I found someone selling boxer puppies 9 weeks old near the house I just purchased for $500 or b/o each. I offered $800 for both and put down a $300 deposit. I was told they were given their shots. The man selling seemed nice enough. I picked them up a week later and brought them home where I had purchased a crate, bedding, etc. and set them up to be part of my new family. Clyde and Cleo have a crate inside my house w/ dog door to outside pen. When I am home, I have started training them and they follow me everywhere. I grew up w/ boxers so I was excited to have my own. They are not dogs to me, they are my family and I love them with all my heart. I have 2 roommates and we are all dog lovers. Brought them to vet for checkup and they had a parasite, so treated. These puppies are special to me because I am stationed 3000 miles away from my family, am only 21, just bought my first house after ranking up and being eligible for housing and are my first dogs as an adult. I had turtles, frogs, geckos, gerbils, rabbits, fish and my parents had boxers and I have a great love for animals. They are my babies and my heart is aching that they are so sick now. Clyde and Cleo were ok for a while, but then wouldn't eat, were vomiting and had diarrhea. I took them to vet who said they had Parvo and started treatment on Friday at Caring for Creatures. Then took them to 24/7 Pet for weekend care, Cleo needed Plasma, then Monday when released - costing $7400. But Monday night Clyde wouldn't eat, and back in Tuesday morning now needing Plasma/feeding tube. I'm 21 years old, in the military, just bought my first house. I didn't know what I was getting into buying from this home breeder and am now almost $15,000 in vet bills from (more than 1/2 what I make in a year) and have maxed out my credit cards to save my puppies.

My life changed forever on 3/6/20. I was looking to foster a dog for the first time, the moment I met Tonka I knew that I needed to take him home with me. Tonka had been living at the shelter for over a year. While at the shelter, he was found to have multiple congenital heart conditions requiring emergent surgery and lifelong medications. Even though he is about 50 pounds, he still thinks he is a lap dog, and will cuddle on top of anyone that will let him. He is extremely curious and loves to go on adventures with his family to the beach, pond, or anywhere he can find a squirrel to chase When I adopted Tonka I had planned to have expenses due to his heart conditions. However, I was not ready for the unexpected emergency treatment after the freak accident. I have tried every possible non-surgical treatment to help his leg, unfortunately surgery is necessary. On 6/7/20, despite being secured into the back seat of the car, Tonka managed to jump out while the car was going about 50mph. Tonka endured several injuries, the worst being brachial plexus evulsion. Tonka went through intense rehab therapy without seeing improvement to his front limb. He will have to have his leg amputated at VMCLI performed by DVM Puccio with his Cardiologist close by. If you spent anytime around Tonka you would never be able to tell that he had congenital heart conditions or that he could only use three legs. Tonka is a very energetic pup, always trying to chase you around and steal all you stuff. Even with his injured front leg, he still tries to offer the paw up for anyone that he can sucker into giving him a treat.

Sara R. saved Apple off Craigslist, and the sweet pup blossomed into the most amazing dog. "Apple is so special because of her spunk and love of life," Sara tells Waggle. "But something that makes her stand out is her love to swim and fetch the ball in the pool. When apple looks at you wide-eyed with her brown and half-blue eyes, you can't help but give her all your love and attention." But suddenly, three days ago, Apple's backside became paralyzed. She is rapidly losing feeling in her toes. Sara paid $5,000 for an MRI to find out Apple needs a $9,000 surgery to walk again. That steep price is not something Sara can afford. "The cost of this surgery is astronomical and unreasonable for most households," Sara says. "I work as a waitress in a restaurant, and to come up with $14,000, plus the needed physical therapy, is extremely hard." Sara made this campaign for Apple, hoping kind-hearted, loving pet parents might give to help them through this terrible time.

Maeg B. is frantically doing everything she can to help her service dog, Sophie! "Sophie has a mass that appeared just over two weeks ago, and it has increased in size rapidly," Maeg tells Waggle. "Her health has declined with the loss of appetite and fatigue." Maeg is in the United States to pursue a doctor of animal chiropractic degree, and due to restrictions on her visa, she can't work. "I am trying to fundraise everything I can," she tells Waggle. "I have friends willing to make art. I've done tees and stickers." Maeg launched this Waggle campaign hoping you'll help Sophie too! Because she is a dog that Maeg just can't live without. "Sophie is a special girl," Maeg says. "She has a natural desire to serve and comfort, and she moved into the role of a service dog with little effort. Kore is my little baby that was born during the spring. She was found outside as a baby running around. She loves playing in dried flowers and she is a curious little kitty. She is only a year old and well loved. She is the cutest friendliest cat that loves to cuddle and play. Today kore was found panting and having a hard time breathing on the couch, she had her mouth open, drooling, panting, and then eventually got very stiff and couldn’t walk. When we raced her to the vet she was still having a hard time breathing and had a fever of 106. Kore is one of the biggest personalities I’ve ever met, her favorite movie is Harry Potter and loves playing with her big brother Kane. It’s said there’s always a skinny cat and a chunky cat duo, and she’s the skinny cat partner to that! She loves making her older brother play. She will play but never hisses scratches or bites. She just always wants love and to give that love back. I’ve just recently started a new job (I haven’t even gotten my first paycheck type of new) after the COVID strike hit. I hate feeling like as a mom at this point I have failed my baby and am willing to do anything to make sure she gets the care she needs and deserves.

On Christmas Day 2021, I found a young, thin kitty outside my mom’s house in the freezing rain. My mom couldn’t keep her so I brought her home with my family and, surprise, she gave birth to 6 healthy kittens on 2/22/22, one of which was Ven. 2 of his siblings were adopted but he still resides with me and his kitty family. He is a big, sweet, chunky boy who purrs as soon as you look at him. Last night I noticed he was walking weird when he exited a cat box so I looked around the area but only found drops of yellow urine. He was eventually walking more normally. This morning, I decided to check on him and, when I softly palpated his lower belly, he cried in pain and leaked a few droplets of blood tinged urine. AllPets at Pickerington confirmed a blockage that requires hospitalization. He is just the sweetest boy and loves everyone who will give him any bit of attention. He loves chasing his siblings and mom through the house and, despite his size, he is very talented at jumping up and bouncing off the walls to chase our laser pointer. I lost my job last year and it has been incredibly hard to find a new one, and unemployment benefits ran out in Feb. My parents passed away in 2024 (my mom on this very day today) and my car was repossessed on 5/1. I don’t have much left to lose and my cats are my family.

I rescued Jack when he was 2 years old, a month or so after my 14 year old Beagle Jilly passed away. I have another Beagle named Peanut who just had his Birthday August 8th-he turned 13. They are inseparable and love each other SO very much! Both of my Beagles sleep on my bed with me every night. Jack even has a giant Beagle pillow that he sleeps on. When anyone comes to my house he immediately runs over to them to say hello with a huge smile with his tail wagging like crazy! My son's friends just LOVE him. Everyone that meets him loves him! He is absolutely the sweetest most jovial and loving dog I've ever owned! Jack is one of a kind because he LOVES everyone! He loves to go on long walks and says hello to all of the people and children everywhere we go! He is kind of a big goofball which is so darn adorable! The veterinary surgeon who will be treating Jack was referred to me by 4 different people included 2 veterinarians. I took him in for an anal gland expressing and nail trim and they called me back to show me that he had a tumor in his right anal gland. I was in shock especially cause he's only 7! He's always been very healthy! I'm barely working and have been hit with SO many unexpected costs like this one! This type of surgery I've been told is extremely intricate so I wanted to make sure I found someone great. His surgery is scheduled for this Wed. I need this boy to live-he's too young to go!

Brynnlee

Brynnlee is a 5-year-old Blue Tick Hound in Hilliard, FL, who needs $2,000 for urgent cancer surgery.

When Paw Paws Animal Rescue rescued Brynnlee, they were shocked! Large, cancerous mammary gland tumors covered her entire chest. One was so big it dragged on the ground. She needed surgery to remove the tumors. "They were so widespread she needed 100 staples to close her abdomen area. Her incision covered her entire underside from her chest to her tail. We can't imagine the immediate relief she felt once those heavy tumors were removed," Michele H., with the nonprofit group, tells Waggle. But unfortunately, Bynnlee's road to recovery didn't end there. After surgery, she had complications, including a build-up of fluid that was so horrendous she needed a drain. She has now spent more than 28 days at the animal hospital. "She is receiving the best around-the-clock care and pain relief. She is in the best place to avoid infections and the opening of her incision," Michele says. Despite all Brynnlee has been through, she is always wagging her tail and has the most loving and relaxed personality. She will be the most wonderful companion for a family once she heals and fully recovers. Please consider donating towards her medical care, surgery, and rehabilitation. Her hospital bill is over $2,500. Any amount, big or small, will make a difference for Brynnlee. She needs your love and support!
