I rescued Ziggy off of Facebook from a couple who were selling him to pay for drugs. He was in horrible condition. Scabbed over from flea bites and full of parasites. He has 2 doggie sisters Carlee and Peppa and 1 Kitty sister Callie. He has 1 human brother my son Cameron. Vet believes he has Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD). IVDD is a common cause of back pain in dogs that occurs when the spinal cord is compressed by a herniated, ruptured, bulging, or slipped disc. My Ziggy is currently paralyzed in his back legs and lower body. He will need an MRI and surgery at Metropolitan Veterinary Specialists and Emergency Service in Louisville KY. Ziggy is a wonderful little chihuahua mix who was always full of life. He was like a toddler, always at your heels wanting to be picked up and carried. Oh, what I wouldn’t give to feel his little paws on my leg now. Ziggy loved to chase his tail, chase his sister around the house and was just always running around. He had so much energy. He was always giving kisses as well. I am a single mom who barely makes ends meet. I currently work 10 12-hour shifts straight off 4 days then 10 more and I am still barely above water. I have gotten behind in things since my grandmother passed after a long hospice stay.

Gaurdy

Gaurdy is a 7 year old Perro de Presa Canario in Costa Mesa, CA, who needs $615 for X-Rays 2 Views, Pancreatitis Test, Complete Panel.

Gaurdy came to us while we were out driving. He walked right in front of us at a stop sign. We stopped to see if he had any owner info. There was nothing found at the vet check up. Our kids were immediately attached to him with how affectionate & playful he was. We named him Henry before finding his original owners. They were unable to care for him and asked us if we could keep him and we agreed! He recently started having seizure like episodes. He has been examined at AAA Animal Hospital, Huntington Beach. The next steps are xrays & bloodwork. These are priced at $615. After we receive results, there may be further funds needed for treatment. It is a very scary thing to watch him go through and he can't tell us what's wrong. We are not able to pay for this as I am currently out of work. He has become best friends with our 12 yo Lab/Shepherd mix. We wanted a friend for him in his older age and then came Gaurdy. He also loves being with our children. Our family has felt complete once he entered our home. He is fun, loving, goofy and our protector. I am the sole provider for my family of 5 and I have lost my job. My wife had an invasive surgery that required me to stay home for several weeks. I am currently searching for work and will continue to pursue to provide for my family. Gaurdy means the world to us.

Charlie

Charlie is a 4 year old Great Dane in Fairfax, VA, who needs $2,000 for IV Antibiotics and Oxygen.

My family and I rescued Charlie after he was discarded by a breeder because he's not the "right color" for a Great Dane. We've had him for four years, and he has been a true gift. He's physically huge, of course, but so is his personality and the amount of love in his heart. He's literally what keeps me, my husband, our two kids and our two other rescue dogs happy and sane. Charlie is only four years old, and he has acute pneumonia. He has been at Pender Veterinary Hospital in Nothern Virginia for the last five days. We have been told that he is likely to make a FULL RECOVERY if we can provide him with 24 hour a day care for the next 5-7 days, which includes IV antibiotics and continuous oxygen at a cost of $2,000 a day. From the day we adopted Charlie, he has been glued to someone in our house. I can't even remember the last time I went to the bathroom without him! And now I refuse to leave him. He's already been at the vet hospital for five days, and I haven't left his side. We've run through our emergency fund of $14,000, and we have nowhere else to turn. We're not rich people - I work in the government, and my husband provides mental health counseling to kids for Farifax County government. Please help - I don't think we could live with ourselves if Charlie died just because we couldn't afford five more days of care.

Daisy Mae and I have been together for about 4 years now and I actually picked her up from a friend of mine that thought she was to hard headed and wouldn't listen so was tired of her and wanted to get rid of her. I picked her up from her and was taking her to another friend of mine that wanted a puppy and she was only 9 months old so I thought she would be perfect for him. Daisy Mae and I have been through so much together. When I first acquired her from the other friend that I originally got her for...she had just had a liter of puppies and had mastitis in all of her mamery glands and one of them busted open in my house and then we had to have surgery on her intestines cause the twisted on itself so we had to deal with that and now this dog attack has gotten her. Daisy stole my heart from the moment I met her and I knew from that moment we were meant to be together and through everything we have been thru together I know it's true. She has gotten me through a nasty split with my ex and I really don't know what I would have done without this dog through all of that I really just love her with my whole heart just like one of my kids and would be lost w/o her I lost my job about a year ago and I have severe depression and haven't been able to find another job and I tell u if it hadn't of been for Daisy Mae to pull me out of bed every morning I don't think I would be here right now to tell you this story.

Kenai

Kenai is a 3.4 year old Alaskan Malamute in Anacortes, WA, who needs $1,800 for Cluster Seizure Treatment.

My boyfriend and I got Kenai as a puppy around a year after the death of my previous rescue Malakai, he died due to a heart tumor, he was my companion for 10 years. Just shy of a year after getting Kenai, we got him a companion Malamute, his sister, Luna. Both of them are fixed, just to be clear there was no intention of breeding. We love them very much. We don't have children, we have fur babies! In June 2024 Kenai unexpectedly had a cluster seizure event. He had never had any seizure activity prior. We rushed him to the ER and by the time we got there he had already had upwards of 10 seizures that lasted around a minute. He's had a total of 5 cluster seizure events as of Oct 12. 2024. Each visit we have added meds or adjusted doses and tried to make a game plan to manage his seizures. Kenai is in many ways a stereotypical Malamute! He is very strongly opinionated and will vocalize his opinions, he LOVES food. He absolutely loves going in water, whether that is a small dog pool, a river, a lake, the ocean, he always wants to dip his paws in the water. We love Kenai very much and when he isn't having a seizure day he's a happy healthy boy. Due to us not knowing when Kenai will have a seizure episode I recently stopped working to be available to give him his medication. With one income we are struggling to keep up with the vet bills. Each ER visit is 1600$ minimum plus meds. It's been a once a month ordeal.

. In the beginning of 2017, I got Pinky, my Boxer. She is now 7.5 years old and she has moved with me throughout San Diego numerous times, travelled to Maryland with me a handful of times, spent countless of hours with me studying while I got my degree, and allowed me to accompany her to dog beach and dog parks to see her live her best life. She has been my best friend for years and she Pinky either has hyper parathyroidism or cancer of the anal glands. Either of these surgeries are about $4500 to $5500 on top of the already $462 that her bloodwork panel and urinalysis/ultrasound cost. I have been given an estimate of $679 for a hypercalcemia panel to be able to tell us which of the two she has. Pinky is loved very much by her sister Chow Mein, a cat. Her brother Hades is skiddish around everything but enjoys stealing her freshly washed blankets in her kennel. Chow Mein hates her cat brother Hades and only likes Pinky. I know she would be devastated without Pinky. I just moved to Arizona from San Diego in March & am still recovering from the cost of the move. The economy sucks right now and I have even tried selling one of my vehicles, a crappy old Camry, and my bicycle. I went to a jeweler here the other day to try to pawn jewelry.

Modus Operandi, Mo for short... was the product of an accidental litter and a man begging for help. We took Mo & his litter sister, Soleil in June 2023. We all live in a duplex with a big yard. He loves to run and jump. We joke he's part goat. He's got a deep bark but the most gentle heart. He wants nothing more than to be cradled in your lap if he's not running or jumping. We have used Banfield & Petfolk Vets to help us with their care. He has had numerous GI issues, requires his anal glands expressed monthly, struggles with allergies that require injections. Most recently he has had boughts of unexplained diarrhea. No parasites but a high load of bacteria. A few episodes of vomiting that has progressed. We are at the point of thinking obstruction. Xrays, labs... I myself suffer with serious GI issues and well Mo is my buddy. We suffer together, we comfort each other. We are FAMILY. We sleep together, we love together, we live our lives together for good and bad. He's beautiful, sweet and kind no matter whatever he goes through. He never loses that. I would let go if it means saving his life, but it would devastate him, his sister, myself. I have been very ill living on social security. I've been using care credit to manage his care to the best of my ability while my loved ones support us the best they can. This is going to go beyond our means. It is beyond. Today Modus needs to be seen at Banfield at 3pm.

Our pet came into our life as a family pet. My brother in-law couldn’t handle his wildish ways so we took him as our own and loved him like as one of our children. He became one of the boys to me and my husband. He is the sweetest kindest gentle soul that you could ever come across. We are banking on a hope and a prayer to save our little son. He is our child. Bubba is currently at Pinson animal clinic in Alabama waiting to have an emergency surgery. He has something stuck in his bowels which if he doesn’t have this surgery he will pass. He is currently waiting on us to give a decision. He is one of our children. He runs with them plays basketball with them. He loves to cuddle and be rubbed. He always has a smile on his face. He might be a garbage disposal but he is our garbage disposal a light in our house. We are a two income household hold. It gets hard with 4 boys and two dogs. We have a high rent trying to provide a roof over our family heads doing the best we can with what we have.

Bullie found us and decided he wanted us to be his humans me and my wife we're homeless and he came up to us while walking we looked for days for his owners and he just stayed with us following us every where we went after 2 months we found where he came from offer to return him but the people said we could have him because they already kept one out of the litter and he loves us October 1 he was hit walk going for our daily walk his mom was getting her bag together me and he went ahead to the trail a car was sleeping and came of the road hitting him and almost me the driver almost didn't stop and didn't say long enough to get her info he was treated at Seymour animal hospital and need his leg amputated the 14 Hello es mom and dad but when he sees his uncle Larry omg he gets so excited and want to go stay the night and the same with his 3 human sisters he never really needed to be trained as he understood any commands I would have trained him to to do he has never went potty inside until after his accident and it was only one time he's the best dog that ever owned me Well this was unexpected and it's very costly and he's only a pup he didn't deserve any of this hes the best boy ever and this is just so much that we're already broke because the first few visits and he needs this to live
