skin and bones. A 911 was sent out for a rescue to pull Emmitt and Bonaparte’s came! He is severely malnourished & sweet as can be and is thankful to have a chance. Emmitt is an approximately 2 yr old Shephard mix that now weighs about 14 ½ lbs and has a long way to go in his recovery. Because of his extreme malnourishment his feeding has to be very regulated but he is doing great with his new fosters and gaining strength every day! He is incredibly thankful to be out of the hospital and in a home where he is definitely being spoiled by his new fosters! Emmitt has a spark and a will to live. If he did not there is no way he would have made it to 2 years old in that condition. You can count almost every rib and more bones than I've ever seen in a dog on his body but his will is so incredibly strong! He is inquisitive in his new foster home and continues to show more personality every day! He has a long road to recovery ahead but he is determined! After being released from 10 days in the care of Nashville Veterinary Specialists Emmitt (which is where the bulk of the bills are from ) and can now be seen by our vet Grassmere Animal Hospital as we navigate getting him healthy. He will also require ongoing physical therapy in addition to the range of motion work his fosters are to doing to help him gain strength in his limbs. Although Emmitt has been discharged from the hospital (where the bills are around $10,000) he will need continued ongoing treatment with physical therapy and regular vet visits as we work through the weight gain & determine medical needs for quite some time in the future.

I adopted Luke 2 1/2 years ago. We’ve been inseparable ever since. Luke and I sleep together. I do not have children but for my girlfriend and myself, he is our baby boy. Luke came to Lenity Vet Specialists in San Mateo, CA following a previous bladder surgery. Sadly Luke had become septic and was on the verge of death. He had an abscess at his surgery site snd numerous stones still in his bladder and urethra. Luke needs life saving care his wonderful family cannot afford. Please help save Luke’s life. Aria is our 10 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi who has been my best friend for nearly her entire life. We live together in Sunnyside, Queens, where she loves our neighborhood dog run and chasing squeaky balls in our apartment courtyard. When she needs a break from city life, she happily visits Grandma's backyard in Connecticut. After finding a lump in Aria's neck and noticing increased panting and coughing, we brought her to Court Square Animal Hospital. She was diagnosed with large cell lymphoma in multiple lymph nodes and a mast cell tumor on her hind leg. We have been referred to The Veterinary Specialty Referral Center of Manhattan for oncology care. Aria still thinks she's a puppy. She lives for squeaky balls and will instantly perk up when she hears one squeak, even after deciding she's done walking like the stubborn corgi she is. Everyone at our local Irish market knows her and gives her turkey after she shows off her favorite tricks. She brings joy wherever she goes. I am a full time nursing student in New York City while working to support myself. Aria's chemotherapy is estimated to cost $15,000 to $20,000, far beyond what I can afford. Any support would give my best friend the chance to fight this cancer and continue her happy life.

Dandy came into my life from a family friend. Their dogs had a litter of dogs and they were trying to find good homes, and I happen to have an open spot. I took him home at 3 months old, and has been at my side for almost 8 years now! He even comes to work with me at the doggy daycare! With Dandy being so active and getting up there in age, it was inevitable that his CCL would he torn. It happened while I was on vacation while in the care with my parents, but I have noticed that his back legs seemed to be getting weaker even before that. My parents took him to MedVet near their house for the initial diagnosis, and then I took him to the MedVet surgical center to get more info. Dandy is so, so spoiled with all the people and dogs that love him! When I bring him into work, the front desk people battle it out who gets to give him treats! My roommate get upset when I bring him with me as I spend the weekend with my parents. If I don't bring him, my parents' and brothers' first words are, "Where's the boy?!" He have so many doggy friends at the daycare I work at too! I literally do not have the money for this surgery. Dandy is an epileptic yet active dog, playing fetch at home and playing with the big dogs at work, that he needs to be back on his feet nice and healthy asap. His seizures gets worse if he does not have enough stimulation.

Anubis came into my life at my lowest point, I was freshly Medically discharged after 5 years in the military. My best friend had some puppies and reached out to me when he was just 12 weeks old. I didn't hesitate. He has been with me so far for 7 amazing years. I just got him a companion last year and they absolutely love each other. He finally just got a yard he can play in! About a month ago, Anubis started randomly screaming in pain. I rushed home and took him to a Fetch Emergency clinic to get X rays. They gave me a treatment plan that I followed and said they believed he had IVDD ( They can't give me an answer without an MRI). He was taking Methocarbamol, Gabapentin, as well as Prednisone. 2 Nights ago He started screaming again. He needs an MRI,I need him better. Anubis is special for the same reason anyone's child is special. He has always been my reason to keep pushing. He is amazing with kids, other dogs and cats ( His partner Freyja especially). He is truly the most gentle feeder ( He uses his two front teeth to lightly grab them when offered) He is gentle with my Quadriplegic Older brother, and he is the first to cuddle on a bad day. He is so happy. I need help paying for an MRI. All of the vets i spoke with have stated that its around $5,000 because of size and Anesthesia Required. I maxed out my care credit for his Xrays and paid another 1500 out of pocket. I need him better. I cannot imagine my life without him.

Marlanena K.'s husband rescued Madison out of the back of a convertible. He brought her home, and the entire family fell in love with the pup. Then Marlanena's husband was in a terrible accident that left him in a coma for almost a month! Thankfully he finally came out of the coma, but he will be disabled for the rest of his life. Madison has been crucial to their family during this time and has never left his side. Recently the family noticed a tiny growth on Madison's gums. They brought her to the veterinarian, who diagnosed it as a tumor. The family is heartbroken, worrying it might be cancer. The first step is removing the growth, a surgery they can't afford. "I work part-time because I help care for my husband," Marlanena tells Waggle. "We live on a strict budget. We love Madison and would give all we have to make sure she is happy and healthy." Noelani came in to my life 9 years ago when she was 8 weeks old. Her gotcha date will be in 2 weeks actually. She has cat brothers and sisters that she treated like her own babies when we got them. She also had 2 puppies she had 7 years ago That she plays with every day in our yard. She is the light to our household and a parent to any baby animal we’ve ever brought home. Noelani is hospitalized at Fetch Veterinary Hospital with severe immune-mediated thrombocytopenia (suspected IMTP/Evans syndrome). She has critically low platelets causing ongoing GI and urinary bleeding and anemia, requiring multiple blood transfusions and intensive monitoring while awaiting platelet recovery. She also had blood pooling into her eyes from lack of platelets. Noelani is a motherly and loving dog. She LOVES attention and talking to everyone she can. She is so smart we think she is human sometimes. She gets along so well with her cat siblings that she herself thinks she’s a cat! She loafs and insists on small bites food. She lights up a room with her bright blue eyes and big smile. She is a big sweetheart who is so gentle, even when playing “rough” We took out a small loan, but I just got hit a few months back and they totaled my car. So I had to buy another and it hit hard and I’m not approved for any more loans. I cashed in my 401k from a previous job to try to pay for her treatment. I work 2 jobs already.

Maple came from an abusive background and came into our lives from a Craigslist ad. I picked her up in Baltimore City and she was scared to death. She has worked really hard to overcome the traumas she endured, and still struggles meeting new people, especially men. I'll never know what she went through, but I want to be sure she's safe and comfortable at home. Maple is being seen at Jarrettsville vet for pyometra and will require surgery. Her symptoms came in within 3 days. Day 1 drinking a lot. Day 2 accidents, so we suspected UTI. End of the night we noticed some blood and thought she started heat. Day 3 she was leaking bloody mucus and lethargic. Maple is my heart. She was the dog we rescued after our 11 year old passed a year prior. She is my little shadow and has learned so much about gaining self confidence. This girl wouldn't even take a treat when we first got her. She is now a cuddle bug that won't leave mom's side. I am currently on workers comp and looking for something else to gain productive employment that I'm physically capable of doing. I'm willing to volunteer as well.

I'm a lone mother who just left an abusive relationship which required me to relocate with my young daughter 4,000 miles. During the past year I lost my seizure alert dog of 8 years, and in January, had a grand Mal seizure. My neurologist helped me find a seizure dog prospect, and all of the training and work of his young 5 months has been going well, but costly. Nike is a member of our family. He has integrated well into our community, has bonded closely to me, is already showing signs of being a potential seizure alert dog, not just seizure response. Until now he was very healthy, and he's still a very happy boy, just in so much pain, and this will only get worse daily. I am a lone parent, so no support. Starting over after an extremely abusive relationship with epilepsy, each seizure being life threatening. Having him healthy will help one aspect of my life so I can be here for my 3 year old daughter. I am the only family she has. Treating veterinarian is Companion's Choice Animal Choice Animal Hospital (ccah.com), and he needs surgery ASAP at Kansas State University. Surgery estimate is 2500, to put pins in his rear leg bc his bone is growing further apart from his growth plate everyday. While he remains happy, he is in a LOT of pain. Unfortunately, service dogs are not cheap, and I just don't have the funds for surgery. He's a big goofball, and in typical Berner puppy fashion, growing so fast he is the clumsiest doggo around. Nike is already in tune with my moods and is great about keeping tabs on me, and my young daughter. He's the perfect Berner, friendly but aloof around strangers, and not much rattles him, making him a great service dog. He is medically necessary per my neurologist.
