Maverick

Maverick is a 12 year old Siberian Husky in Sarasota , FL, who needs $2,000 for Thyroidectomy.

Sarasota, FL

Help Maverick Get the Life-Saving Surgery He Needs. My name is Richeal, and this is my best friend, Maverick—a sweet, loyal 12-year-old Siberian Husky who has been by my side through so many seasons of life. Maverick isn’t just my dog; he’s my family, my comfort, and my constant companion. He’s greeted me every morning with a wagging tail, cuddled next to me through hard days, and my twins girls. Recently, our world turned upside down when Maverick was diagnosed with a tumor on his thyroid. After multiple tests and consultations, his veterinarian, Dr. Siu at EPIC Veterinary Care, explained that surgery is the only chance Maverick has for a healthy, pain-free future. The good news is that this surgery could give Maverick several more happy years. The hard part is the cost of the surgery. Maverick is a gentle, loyal 12-year-old Husky with a heart as big as his paws. He’s the first to greet us each morning with tail wags and the last to settle in at night, curled by our side. He adores kids, loves his walks, and finds joy in simple things—like sunny spots and belly rubs. Maverick isn’t just a pet; he’s family, our constant source of comfort and unconditional love. I’m a single mom supporting my family on a single income, and my job is commission-based, which makes unexpected expenses like Maverick’s surgery overwhelming. He’s been our loyal companion for 12 years, and I’m doing everything I can to give him the care he needs.

Paris is a 4 year old French Bulldog in The Dalles, OR, who needs $2,000 for Stenotic Nares Surgery and Colonoscopy.

The Dalles, OR

Paris came to me from a family member who is also a French bulldog breeder. They paid $10,000 for her including having her shipped from Serbia she was 2 when I got her. Bear

Bear is a 9 year old Labrador Retriever in Bloomington, IN, who needs $2,000 for Sarcoma Removal Surgery.

Bloomington, IN

I met Bear at the shelter while searching for a PTSD service/therapy dog. He was a living, breathing hug on four legs from the moment we met. We've been inseparable for 8 years now. He was my partner in crime on campus while I worked towards my B.A. He gave me the courage to move the two of us across the country to pursue my dreams. He's supported me through my own cancer diagnosis as well. Bear suddenly developed lumps around his right hock joint on August 21st. His vet performed a fine needle aspirate and confirmed they were malignant sarcomas during an urgent care visit. He was referred to an oncologist at Purdue University's Small Animal Hospital, and his consultation is on September 10th. He urgently needs surgery to remove the tumors around his hock joint. Bear loves to spend his days squirrel and people watching, cuddling with his human, and redecorating the house with beloved toy stuffing. His snores shake the house every night, his endlessly happy tail wags have toppled side tables, and his favorite part of the day is brushing "his teefies" with his chicken toothpaste. Everyone who knows him has said he's the happiest, kindest boy they've met. I'm unable to work due to extensive medical treatment for my own cancer diagnosis and chronic immune disorders. Bear is my everything. He supported me for every surgery and radiation treatment, so now I'm rallying to give my precious boy the care he desperately needs.

Jethro Bodine

Jethro Bodine is a 8 year old Mix-Breed in irving , TX, who needs $2,000 for Right Achilles Tendon-Muscle Junction Repair.

irving, TX

I adopted Bodine at 2.5 years from the dallas animal shelter, we have lived together with his sister daisy since then, he is almost 9. I am pregnant with my first kid and he was really excited to be big brother and play around and have fun with my baby. He is such a good brother to his canine sister, and is always there for her. He loved to run and play, fetch and tug of way are his favorite. I took bodine to the dallas veterinary hospital of dallas, they told me he tore and ruptured his achilles up to the muscle of his thigh. he is still so young at heart and i hate to see him limping around and only using 3 legs. though he doesn’t act like he’s in pain, I know how much it must hurt. All I want is to see him play again, not in pain. Surgery is scary but seems like the best option. He is the sweetest boy. Even at the vets they say how calm and happy he is just to be there. He sits and watches mommy with whatever she’s doing. He’s so happy just to be around you. His cuddles are the best. I waited forever for him to be able to have a yard to play in, and now that he’s about to have it, he cannot play as he should be able to:(. This dog means the world to me. I am working a lot less now that I am 5 months pregnant, and it’ll only go downhill from here. I’m very worrisome that’s I cannot get him the surgery as it will be a struggle financially, especially as a first time expecting mom. I would do anything for him.

Sunny

Sunny is a 12 year old German Shepherd Dog in Manalapan, , who needs $1,200 for Tumor Removal.

Manalapan

Sunny is a rescue that joined our family about 12 years ago. Her full name, Sunset, was chosen because of her beautiful sunset-like fur, but we like to call her Sunny for short. She is an integral member of our family who has been with us through thick and thin. We have had other pets, alongside her, but they have unfortunately passed away, which leaves her as our only one at this moment in time. Recently, we had taken her to the Central Monmouth Animal Hospital in New Jersey, because of a lump that appeared on her right hind leg. They performed a biopsy that confirmed that it was a cancerous tumor. They do not know what type of cancer it is without removing and testing it. However, this surgery will help to rid us of the main source of the problem and improve Sunny's quality of life. Sunny steals the hearts of everyone who meets her. Funnily enough, she was listed as a rescue after failing police training, due to her very friendly nature. Her hobbies include playing soccer and cooling off in her appropriately sized pool. While she may be 12 years old and considered a senior-aged dog, she is very much a puppy at heart, through and through. Our need for help comes from being a lower-income family that is struggling to make ends meet. My husband passed away over five years ago, I am working multiple jobs, and my daughter is trying very hard to pay off her tuition. This surprise expense puts further strain on us.

Capo

Capo is a 4 year old Mix-Breed in cherry hill, NJ, who needs $2,000 for Limb Amputation.

cherry hill, NJ

I found Capo in November of 2021 in Philly. I called him over and he jumped in my arms. He was dirty, skinny where I could see his ribs, had fleas and was hungry. I attempted to find his owner & when I took him to the vet he was chipped & his owner said she wanted him back but never contacted me. She said she thought he got ran over or stolen & that was it. No love lost. I'd be an absolute mess! He has stage 2 Sarcoma Cancer in his left leg. He can no longer bend or move his leg, it just hangs there. He can't walk up or down the steps on his own & can't take long walks like he loves. His leg drags on the ground when he goes for a walk and is tired. It is now a hinder to him & sorta in his way. He doesn't have cancer in his chest which is great so if we remove his leg he will live. Capo is my 2nd dog. He has a sister who is a yorkiepoo. He is sucha loveable & happy dog. He always wants to cuddle & is very protective of his family, especially my niece, whose his bestie. She can't wait to see him when she comes over & now with his leg it's hard for my niece to play with him like she used to. He is very strong-willed and determined. He is still young & has the will to live. I just started working a part time job. I had a close family member pass recently & had some medical issues I needed to take care of. My dogs are my children. I don't know what me or my other dog would do without Capo. It would affect us all drastically, especially my niece.
