I adopted Stewie, now Maka, @11 weeks, from PAWS of Hawaii. His mom was a pregnant stray in Waianae. Heʻs my first pet in 13 years & he helped me stop my addiction. Heʻs a white Ridgeback/PB house dog w/full access to outside grass, and lizards for his hunting desires. Roommates and their pets come & go, we have a foster fail "Shy" Iʻm a diehard volunteer with Aloha Animal Outreach & partners Maka was born without hip sockets, the left hip is the worst. Without receiving FHO surgery he will not have a long, normal life. We recently came home from a dog play date and cried on the floor afterwards. I layed with him and his wagging tail and gave him medicine. I cannot imagine putting him down and I cry just typing this. He is my everything. Dr Kelly @ Aloha Affordable Vet in Aiea He has MANY friends but he LOVES the littles. Hee is crazy tall. He knows commands in English & American Sign Language. Maka means "eyes" in ʻOlelo Hawaii. He is so EXPRESSIVE + the top of his ridgeback has another set of eyes. Maka boosted the confidence of at least 20 fosters dogs so far. It breaks my heart that we paused fostering until he has surgery. Having him healthy would mean the world to my heart. I would continue medical and emergency foster care for Aloha Animal Outreach, Hinaʻs Legacy, PAWS of Hawaii, FAF. The cost is prohibitive. Single income on Oʻahu & while healthy now, I had 4 surgeries the last 3 years

15 years ago I was medically retired from the hospital. When I got out I got a service dog who changed my life. She passed away from bone cancer 2 years ago the day after Christmas. I was crushed and I felt like a part of me died. I never thought I would find that love again. 6 months and dozens of puppies later my life was blessed again when Princeton became my new future service dog and hope. Today, a week before Thanksgiving, a woman knocks and tells me she hit a white dog. We rush him to the vet and it's the worst they have seen. Multiple hip fractures and they dont do the necessary sergery we are referred to Blue Pearl in Grand Rapids, MI. He will need an FOH and a plate or a full hip replacement. He has been training since he was about 5 months old However, he's the first puppy my husband and daughter have ever had and they spoil him mercilessly. He goes on all my delivery jobs with me and likes to have his paw held, it soothes us both. We are inseparable and both don't like being separated. I am supposed to be receiving a spinal neck fusion and he is a reason I want to get better. Because of my pending neck surgery for spinal stenosis I have been working ride share gigs. It's a weekend and not life threatening they won't perform any surgery for at least 5 days and he must be hospitalized and monitored the whole time. I need him to be ok my surgery bud

My husband and I got Chips from a shelter after we lost our first fur baby Merry. We don’t go into the shelter that day looking to bring home a new dog, but we fell in love with her as soon as they brought her out to meet us. She lives at home with two other dogs. Maple, who we got from the same shelter as Chips and Persephone, my sister rescued her when she was only three months old. When we adopted Chips we noticed that one of her eyes looked blue. The shelter told us that when she came to them at 3 months old that her eye looked like that, they weren’t sure what happened. When we took her for her first vet visit, at bainfield pet hospital, around 6 months old, they told us that she has glaucoma and that there is a lot of pressure so it would need to be removed. Chips is very interesting, she does a lot of funny. When it’s time for her to eat if we take too long to get her food. She barks and taps her front paw. She loves to sit on our heads when she is playing with her toys in bed. For some reason she is very afraid of backpacks. And every morning when she sees my sister she wags her tail really fast and growls to say good morning. We knew she was probably blind, but we weren’t expecting that it would need to be removed. Since this needs to be done as soon as possible and is a very expensive surgery we don’t have the money saved up for it. Since she is a puppy we don’t want her to be in pain anymore

Romeo came into my life 4 years ago when he was just a puppy. He has seen me through so may ups and down and twists and turns in life. He is such a healer and means so much to me and my family. I love him with all of my heart and it breaks my heart to see him go through this. On the 28th of September on a drizzly Sunday morning, Romeo ran outside to play. He slipped and broke his right radius and ulna. The emergency veterinary hospital told us that he would need a surgery. Romeo had his surgery at Maverick Veterinary Surgery Service. Romeo is the goofiest, sweetest, most gentle creature. My Mom says he is just like Ferdinand the bull who loved to smell the roses. He enjoys playing with his huge basket of toys and is careful to put them away when he is done. He also has a raven friend he talks to in the yard. He loves his nightly bedtime stories and songs and he especially loves painting with his non toxic water color paints. The cost for Romeo's surgery is above and beyond any savings I had to provide for him. My family has all pitched in to help but the cost is substantial and any contribution to help lower the payments would be greatly appreciated.

I got Spook at 6 weeks old. He was supposed to go to a friend in South Carolina but he had been with me long enough by the time the friend could make it up that he ended up staying with me. I have his older brother from another litter as well. Spook rode around in my hoodie for a few months before he was too big. He’d play pool with me at my family’s little country store. 3 weeks ago a knot appeared between his eyes. Within 3 days he was blind. 2 vets later & several medications they’re suggesting an MRI to determine if it is a tumor & how far progressed it may be since it has affected his eyesight & causing nosebleeds. I included a copy of the quote from VCA in Fishers. Spook has always been my little buddy starting with riding around in my hood. He & brother Kane are a bonded pair. Every vet he has seen lately has said what a sweet dog he is. He acts completely normal aside from not being able to see. He still has plenty of life to live & will be fine even if the blindness is permanent. I just want to know what to expect as a prognosis. Our family’s store closed down for Covid & has not opened back up. I will do side jobs as I can to make money but am in the process of rebuilding my credit as well so I don’t qualify for CareCredit or ScratchPay. I don’t want Spook to suffer if it is a tumor.

I found Solita abandoned on the street in 2018. She was scared, aggressive, and clearly tossed aside but we saw something in her worth saving. We named her “Solita” because she seemed like a lonely little girl. Over time, she transformed into the most nurturing soul in our home. We now have five rescues, and Solita has become their gentle guardian. Her nickname is “Mama” because she comforts us. Solita was attacked, leaving her with puncture wounds on her arm and chest, a broken toe, and traumatic tissue damage. The initial veterinary clinic wrapped her injuries, but she quickly developed necrotic skin that they couldn’t treat. We rushed her to Gulf Coast Emergency Veterinary Hospital in Houston, where the specialists found the infection had spread to her muscle. requiring daily care Solita is the heart of our home. She’s gentle, watchful, and full of love especially toward the other rescues. Despite her rough past, she became our “Mama dog,” checking on the others like a little nurse, especially when someone’s feeling off. She doesn’t bark much, but she grumbles and huffs to let you know she’s paying attention Her favorite place is the sunspot in the backyard. We are on fixed income and We didn’t have an emergency fund large enough to cover this kind of crisis. We’ve spent what we could, but the treatments Solita needs aren’t slowing down. terrified that without help, we won’t be able to save her leg. Solita means everything to us

Adeena Beane has been raised since she was a puppy. She lives with my wife and I and her birth mom and 5 other dogs and cats. She loves being spoiled with a nice cushioned pillow. She is well taken care of ensuring all IVDD guidelines are in place with ramps going into or bed and onto furniture as she’s a fragile fur child. Three-years ago we found out Adeena had severe degenerative bone disease which required her first IVDD surgery (1/20/24). She went through recovery and rehab and was unfortunately stricken again on (8/2024) with her 2nd surgery and just 8/16 she was diagnosed with stage 5 IVDD needing surgery. She is paralyzed from her back in with deep pain. Adeena is currently being treated at Metropolitan Hosp Adeena Beane loves to cuddle with her momma. She’s a momma’s girl. She knows her momma is ill she stays close to her and will make sure she is okay. She will take her nose and push it up under the palm of your hand and insist on pets. Her big brown eyes will definitely captivate anyone. Due to my wife being extremely ill unable to work and maxing out credit cards this has financially put my us in a true financial hardship. Since this is our 3rd IVDD surgery and Adeena means the world to us. Euthanasia is not an option to us please consider helping.

Chanel came into my life as a premature pup and was my first dog. She’s been my strength through losing both my parents and my youngest sibling in 2024. Diagnosed with CKD, she’s still fighting. Her vet says she’s the longest-living CKD dog he’s seen — and that my love and care have kept her going. Help me save her. Chanel is a 10-year-old poodle-papillon mix diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD). She recently required a blood transfusion and is now experiencing breathing issues due to fluid in her lungs. Despite her condition, she remains alert, responsive, and continues to fight with the support of ongoing veterinary care. She is currently admitted at Tropicana Animal Hospital in Las Vegas our home. Chanel is more than a pet she’s family. She has a gentle soul, always sensing when someone is sad and curling up beside them. She brings comfort, love, and laughter to our home. Chanel greets everyone with a tail wag and soft eyes, forming deep bonds with each family member. Her presence has been healing and her love, unconditional. Chanel became very sick in 2024, but with treatment and her strong will, she survived. I care for her at home with subcutaneous fluids and a special kidney diet. But here’s the obstacle: 🩺 Surgery will cost upwards of $3,000, depending on what the vet finds once they begin. That’s our biggest challenge— Hunter’s story is one of quiet loyalty and strength. Rescued from a shelter years ago, he never let his past harden him. He’s a calm, smart, and incredibly gentle boy—never aggressive, never pushy. Even when being hand-fed, Hunter delicately pulls the food away without touching your hand, and thanks you with his nose. He only growled twice in his eight years—both times at sketchy men. We’re preparing to bring Hunter indoors full-time—a big shift for him, but one he’s open to now. Alongside surgery and rehab, we’ll need special supplies and set ups for him.
