Jameson

Jameson is a 7 year old Chihuahua in Biddeford, ME, who needs $1,915 for Surgery for Mast Cell Tumor.

Biddeford, ME

Jameson was rescued back in 2016 from Texas. He was found outside during Hurricane Harvey. We rescued him from an organization in Connecticut. We decided to go see him due to his name, Brandon, which is also my husband's name. We all fell in love instantly, Jameson holding on to my husband's arm not wanting to let go. He has severe anxiety, but is the most loyal and loving dog there is. Jameson is seen at Scarborough Animal Hospital. He went in for a routine visit, and I asked for them to check on two lumps I recently found. They determined one was a mast cell tumor, while the other was too small to aspirate at the time. Since then, the smaller lump has grown, and will be assessed when the mast cell tumor is removed. Surgery is scheduled for August 30th. Jameson is such a loyal and sweet dog. All he wants in life is to love and be loved. He is loved by my husband and I, and our 3 year old son. He enjoys playing with his stuffy toys, his "babies" as I call them, and snuggling in between our legs. He is a sucker for cheese and will be anywhere there are snacks. He is the guardian of our house, and always looks out for us despite his small stature. Our family has been struggling significantly lately. Bills are behind, we are living paycheck to paycheck, applying for assistance and getting denied. Our other dog also has chronic arthritis and requires over $200 a month in medications.

Beau

Beau is a 1 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi in Fairfax , VA, who needs $2,000 for Exploratory Surgery.

Fairfax, VA

We took in Beau when he was 5 months old after his previous owners needed to rehome him. He is now a little over a year old and is the big brother to a 3 month old hound puppy. He is a playful, kind, and energetic little boy and loves everyone he meets. Beau continues to strive to be a bundle of happiness even through his recent medical issues. Beau's medical issues started when he woke up with a lump forming on his neck. We took him to a veterinary ER and they determined that the cause was an infection on his lymph nodes. After over a week on antibiotics, his swelling and lump has not improved and the vets aren't sure what to do next for him. Surgery or seeing a specialist to find the exact cause seem to be our only options at the moment Beau loves everything and everyone he sees. He is well-behaved and has been working very hard over the last several months on his training to act like a proper little boy in public. He loves the dog park and has many friends he sees there regularly. He is a patient and loving older brother and cares for us as if we are HIS babies and not the other way around. We love him so very very much ❤️ We've had many unexpected vet bills due to the unknown cause of his illness during the last few weeks. Getting him healthy again is all we're focused on and any help is appreciated so we don't have to say goodbye to our precious baby boy.

Zappa (Z)

Zappa (Z) is a 6 year old Chihuahua in Cohoes, NY, who needs $2,000 for Dental - Clean, Extractions, and Gum Treatment.

Cohoes, NY

In 2018 my niece’s dog had puppies. Right away I knew I wanted one!! I asked her to send me a picture of all of them. I chose a male and named him Zappa (Z). A friend of mine had recently passed and he loved Frank Zappa and that is how my puppy received his name. When I picked him up, I laid him on the front seat of my vehicle and covered him with a blanket. To this day, he loves his “blanket”. Since he became my baby, I do all his grooming. I bathe him, clip his nails, brush his teeth, comb him, as well other grooming. While brushing his teeth a few months back, I noticed the gum was receding from a top tooth. Recently the gum has eroded away. I’ve noticed he hasn’t been laying next to me all the time as usual. I believe he is in pain because of the tooth and goes and lays elsewhere. When I moved to Senior housing Zappa was nervous because he wasn’t used to so many people. He would act out with barking ferociously at people. Well, a year later, he has been named the Towers mascot!!! Everyone loves him now!! They comment on what a good dog he is now! Z loves to chase chipmunks and squirrels!! Whenever I have been out and come home, he is so excited and can jump almost 4 ft high My only income is Social Security Disability which means my income is very limited. Vet care is very expensive for which I cannot afford. I take him to the VIP PetCare traveling vet service that is at Tractor Supply stores on Saturdays. They provide discounted immunizations.

Maggie

Maggie is a 8 month old Chihuahua in Yorkville, IL, who needs $1,600 for Leg Perthes Surgery.

Yorkville, IL

Maggie Mae came into our lives not long after we lost our 16 yo chihuahua. We rescued her from a local rescue near home. She was my birthday gift. I was instantly in-love. Several months after Maggie entered our home, I noticed that she would yelp when her back legs were touched. I brought her in to have x-rays done & she was diagnosed with leg perthes disease. This will require surgery. Leg parties is a rare disease that requires surgery. This is the only solution for Maggie's leg to heal and for her to not experience any more pain. She is a patient of Dr. Robbins at Sugar Grove Animal Hospital. After surgery, recovery time will be at least a month with some physical therapy. She is only 8 months old, so we are happy we discovered this early on. Maggie is a sweet and energetic little pup who weighs in at a whopping 6 lbs. She loves to play w/her two older fur siblings and adores her 2 older human siblings. But her favorite thing to do is snuggle up next to mom under the covers. Maggie is spoiled & sleeps in a king bed every night. She loves to play fetch & go for walks. This surgery will help her get back to doing all the things she loves This was an unexpected and expensive expense we were not prepared for. Any and all help is greatly appreciated to help Maggie run and play again. We know that with your support, Maggie will live a long a healthy life.

Photo of Little Sweet

Little Sweet

Little Sweet is a 8 year old American Pit Bull Terrier in Amelia Courthouse, VA, who needs $2,000 for Emergency Care.

Amelia Courthouse, VA

Little Sweet arrived on my doorstep as a stray. From the beginning, he fit right in with my other dog, a Chihuahua named Pip, and our two cats. Soon, a female dog (Lola) showed up on our doorstep. Lola was also a stray, and before we could schedule neutering surgery we had to deal with a large litter of puppies. We kept one of the puppies and the others were adopted out through the SPCA. Little Sweet was shot in the chest by a stranger 7/19/24 in my front yard in Amelia Courthouse, Va. He was rushed to a local vet, who stabilized him & determined he had cracked ribs & a crushed left front leg. Bullet fragments can be seen on his x-rays. He spent a week there & had 2 blood transfusions due to anemia. He will require amputation surgery & must be transported to a different vet. Little Sweet is a special dog and is like a son to me, since I have no children of my own. It is totally devastating that he is suffering and will have to lose his leg. It is difficult to understand why a heartless and evil individual perpetrated this heinous crime. The shooting has been reported to police and we have a description of the car as it was driving away from the scene. I have only been employed for about 1 month. I live with my girlfriend and her teenaged daughter in a rental house. My girlfriend is a transplant recipient and her only income is disability. We have no pet insurance and live paycheck to paycheck.
