Lotto came into my life about 5 years ago. It was my aunt’s cat at first but after I fell in love with this little shy boy, me and my mom decided to adopt him from her. Lotto was already named by my aunt but it means lottery and the reason she said she chose that name was because she was lucky to be able to have him. He has always been a healthy cat, but out of nowhere he would sit in his litter box and wasn’t able to urinate. he had been crying in pain. After visiting Hickory Veterinary and Specialty Hospital, referred by Urgentvet, he was diagnosed with urinary obstruction. He’s my specially baby because he doesn’t really like people, and would hide whenever there’s visitors, but he’s super affectionate to me and that shows how much he trusts me. Because it happened out of nowhere, I had to use the funds I was saving up for tuition. I wanted him to get better asap so I had no choice but now i’m in deep financial need to support my education as well as other expenses.

Kipton is an amazing kitten. She is full of energy. My daughter is 15 and found her outside in January with friends that said her mother was hit. As with all animal loving parents we said no but took her anyway. She is best friend with my son's cat and even plays with our dogs. We have all our pets fixed. We have used the local SPCA. She was spayed in early Aug. Six nights ago we noticed a hernia. We contacted our VCA vet. The vet said this was a result from the spay & set us to the SPCA. They went in did the repair but it didn't take and can't help now. VCA want $2580. Seeing Animals hospital Monday possibly $1800 with them Kipton is a sweet energetic kitten that loves everyone and everything. She snuggles so deeply. She loves to hide in the cat tree and be at the highest point in the room. She is my daughter's sleeping buddy. I swear she watches to protect her at night. My son has autism making it difficult to work full time. We can afford high loan payment every month and really need help getting her care. I can not express in words how much it would mean to save my daughters cats life

My girlfriend and I found Marty eating dandelions hobbling down an Oklahoma City street. I took him in, cleaned him up and took him to the vet. A month later, we have failed to find an owner and he has stolen our hearts, but we unfortunately do not have the money to get him the vet care he needs. Marty has dislocated his back leg (see x-ray in photos). He also has recently developed an ulcer on his right eye. Both his leg and his eye cause him pain as well as hinder his mobility and sight. He needs surgery for his leg that will sever the joint that has crashed into his pelvic bone, and medicated eyedrops to hopefully repair his eye. Marty's favorite thing to do is curl up in his bed and snooze. He is mellow and always along for the ride wherever we take him. I take him to work frequently. He naps at the side of my desk all day and often dreams, twitching and quietly barking under his breath. Marty has become my little shadow. When I found Marty, I wasn't financially ready to take on a dog, but I took him in because he deserves a chance. Fresh out of college, I don't have a salary that allows me to financially support him and I have already incurred some debt to get him what he needs.

Claus came into our life as a puppy, instantly becoming a piece of us we didn’t know we needed. He is our peace after dealing with everyone else’s worst days. He is the protector of our boys & their storm buddy. Suddenly, he got sick out of no where. While he hasn’t given up and we haven’t given up on him, treatment to get him better & home to us is becoming financially draining and a major issue. He is currently at Pet+ER in Cockeysville being treated for possible Leptospirosis as well as a potential tick borne disease. His bloodwork showed his kidney functions as double and his liver functions as nearly tripled. He’s been hospitalized now for just over 24 hours being treated with IV fluids, 2 antibiotics, nausea medication as well as vitamin K. He is my wife’s guardian during her pregnancies, never leaving her side any time she’s within his site. He is my oldest’s comfort while struggling with severe ADHD & dyslexia. He is the protector of my youngest, constantly being at his side the moment he makes any noise. He is my solace after a rough shift, always being there for me the moment I walk in the door. This is an unexpected major crisis for us and we’ve already spent our emergency funds just to get his treatment started. The ER required us to give a deposit of the lowest estimate for his treatment, which was $4,000 but the bill is now over the highest limit of the estimate

Brianna D. fell in love with Ripley when she saw her posted for adoption with an animal rescue. "Ripley had been saved from a hoarding situation with 30 other dogs," Brianna tells Waggle. "It was clear that Ripley was full of love but hadn't been able to experience a normal dog life. She was overjoyed to spend time outside, play with toys, eat snacks, run and jump around, and bask in the sun. She has grown into a playful, sweet girl." Brianna's veterinarian worried Ripley might develop knee issues due to her bowed back legs -- likely caused by living in a small space for years. Then Brianna noticed Ripley's knees click as she walked. She was just diagnosed with grade 3 luxating patellas. She needs surgery immediately before she tears her ACLs and arthritis sets in. Ripley's surgery is estimated to cost between $6200-6600. Brianna is committed to providing this care for her but is struggling to pay for it. Brianna recently experienced her own hefty medical expenses after being attacked by a dog. Ripley is a loving and adoring little dog full of personality. She bonded with Brianna instantly, and they are inseparable. Please help Ripley get back on her feet again!

Maher Harper Curran - also known as Mahersie, Maher Bear, Mahersala, Maher' Eats Oats, amongst other endearments - is a spunky, social 4.5 year old Tibetan Terrier living on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Because of Maher, her mother has met more neighbors than she ever could imagine. Maher has become a fixture for children in the neighborhood to pet and request "paw" in exchange for a treat. Maher's Mother thought she was being a wonderful mom and had been giving her those meaty (gross) dog bones that are in the frozen section of pet stores since it kept Maher busy and cleaned her teeth so well! Unfortunately, those bones can also cause a dog to chip a tooth, and that's exactly what happened. Maher has chipped/splintered one of her back molars. City Veterinary Care (220 W. 72nd St.) Maher is a delight. Her young cousins always ask about her and love getting to take walks with her, play, and cuddle. Maher is a "dog's dog" and absolutely loooves being chased in the dog park and having playdates with her dog friends. She is known to make grumpy strangers crack a smile when they see her fun hair-do (a ponytail or pigtails) and her derpy tongue sticking out to the side. This dental surgery (tooth extraction + dental cleaning) isn't covered by insurance and Maher's Mother has been hustling multiple odd jobs while applying to full-time work. This is an estimated $2700 expense. Luckily the tooth isn't infected but surgery needs to happen asap.

Lily showed up about 4 years ago as a feral and we have been feeding her but were unable to catch her. A month or so ago I noticed she was pregnant so 2 or 3 weeks ago I caught her and brought her in my house. She is the absolute sweetest little mama I think I have ever met. Very loving. I have never seen her pregnant in the 4 years so I thought she was fixed. On Tues, she went in to labor and delivered 2 kittens in about 20 mins. I was dead and the other was very small. Her labor completely stopped after that. At 1 am, I called Western Carolina, and they advised to let her be and see. Wed evening at 11, we still had no more kittens and she was in serious distress. I rushed her to the er vet and they did an emergency c section. She had 2 more alive. She is amazing! I believe she was dumped. Her behavior is not that of a typical feral. She has a terrible skin allergy and most of her front teeth are missing. I believe her life started out very rough, but yet she is the most gentle, sweet little girl I've ever met. She adores her babies, and even with her skin so red and inflamed, she cares for them wonderfully Her bill at the ER vet was extremely expensive but there was no way I wasn't going to do what she absolutely needed. She would have died without it. I will be keeping her inside feom now on as I have bonded heavily with her and her with me. I love this little girl.

Bagheera was born on my families farm after his mother and sibling had been left on the family's church steps. (He was in the surprise second litter). Baggy found a loving home with a loving family. Then in 2023 his parents had to move & I was lucky enough to foster him until they found a new home. Sadly his mom developed an allergy which gave me the biggest blessing in my life, Baggaboo. 8 days ago I go to kiss my handsome man under his chin, like I do a million times a day, & there is a solid hard lump. 5mins later I’m on the phone with East Oak Animal Hospital setting up a new patient apt. on the 6th. Bone cancer. By Thursday it’s twice the size, by today it’s grown a third. Monday we are going to Ryan Vet. Hospital. He will need surgery to remove 1/2 of his lower jaw at least. He is the greatest cuddler. His favorite pillow is my face. We fall asleep check to check all the time. We loves kisses. He will ask for them by pushing his forehead against my lips and holding it there until he says we’re done. The kitchen sink faucet is his best friend. He will hover over me at night & bop my face with his paw (claws always retracted) over & over again for me to turn on the sink I have been legally disabled since 2018, my husband left me in 2024 & we are in the middle of divorce right now. I don’t know what I would’ve done without Bagheera. Between the divorce we’ve had to move twice in 4 month. But we had each other. He is my everything & my life ❤

Help Alamo Heal After Life-Saving Surgery

Sweet Alamo and his siblings came into Almost There Rescue’s care after a reservation-owned dog had puppies. Thanks to Adopt A Dog Rescue, which convinced the former family to let the puppies come to us while their adult dogs are being altered to help prevent future litters. Soon after arriving, it became clear that Alamo needed more than routine puppy care. He was diagnosed with Persistent Right Aortic Arch (PRAA), a congenital vascular abnormality that was compressing his esophagus and preventing food from passing normally into his stomach. Alamo struggled with severe regurgitation, dehydration, poor nutrition, and the dangerous risk of aspiration. Thankfully, there was hope! Alamo underwent specialized surgery on July 30 to correct the vascular ring, and his surgical team is encouraged by his prognosis. But his journey isn't over yet. Alamo still needs careful supportive care as his body heals. He is receiving medication to reduce stomach acid and esophageal irritation, daily anti-nausea medication, fluids as needed to keep him hydrated, gradual dietary management, and close monitoring for aspiration and nutritional concerns. He'll also need follow-up evaluations to make sure his recovery stays on track. We're asking for your help to give Alamo the chance his doctors believe he has. Specialized surgery and ongoing veterinary care come at a high cost, and every donation helps Almost There Rescue continue saying yes to puppies like him.
